Abstract

The spatial thinking ability is necessary in studying geography. Geographical material that discusses phenomena on earth requires the spatial thinking ability for applying a geographic approach. The purpose of the following study was to determine the effectiveness of the learning guided inquiry based on geoliteracy (GIGL) of spatial thinking ability. The research subjects used experimental and control classes which were selected by paying attention to the similarity of characteristics. The research was carried out in class X IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Pracimantoro. The research design used a non-equivalent control group design. Spatial thinking ability data analysis using T-test analysis with a significance of 0.05. The results of data analysis using the T-test show that there are differences in the ability to think spatially between students using the learning guided inquiry based on geoliteracy and students using the conventional learning model.

Abstract

The problem of distance lectures is quite a lot, it is expected to encourage the development of digital flipbook-based teaching books so that they can be accessed easily and quickly by students who can help smooth lecture activities, especially in social studies learning. Another important reason, this digital flipbook-based textbook was developed: first, there is no social studies textbook integrated with local wisdom; second, the absence of learning materials based on digital flipbooks that have been used in previous online and offline learning; third, the lack of values education based on Malay local wisdom in social studies learning. The model used in this development research is a 4D model from (Four D Models) according to Thiagarajan. This development model was chosen because it aims to produce products in the form of social studies learning materials based on digital flipbooks integrated with local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims 1) to describe the physical, social, economic, and cultural potential of the Social Science Education field laboratory object on the slopes of Mount Tengger and 2) to produce a product in the form of a manual for the Social Science Education field laboratory. The Dick and Carey model was used in this development with simplified stages. Qualitative data are in the form of 1) a description of the object of research and (2) suggestions for product improvement from the validator of learning and design experts. Quantitative data are in the form of response scores from expert validators and students during limited trials. The instruments in this study were observation sheets, interview guidelines, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis used in this study is a descriptive analysis to examine the relevance of various subjects in the Social Science Education Department with the objects that are scattered in the study area. Furthermore, descriptive statistical analysis is used to process the questionnaire data with a Likert scale of 1 (very poor) to 4 (very good). The results showed that first, the physical, social, economic, and cultural potential in the research object supported the feasibility of developing a social science education field laboratory. Second, the manual for the Social Science Education field laboratory is suitable for use in outdoor social studies learning with a feasibility value of 87.25 (very feasible).

Abstract

The development of 21st century education affects the use of learning media. In learning activities, digital teaching materials are needed that support the student's learning process. The development of e-magazine teaching materials for lithosphere dynamics materials is carried out because digital teaching materials are minimally used in learning. The purpose of this research is to produce e-magazine teaching materials with the SAVI approach. This study used the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model procedure. The types of data used are quantitative and qualitative. In the process of collecting data using questionnaires, interviews, as well as documentation of activities with percentage descriptive data analysis techniques.  Teaching material products are tested for feasibility at SMA Negeri 2 Malang class XI IPS 3.  Based on the results of product feasibility tests by media expert validators, material experts, linguists and test results in schools, e-magazine teaching materials are very feasible and valid for geography learning.
