Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the phenomenon of deliberative rhetoric using the hashtag #SepakatDamai on Twitter to motivate the public. After the tragedy of riots between football supporters at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, it succeeded in triggering public attention and became a trending topic on Twitter. Many football supporters and the general public take an active role in voicing peace to reduce fighting. Through the hashtag #SepakatDamai, the public is persuaded to get involved in carrying out peace agreement actions so that, in the future, there will no longer be any hostility between football supporters. In the end, tweets from actors involved in peaceful demonstrations form social network patterns that can be utilized in deliberative rhetorical actions. The hashtag #SepakatDamai plays a role in mobilizing public opinion support for the peace agreement between football supporters. This discussion emerged spontaneously on Twitter and was widely discussed until it became a trending Twitter topic. This research uses the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method and then connects it with the Digital Movement of Opinion and Rhetoric Theory. This research stage began by determining the most dominant actor in the hashtag #SepakatDamai. After that, the researcher carried out an analysis of the posts made by that actor to determine the rhetorical phenomenon. The results of this research found that the hashtag #SepakatDamai succeeded in mobilizing public opinion about the football supporters' peace agreement. The most dominant actor is @mafiawasit, with a network structure value of degree 1.471, closeness 1.0, betweenness 0.000238, and eigenvector 1.0. The @mafiawasit account carries out deliberative rhetoric for the public by showing the facts that have occurred regarding the peace agreement between football supporters through posts on Twitter and retweeting similar posts so that the public follows the peaceful demonstration.

Abstract

The implementation of periodic monitoring and evaluation is one of the keys to the successful implementation of bureaucratic reform in an organization. Various ways are carried out so that the implementation of evaluation monitoring is carried out periodically by each organization. Various components become objects that must be monitored and evaluated continuously. This is not an easy thing to do with its various complexities. One of the government agencies has implemented Information Technology as one of the efforts to implement scheduled, up to date and optimally evaluated bureaucratic reforms. With an adaptive structuring theory approach, this study aims to see how the adaptive structuring process in the use of e-monitoring applications qualitatively by interviewing a number of respondents who are Civil Servants in each Working Group in eight areas of bureaucratic reform changes. The results showed that the use of e-monitoring application is the process of structuring information technology on rules and resources produced and reproduced by users in the organization. Then there is an interplay between the information technology structure ofe-monitoring with the structure of features, other structures, and internal organizational systems.  Adjustments made in interacting also give rise to a new structure that is continuously carried out by users so that it is legitimized in the use of e-monitoring as a process of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of bureaucratic reforms.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of the control and social glue functions of RRI Pro 1 Bengkulu in maintaining the existence of the Republic of Indonesia. RRI Bengkulu, as part of RRI as well as a broadcasting institution, also helps realize Indonesia's national ideals because its broadcasts must be educational, ensuring the diversity and plurality of Indonesian society so that its integrity and existence are maintained within the Republic of Indonesia. Due to the low number of audiences, it is necessary to maximize the function of control and social glue so that audiences remain popular and reconcile them so that the existence of the Republic of Indonesia can be maintained. The research method uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, documentation and literature studies. Research data is divided into two sources, namely primary and secondary data. The primary data for this research was obtained from interviews with informants as well as indirect secondary data. It aims to complement and support the primary data so that it is relevant to the research focus. The research results show that RRI Pro 1 Bengkulu carries out and implements social control and glue functions optimally through news and broadcast programs, including dialogue programs using social media like Instagram and YouTube. RRI Pro 1 Bengkulu has succeeded in implementing its control function by presenting accurate, balanced and critical information on various issues relevant to the existence of the Republic of Indonesia. Apart from that, the social glue role of RRI Pro 1 Bengkulu is reflected in various programs that promote culture, diversity and national values. In this context, RRI Pro 1 Bengkulu not only functions as a transmitter of information but also as an agent of social change that contributes positively to the formation of national identity and maintains unity amidst the dynamics of society. The implications of these findings provide new insights for the mass media and related stakeholders to continue to optimize their role in supporting the existence of the Republic of Indonesia. People get information or insight, and then various perspectives emerge. This diversity is tolerated, therefore the situation in society is conducive; it can be interpreted that society as a unified whole is maintained, and the existence of the Republic of Indonesia remains. The right decision is that RRI Bengkulu and its programs and RRI in the Republic of Indonesia region continue to carry out their broadcast programs in a sustainable manner by paying attention to aspects of adaptation to current changes, such as digitalization.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of communication media digital in improving the learning achievement of students in the da'wah faculty and communication Al-Aziziyah Samalanga Bireun Islamic institute . This research uses qualitative research with this type of research field (field research). The informants in this research are leaders and Student at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication at the Al-Aziziyah Samalanga Bireun Islamic Institute and data collection techniques were carried out by observation, unstructured interviews and documentation related to the discussion on research. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that students who actively use digital communication media tend to achieve higher academic achievements. Interactions that occur through digital platforms also help in developing communication skills, mastery of material, and collaboration between students. The digital communication media used is Online Media, including all online platforms, including email, social media, faculty websites, and streaming or video conferencing. Optimizing the use of digital communication media in improving student learning achievement includes, Optimization Objectives, seeking to maximize existing media for use in learning. The Decision Alternative seeks to choose digital communication media in this case to help the teaching and learning process. Resources, in this case developing and creating students who are interactive in learning and creating students who are skilled in using digital communication media. There are several obstacles to the use of digital media in improving student learning achievement at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, Al-Aziziyah Samalanga Bireun Islamic Institute, including, Technical Barriers, including Accessibility issues, not all students have the same access to technology. Infrastructure Constraints: Some students may not have adequate devices or internet connections. Human Barriers, including the problem of Lack of Technology Skills. Some students may not be familiar with or lack skills in using complex digital technology. Difficulty concentrating, due to disturbances from the surrounding environment or lack of face-to-face interaction can affect learning focus

Abstract

Currently, technology is rapidly increasing advancing and developing. Communication technology, especially smartphones, has experienced rapid development with up-to-date technologies and features attached. Amidst the rapid development of technology and features attached to communication tools, the phubbing phenomenon has emerged which occurs at almost all levels of society. The emergence of this phenomenon become one of the developments of communication technology especially cell phones negative impacts, which results in the disruption of relationships between individuals due to too much focus on cell phones. This phenomenon has a bad impact on technological developments and hurts phubbers mental health. literature reviews or desk research. The aim is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the phubbing phenomena, which is happening unintentionally in society, by drawing on prior research. This article’s purpose is to provide a comprehensive understanding of phubbing and its effects on communication and mental health in society. The goal is to raise awareness and propose preventive measures to mitigate any additional adverse consequences. The findings of this paper demonstrate that the phubbing phenomenon is a negative consequence resulting from the quick and substantial advancements in technology. In Indonesian society, the phenomenon of phubbing is not widely recognized. From the standpoint of communication ethics, this phenomenon is clearly the opposite of face-to-face communication norms and ethics, as it involves disregarding the individual with whom one is conversing. Ultimately, comprehensive community involvement and extensive study are essential to gain a deeper understanding and develop proactive strategies to address the rise of the phubbing phenomena.

Abstract

This qualitative research investigates the significance of open family communication in children's adaptation to the presence of a stepmother. Through in-depth interviews with five child informants, we explore crucial factors such as the introduction process, the journey from discomfort to closeness, and the influence of parental communication and openness on children's ability to adapt and establish relationships with their stepmothers. The study also delves into the evolving dynamics of emotional expression, acceptance, and the impact of early experiences on the relationships between children and their stepmothers. Furthermore, we examine the unique roles of stepmothers, communication challenges, and the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown on the depth of conversations. The findings contribute valuable insights to understanding the complexities of children's adjustment within blended families, emphasizing the pivotal role of open family communication in nurturing healthy relationships.

Abstract

Super Air Jet Indonesia is a commercial airline that was officially established in 2021. As a new company it is very important to build and introduce its brand to the public in order to create a positive image to strengthen the Super Air Jet brand. Brand building activities are one of the important roles of marketing public relations where the focus is not on sales activities but rather on the function of marketing synergy. So this research focuses and aims to see how Super Air Jet implements marketing public relations strategies in its branding activities. In this research, researchers conducted in-depth interviews and carried out non-participatory observations supported by several secondary data in the form of documentation. The results of this research highlight the branding activities carried out by Super Air Jet from the marketing public relations strategy. The push strategy carried out by Super Air Jet is through collaboration with other companies, one of which is the travel agent company. Super Air Jet Indonesia also establishes relationships with the media as a form of its push marketing public relations strategy. Super Air Jet's pull marketing public relations strategy is in the form of give away to its followers on Instagram. The pass strategy, Super Air Jet actively organizes marketing events such as birthday celebrations which include fashion shows for Super Air Jet flight attendants. Super Air also participated in the Run Hub event by becoming a sponsor partner with other Lion Group subsidiaries. And finally, Super Air Jet also collaborates with content creators to create content related to Super Air Jet so that coverage of Super Air Jet continues to expand on social media.

Abstract

The public has the right to obtain public information related to the Government, so the Bogor City Diskominfo created the SiBadra application as a communication and information service facility, but in the process experienced technical problems with the system which resulted in negative complaints, for which a complaint handling strategy was created. The aim of this research is to determine the public relations strategy of the Bogor City Diskominfo in managing the SiBadra application for public information disclosure. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. From the results of this research, it is known that at the defining public relations problem stage, specific research was not carried out before formulating strategic planning, but only by knowing the high number of smartphone users in the city of Bogor. The planning and programming stage was created in conjunction with the Bogor City Regional Medium Term Development Plan or RPJMD for 2019-2024. Action and communication stage by carrying out various socialization and collaboration with other OPDs. The evaluation stage of the program is carried out openly by publishing detailed weekly data recapitulation reports to the public. So that through the public relations strategy process the objectives of managing the SiBadra application can be achieved.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is defined as a collection of intelligent agents that can be accessed through a single press. The capabilities of artificial intelligence have surpassed humans as it is able to collect, store and process data. As a result, humans are no longer the shapers of technology but the other way around. Initially, the presence of artificial intelligence influenced studies in the natural and exact sciences, but it has now expanded to the economic and social aspects of human life. Social media is one of the places where artificial intelligence is implicated. The number of users reaching 4.76 billion by early 2023 is threatened by the ability of artificial intelligence through an algorithm system that can regulate the presentation of content and be hidden, which has an impact on the formation of public opinion and injures the right to freedom of opinion. This research aims to criticize the presence of AI as a challenge in realizing freedom of speech on social media. With the analysis using communicative action theory, it sees that modern society has been dehumanized and alienated so that critical analysis is needed to overcome injustice and social change to be articulated based on the values embraced by society more fairly. The approach used is qualitative with data collection methods through literature studies. The conclusion shows that the use of algorithms has eliminated the authentic position of humans in the face of artificial intelligence

Abstract

The increasing demand for airplane tickets for Umrah has made Dream Aviation collaborate with Lion Air Group to get charter flights for Umrah. Dream Aviation is one of Dream Tour's business units that specializes in charter flights for Umrah pilgrims departing from several major cities in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out how the negotiation stages of Dream Aviation with Lion Air Group in obtaining airplane charters for Umrah worship. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The research data was collected through the interview method with two key informants from Dream Aviation. Based on the results of the research, the negotiation process between Dream Aviation and Lion Air Group to obtain an airplane charter for Umrah involves several stages described by Bill Scott (1993). These stages include exploration, offering, bargaining, settlement, and ratification. Through careful preparation and building a positive negotiation climate, Dream Aviation successfully submitted the first offer with consideration of market prices and field issues submitted to Lion Air Group. After the bargaining process, both parties reached an agreement with Lion Air Group agreeing to provide several seats under Dream Aviation's request. Thus, an agreement was reached with a win-win solution and was outlined in a contract letter valid for one season with the possibility of an extension for the following season.
