Abstract

Midwives are a profession with high physical and psychological demands, especially for those who are married, have children, and remain actively working, thus having to perform dual roles as professionals and homemakers, which can lead to work stress. This study aims to examine the relationship between dual role conflict and work stress among midwives at Hospital X in Gianyar Regency, who are members of the IBI Sanjiwani Branch. The method used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, involving 30 purposively selected midwives who were married, actively working, and had children aged 0–15 years. The instruments used were the dual role conflict scale and the work stress scale, both with adequate validity and reliability. Data analysis using the Spearman correlation test showed a significant positive relationship between dual role conflict and work stress, with r = 0.402 (p < 0.05). The highest conflict aspect was strain-based FIW (Family Interfering with Work), and the most prominent work stress aspects were psychological and behavioral. These findings highlight the importance of role management, work–family balance, and support from both organizations and families in reducing midwives work stress.

Abstract

The increasing tendency of integrity-violating behaviors among university students such as academic dishonesty and the normalization of unethical actions demonstrates the urgency of understanding psychological factors that may foster corrupt intentions from an early stage in higher education. This study aims to analyze the relationship between locus of control and intention to corruption and to examine the mediating role of moral engagement. A total of 350 students from public and private universities in Surabaya participated through a convenience sampling technique. Mediation analysis using linear regression showed that internal locus of control decreases intention to corruption (β = –0.088, p = 0.045), whereas the external dimensions, powerful others and chance, increase it (β = 0.526; β = 0.247; p < 0.001). Internal locus of control increases moral engagement (β = 0.299, p < 0.001), while the two external dimensions reduce it. When moral engagement is included as a mediator, the effect of internal locus of control becomes non-significant, whereas moral engagement consistently shows a strong negative effect on intention to corruption (β = –0.462, p < 0.001). These findings highlight that moral engagement plays a crucial role in preventing corrupt behavioral tendencies among university students.

Abstract

This study examines the application of constructivist and humanistic learning theories in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) through a student-centered learning approach. Constructivist theory posits that knowledge is actively constructed by learners through experience, reflection, and environmental interaction, while humanistic theory emphasizes the holistic development of human potential encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, aligned with the Islamic concept of humans as vicegerents on earth. The integration of these theories in IRE pedagogy creates an interactive and meaningful learning environment that honors individual uniqueness. Within this framework, teachers function as facilitators, mediators, and motivators who guide students toward self-actualization through contextual and collaborative learning activities. The constructivist-humanistic approach demonstrates significant advantages in enhancing learner autonomy, critical thinking skills, and the formation of religious character. However, its implementation faces substantial challenges, including limitations in teacher competency, instructional time constraints, and availability of contextual learning resources. Therefore, professional development initiatives for educators and the development of adaptive IRE curricula are essential to ensure effective implementation of both theoretical frameworks in learning practice.

Abstract

Burnout is a condition of prolonged stress that can reduce performance, work motivation, and quality of service, especially among individuals working in public service sectors. This condition highlights the importance of understanding internal factors that guide behavior and determine individual success, namely self-concept. This study aims to determine the effect of self-concept on burnout among employees of the Population and Civil Registration Department in Minahasa Regency. The study employed a quantitative method. The subjects were 40 employees of the Population and Civil Registration Department in Minahasa Regency, selected using a saturated sampling technique. The measurement instruments were Likert-scale questionnaires, consisting of an adopted self-concept scale with 25 valid items (reliability coefficient = 0.888) and an adapted burnout scale with 18 valid items (reliability coefficient = 0.904). The hypothesis was tested using simple linear regression analysis, resulting in the equation Y = 59.139 – 0.345X. The regression analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that self-concept has a negative effect on burnout by 39.9%. These findings extend previous research by showing that self-concept not only correlates with burnout but also directly influences it. Furthermore, this study provides new insights into the impact of self-concept on burnout among public service employees in the civil administration sector.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of phobias and factors that trigger their emergence in children with special needs who have hearing impairments at SKH Bina Citra Anak. Deaf children have limitations in understanding auditory information and expressing emotions, making them more prone to excessive fear responses. This study used a descriptive qualitative method through in-depth interviews and observations of four children with different special needs characteristics. The results showed several forms of phobia, such as fear of the dark, fear of heights, and specific phobias of certain foods. The triggering factors included traumatic experiences, sensory sensitivity, medical conditions, and communication barriers that made it difficult for children to understand and manage their fears. When phobias are triggered, children show reactions such as panic, crying, avoidance, or physical responses such as vomiting and cold sweats. Teachers apply a gradual approach, emotional support, and adjustments to the learning environment to help children face their fears. These findings emphasize the importance of early detection and appropriate support strategies to support the emotional development of children with special needs.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a problem that impacts physical, psychological, and social health and therefore requires treatment through rehabilitation. This study aims to describe the role of nurses in the rehabilitation process of drug users at the Dhira Suman Tritoha Foundation. The method used was a qualitative case study design through in-depth interviews with three nurses and non-participatory observation of rehabilitation services. The results indicate that nurses play a crucial role in monitoring physical conditions, administering medication, managing withdrawal symptoms, therapeutic communication, emotional support, and facilitating psychosocial and spiritual therapy. Based on thematic analysis, four main themes emerged: (1) medical-physical role, (2) psychosocial role, (3) spiritual facilitation role, and (4) challenges in nursing care. Nurses also help build patient motivation through cognitive-behavioral approaches and support behavioral change during the recovery process. Challenges faced include patient non-compliance, resistance to treatment, and limited resources. Overall, nurses contribute significantly to the success of rehabilitation through their holistic, patient-oriented role. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening nurses' competencies in addiction nursing and providing adequate institutional support.

Abstract

This article examines the psychology of religious learning environments and the importance of creating a conducive learning climate for the development of religiosity and Islamic values. The learning environment encompasses not only the physical aspects of the classroom, but also the psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions that shape the learning experience of students. This literature review analyzes theories of environmental psychology, classroom climate, and their application in the context of Islamic education through a review of the latest Indonesian-language literature (2020-2025). The discussion covers the basic concepts of learning environment psychology, components of a religious learning climate, relevant theories (Bronfenbrenner, Bandura, Bloom), characteristics of a learning environment that supports religiosity, and practical strategies for creating an Islamic learning climate. The findings show that a positive, inclusive, and religious learning environment significantly increases learning motivation, psychological well-being, internalization of Islamic values, and the formation of religious character in students. This article concludes that creating a religious learning climate requires synergy between Islamic physical environment design, a strong school culture, teacher competence in creating a safe and supportive psychological atmosphere, and the active involvement of all education stakeholders.

Abstract

This article discusses the internalization of Islamic values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning as a strategic effort to shape the character and personality of students who are faithful, knowledgeable, and have noble morals. The background to this study is based on the phenomenon of declining morality of the younger generation amidst globalization and technological developments, which require PAI learning to focus not only on cognitive aspects but also on the formation of Islamic attitudes and behaviors. The research method used in this article is a qualitative-descriptive method with a literature study approach (library research). Data were obtained from various relevant library sources, including books, scientific articles, previous research results, and Quranic verses and hadiths that support this research. The results of the study indicate that the internalization of Islamic values encompasses four main dimensions: faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), morals (akhlak), and science (scientific). The process occurs through three important stages: value transformation, value transaction, and value transinternalization. Teacher strategies play a central role in the success of this process through role modeling, habituation, integration of values into learning materials, and providing advice and value reflection. Successful internalization is also influenced by a religious school environment, family support, and contextual learning media. While the negative influence of digital media and low student motivation are key challenges, internalizing Islamic values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) requires synergistic collaboration between teachers, schools, families, and the community to create a generation that is religious, virtuous, and capable of facing the challenges of the times based on Islamic values.
