<![CDATA[This paper is an attempt to analyze the use of language functions of the conversation text found in When English Rings a Bell textbook. To achieve this purpose, the conversation texts in the textbook are carefully analyze through Halliday’s (1975) language function model. The results reveal that the conversation texts in the textbook is lacking some of the language functions. In regard with this, some implications were proposed.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to investigate a teacher’s experiences and difficulties of Google Classroom-assisted teaching writing. This research used narrative inquiry as a research design. It used interview as the data collection technique to answer the research questions. One English teacher who taught in two grades of Vocational School in Karawang, Indonesia participated in this research. The finding shows that the teacher had particular ways to deliver the material assisted by Google classroom. To work with the Google Classroom, the teacher also used the PJBB Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh to deliver the material which was fit to school curriculum. To assess the students, the teacher used to ask the students to write down the answers of its task, and then they take the picture of its answers so they send it into Google Classroom. To conclude, this study shows that the internet data, device, student and teachers' ability, and so many other factors were given a big impact on online class, especially on Google Classroom-assisted teaching writing. The next researcher hopefully will conduct the research in the different focus of study, different learning media, and different classes or grades and also the next researcher hopefully conduct it with more participants. Because of this study just focused on writing narrative text lessons assisted by Google Classroom, the future research with another focus of study for example reading, speaking, listening, and so on hopefully will be conducted.]]>

<![CDATA[Feminism is a women's movement in seeking equality to be equal to men in any way, including relationships. In this study, the writers’ purpose of analyzing The Girl on the Train movie is to find out the kind of feminism, the causes of feminism that influence the main character, and the moral message contained in the movie. The writers use qualitative research methods in describing and analyzing this movie. The writers also do library research to find many references from books or the internet which are useful to support this paper, especially the theories. After analyzing the movie, the writers found one of four kinds of feminism which is Liberal Feminism. Liberal feminism is women's liberation about certain aspects of themselves or their lives. They claim that women have the same capacities as men, and have the same rational thinking as men. Another result, there are also two causes of feminism that influence the main character in this movie, namely betrayal, and domestic abuse. Besides that, this movie sends moral messages. This movie tells about women who are treated unfairly and experience many painful things in the relationship. The women must dare to defend themselves and fight men who are cruel to them. And every woman will help another woman in any situation, even if it threatens her.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using bingo games media to improve students vocabulary mastery at MTsN CIBINONG. Based on the theory of Groller, Bingo is often played simultaneously by large groups; the winner being the first contestant is to cover a line of five numbered spaces on his card as selected by chance and announced by the game caller. Design used in this study is experimental quantitative research. The research subject were 30 students at MTsN 3 CIBINONG. The result of using vocabulary Bingo games strategy showed that the students were interested in teaching and learning English. Based on the fact, it is underlined that in this study, the hypothesis of this study is accepted and well proven; as the writer has previously hypothesized that there is a significant difference between teaching vocabulary to the students of MTsN CIBINONG who are taught vocabulary by using Bingo Game and those are taught without using Bingo Game. The students of MTsN CIBINONG are interested in studying vocabulary through Bingo Game. The students enjoy learning vocabulary by using Bingo Game. The students of MTsN CIBINONG who are taught vocabulary by using Bingo Game get higher score than those who are taught without using Bingo Game. There is a significant difference between control group and experimental groups. From the statistical analysis, it is found that the students of experimental group who are taught vocabulary by using Bingo Game gained better result than the students of controlled group who are taught without using Bingo Game.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted to analysis the students’ problem in speaking and the cause factor of the students’ speaking problem at fifth semester of English Education Department in UNIMUDA Sorong. This research used descriptive qualitative research design. Fifth semester of English Education Department in UNIMUDA Sorong was chosen by the researcher as sample which consists of 16 students. In collecting data, the researcher used interview, and questionnaire. The data collect were analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data, taking the conclusion and verification. From the data analysis, the researcher found that the students speaking problem are fear of mistake, shyness, lack of motivation, inhibition, lack of typical knowledge or nothing to say and mother tongue used. The cause factor of the speaking problem are external and internal factor. The internal are intelligence and interest in learning while the external factor is classroom environment.]]>

<![CDATA[The intention of this article is to report one of Pejuang Muda program called Team Based Project in the form of empowering a poor family. After going through the stages of observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires on problems to all sub-districts in the Sukabumi Regency area, it was determined that the program to be implemented by the Pejuang Muda of Sukabumi Regency was a humanitarian program in the form of provision to be given to Mrs. Kokob and Mr. Eman, a person with disabilities. The Poor Families empowerment program was implemented on the 16th of December 2021 in Darussalam Village RT 8 RW 6 Bantargadung Regency Sukabumi Regency West Java. The result shows that 1) The target of this program can be achieved properly according to planning and expectations. 2) Through this program Ibu Kokob can run a stall so that she can earn money from it for helping their daily needs. 3) The team of Pejuang Muda of Sukabumi Regency succeeded in conducting the Team Based project as one of the programs of Pejuang Muda. They were able to find the problem, set the solution, and solve the problem that occurred in the society]]>

<![CDATA[Education worldwide faces a daunting challenge following the closure of schools in response to the pandemic protocols. Many schools have switched to distance teaching to ensure the implementation of education for all students. ERT is meant to start a temporary shift in instructional delivery to an alternative teaching and learning delivery due to crisis conditions. This paper presents a sketch of teachers (Guru Penggerak) who have shared their experience during the emergency remote teaching. Although they had gone through their ERT quite well, they admitted that their teaching needed improvement. Some of their best teaching practices are presented as follows: enhancing professional development through trainings, establishing collaborative atmosphere through mentorship, taking initiatives to design learning materials independently, promoting commitment through favorable communication, and delivering materials in a measurable and scheduled manner. This paper provides several practical teaching pedagogic implications to enhance teachers’ professional development during the new normal.]]>

<![CDATA[The use of a dictionary will be more efficient with a digital dictionary because it may be used anytime and wherever we are. Vocabulary search in digital dictionaries can use several search methods or vocabulary translators, including the Every-Match translator method and the Two-Phase translator method. The Every-Match and Two-Phase translator methods were used to search on Indonesian, English, and Arabic vocabulary in this research. The accuracy of the two methods will then be analyzed to see which is the more accurate translation method. The experimental methodology is used in this study, with the aim to determine the effect of a treatment on the experimental group's results. The Every-Match and Two-Phase translation methods are used in this multilingual digital dictionary. A process of matching keywords with a database in this digital dictionary system. Keywords in Indonesian will be used as a basis for searching in this digital dictionary. The search will be divided into two phases: a search using the same keywords and a search using databases that have keywords that are similar to the ones entered. The goal is to avoid keyword typing errors. And, based on the results of the data analysis, the Mann Whitney U test shows that there is a very significant difference between the Every-Match method and the Two-Phase method in translating words from Indonesian in English to Arabic. The average value of Every-Match was 34.8 or 70%, and the translation using the Two-Phase method was 41.7 or 83%.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this research is to find out whether a cue card media impact or not reducing speaking anxiety at grade in MTs Az-Zikra Kota Sorong. Related to the objective of the researcher used pre-experimental quantitative research design. The design of this research is one group pretest posttest. The population of this research was eighth grade students of MTs Az-Zikra Kota Sorong with the sample is 34 students. In the collecting the data, the researcher used anxiety questionnaire which consist of 32 items, and it was applied in pretest and posttest. In analyzed the data, the researcher used SPSS 20 program to calculate the data. The result finding of the research showed that, there is a difference score between the result of the anxiety questionnaire in pretest and posttest. It can be seen from the questionnaire result in pretest was 76,4 % categorized into severe anxiety level reduced become 53,6% in posttest. It can be concluded that cue card media can reduce the speaking anxiety of the students.]]>

<![CDATA[This research is based on learning that applies creative thinking skills in improving the speaking ability of high school students. the application of the 21st century in learning is stated to be very necessary and able to improve students' abilities in this modern era. Researchers describe the results and changes experienced by students before and after learning by applying creative thinking during class. The purpose of this research is to improve students' speaking skills to be better and fluent by applying creative thinking in every meeting and class learning. The researchers using qualitative descriptive data to explain the result and for the strategy researcher choose discovery learning by utilizing creative thinking consist of 25 students in a class. This methodology has several advantages including classroom action research which consists of planning and taking surveys through online data collection.the instrument will be collect from intervew and questionaire. Data analysis showed that most of the students in one class showed satisfactory results with a parameter which is an assessment table that in accordance with the abilities that must be achieved by students to make their speaking skill better. This is indicated by the increasing ability of students during the final test. The average score of students to be better 85% based on the calculation of the graph. Speaking skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary and intonation are getting better. During learning, students feel comfortable and enjoy. So, from the results obtained, it can be said that students' creative thinking is encouraged and their speaking skills are increased.. Key Words: Creative thinking, speaking skill]]>
