Abstract

This research was conducted to produce a learning model for geology learning at the Vocational High School level. The learning model is generated by utilizing the development of geospatial technology, namely Google Earth. This research also aims to; (1) disclose student learning outcomes before and after using the Google Earth-based learning model; (2) developing a scientific learning model based on Google Earth; (3) testing the effectiveness of the resulting model. This research is a Research and Development (RD) research conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Binuang in September 2019. The research subjects were 27 students of class XII Mining Geology. Research data obtained from instruments in the form of questionnaires, observation sheets and student learning outcomes which are a combination of performance scores and project values. Data analysis using; lesson content analysis, product development feasibility analysis, and effectiveness analysis using the Wilcoxson signed ranks test. The results showed that; (1) the value of student learning outcomes at posttest was higher than at pretest; (2) Google Earth-based scientific learning model has six learning steps; and (3) The significance value with the Wilcoxson signed ranks test shows the number 0.000 which, if interpreted, means that the Google Earth scientific-based learning model is effectively used. This model is proven effective in lessons that have material in the form of spatial data (spatial reference). Keywords: Learning Model; scientific; Google Earth; Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Purpose of this research is to produce Social Studies Learning Evaluation Media “MAPS”. This media is designed with a web browser-based learning game for junior high school students, testing their feasibility and practicality. This study adopts seven stages of research and development by Borg and Gall: (1) Analysis of potentials and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revisions, (6) product trials, (7) final product revisions. The subjects of this study are social studies teacher and 31 students VII.6 students of State Junior High School 23 Malang with data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires. The feasibility test results that have been conducted, show an average score of 3.71 for material validation, 3.5 for validation of IPS learning evaluation, and 3.87 for media validation. Based on the average value, social studies learning evaluation media "MAPS" is declared "Very Feasible" to use. The media practicality test was conducted based on the response of the test subject. Practicality test results showed a percentage of 97.5% for teacher response results and 87.66% for student response results. Based on the percentage of user response, social studies learning evaluation media "MAPS" can be declared "Very Practical" to use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of Silent Demonstration in Open Learning Environments and how these activities can integrate students to critical thinking, creative, communication, and collaboration in social studies subjects. The method used by the researcher is a phenomenological qualitative approach by describing the behavior, responses, actions of individuals and groups in the form of words and language, naturally (naturally). Data collection techniques through observations in grades VIII G and VIII H, in-depth interviews with subject teachers and group leaders of 14 students and documentation during the research. The research results are that the implementation of silent demonstrations in OLEs attracts students' attention through observations in understanding production, consumption and distribution activities so that learning objectives are achieved. This learning activity integrates integrated skills between Silent Demonstration which attracts students' attention through observation and Open Learning Environments (OLEs) which presents the context of a natural resource perspective from the environment.to build multiple points of view through tools/media as an effort to strengthen 4C learning (critical thinking, creative, collaborative and communicative)

The results of study explain about Kyai Penoppo who is a figure who has historically been respected as a religious leader and leader in the fight against colonial subversive acts in Afdeeling Berbek. This resistance occurred when the Afdeeling Berbek suzereinitas held by Sosro Koesoemo I. The overall policy issued by Sosro Koesoemo I was influenced by the central policy of Karesidentie Kediri or directly from Batavia. The influence of Kyai Penoppo in Nganjuk is still thick today, as is Sosro Koesoemo I (Kanjeng Jimat). Keywords: Social Movement; Kyai Penoppo; Sosro Koesoemo

Abstract

Literacy skills in the 21st century for the cognitive development of any student are vital. Various literacy skills are a derivative of 21st-century skills. Social literacy is one of the goals of the social studies learning process. It is also necessary to improving supporting abilities such as the ability to communicate, collaborate and think critically for each student. They can mount their competencies through learning experiences from the surrounding environment. One of the innovations is for improving students' social literacy skills in social studies learning is using the "MONATE" (Movie Analysis and Debate) learning model. The "MONATE" learning model uses films as a form of material delivery as innovative learning. The method used in developing this Learning Model is ADDIE (analysis, design, develop, implement, evaluate). In this article, we only discuss the progress stage of the development of this MONATE Model. The analysis stage is out by conducting a literature study related to social studies learning competencies. The design stage is a process to design a learning model that is by the learning objectives. The development stage is out by validating the social studies learning model developer experts for a desk appraise. The result is that there are several model developments, especially in the learning syntax and learning media used. The improvement of this model becomes the basis for conducting further research processes.

Abstract

The conflict in West Kalimantan is one of the negative impacts of ethnic diversity in Indonesia. To prevent the recurrence of similar conflicts, the participation of various parties, including the education sector, is required by developing conflict resolution education. This article aims to examine three things, namely (1) the theoretical design supporting the model from the educational aspect, (2) examining the initial design of the model, and (3) examining the design implementation of the model. The research was studied using the Sukmadinata approach which simplifies the development research stages of Borg Gall. The results show that (1) there are three educational theories used to develop conflict resolution models in social studies learning, namely progressivism theory, reconstruction theory, and humanist theory. (2) The development of the initial design of the conflict resolution model in social studies learning includes five aspects, namely syntax, social systems, management systems, support systems, and instructional and accompaniment impacts. (3) The design of the implementation of the conflict resolution model in social studies learning includes planning, targets, and actions.

Abstract

The demands and challenges of 21st century development occur in all areas, especially in the learning process and student competence. The achievement of 21st century learning objectives is implemented in the 2013 curriculum, one of which is through the development of Bahan Ajar Digital (BAD). Development of BAD uses STEM approaches and eco-spatial behavior in Population materials. It is expected to produce students who are able to innovate and compete in the digital age while maintaining environmental sustainability. The development research model uses the ADDIE procedure (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data type consists of qualitative and quantitative. Data collection using interview techniques, questionnaires, and documentation with descriptive percentage analysis techniques. The product development trial was conducted in class XII IIS MA Al-Ittihad Poncokusumo. The feasibility test results obtained 87% of student responses, 95% of teacher responses, 90% of material validators, and 95% of media validators. Thus, BAD is very feasible to be used in the learning of Geography.

Abstract

Education providers are one of the sectors forced to change the pattern of offline to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students, as members of the native generation, are certainly already familiar with information technology systems that are widely open. When experiencing difficulties, they will use the available platforms to find solutions without communicating directly with the people around them. As a result, they think practically and unconcerned about their environment. Podcasts are an alternative platform for distance learning because they involve professionalism in sharing content or inviting students to collaborate as resource persons. Other students can interact through written communication during learning, allowing feedback to be felt and an emotional connection to be formed. The content of local wisdom values is inserted at every meeting with the goal of instilling and developing student character behaviors. The study included 30 participants, and descriptive statistical analysis revealed that 85% of students were satisfied with using local wisdom podcasts as a learning medium.
