Abstract

The ability to write descriptive prose is influenced by a person's linguistic insights and language skills, which can be actualized through regular writing practice. This quantitative research with a correlational approach aims to examine the relationship between the frequency of writing practice and the ability to write descriptive prose of grade X students of SMK Immanuel Kabanjahe, 2023 school year. Data was taken from 45 students in grades X-2 as a sample representing a population of 135 students. Data collection techniques are done through interviews, questionnaires, and essay tests. Data analysis uses the Product Moment correlation statistical technique. The results showed a significant relationship between the frequency of writing practice and the ability to write descriptive prose with an R_value of 0.871, which was higher than the r-value in the table of 0.294. It is proven that the frequency of writing practice plays an important role in improving students' descriptive prose writing skills.

The informants in this study consisted of 2 Islamic Religious Education teachers, school principals, curriculum representatives, and eight students. The data will be gathered through observations, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing of a conclusion. The results of this study show that the PAI learning strategy is used to improve students' communication skills by using a student-centered learning approach (Student Centered Learning) or a scientific approach, as well as presentation and discussion learning methods. The use of PAI learning strategies in improving students' communication skills from this study shows that the PAI learning strategies used are effective, which can be seen from students' responses to PAI learning strategies used in improving students' communication skills.

The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, utilizing a pretest-posttest Nonequivalent Control Group. The study population includes tenth-grade students at SMA Cerdas Murni, and the sample was selected using purposive sampling techniques. The sample consisted of 29 students from class X-4 in the experimental group and 26 students from class X-3 in the control group. The data were obtained from self-control questionnaires filled out by students both before (pretest) and after (posttest) the counseling services were provided. The data source included responses from 55 students who participated in the study. The instrument used is a. Data analysis was carried out using the t-test after normality and homogeneity tests were conducted. The results of the study showed an Asymp.sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the hypothesis is accepted (H1). Classical counseling services were proven to significantly improve students' self-control. Students who received these services showed greater self-control improvement compared to those who did not. Abstract

This research aims to understand the following matters: 1) How to develop the prescribed book for teaching Arabic using the Audiolingual to enhance language skills, 2) The evaluation of linguistic and material experts regarding this book, 3) The experimental results of this book in enhancing language skills. The research methodology follows the pattern outlined by Sugiono in his book on scientific research. The researcher used testing, observation sheets, documents, and interviews to collect data. The research is conducted through the following steps: reviewing potential resources and identifying problems in the research field, collecting information about the product, designing the product according to theory, evaluating by experts, revising the product based on expert suggestions, testing the product in both the control and experimental classes and correcting the product (error correction based on some experimental feedback). For data analysis, to infer the comparison between two classes or pre- and post-teaching, statistical tests such as the paired t-test can be used. The t-test estimates the true difference between the means of two groups by comparing the difference in group means to the combined standard error of the groups. The research results indicate that the book was designed according to the theory explained by Ahmad Fouad in his book. After evaluation by both material and media experts, the book was deemed suitable for experimentation, with an 80% success rate in the trial phase. Following the experiment, the control class showed lower results than the experimental class, demonstrating that the Audiolingualis more effective and better for teaching Arabic. The success rate using this method was 88%.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of individual counseling services with a reality counseling approach in increasing self-acceptance in children in orphanages. The study used an experimental method with a Pre-Experiment model and The One Group Pretest and post-test design. The population in this study was all 378 orphanage children, and the subjects used in the study were five orphanage children using a purposive random sampling technique. Self-acceptance was measured using a Likert scale before and after the counseling intervention. The primary data source used in the study was the test results from 5 informants (children in orphanages), and secondary data using sources relevant to the study. Data collection techniques used observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to test for significant differences between the pretest and posttest. The results showed that individual counseling services with a reality counseling approach significantly increased children's self-acceptance. Through a series of counseling sessions, children learn to face the realities of their lives more positively and adaptively, develop higher self-awareness, and build effective coping skills. These findings provide important contributions to the fields of psychology and counseling, especially in helping children in orphanages develop self-acceptance and face life challenges more optimistically. Although this study has limitations, such as a small sample size, the results provide a strong basis for similar interventions in the future.

Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interview, and documentation review. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction to summarize relevant information, data presentation in the form of tables or diagrams, and conclusion drawing and verification through a triangulation process. This stage was carried out interactively until the data reached saturation, allowing the identification of supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of character education and formulating relevant recommendations to improve learning at SDN 104298 Simpang Empat. From this research, the results obtained are five character values that must be applied at SDN 104298 Simpang Empat, namely religious character, honesty, independence, nationalism, and social care. There are several supporting factors in the application of character, namely (1) innate, (2) personality, and (3) family. In addition to supporting factors, there are also inhibiting factors in this application, namely (1) the limited time students spend at school. (2) parents who lack time for students at home due to the busy work of parents, (3) the community environment. To overcome the obstacles in implementing character education, teachers and principals need to follow the deepening of character education. Teachers must familiarize students with the existing school culture to students.
