Abstract

This recent study was conducted in the former residency of Madiun, East Java. The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of counseling media as tools for Buddhist counselors. The counseling media involved posters, short videos, and PowerPoint presentations. The population of the study consisted of Buddhist people living in the former residency of Madiun, and the sample was selected using a simple random sampling. The total respondents of the study were 50 Buddhist participants who met the criteria for the research. The data for this study were collected using pretests and posttests. The quasi-experimental design used in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of these tests were then analyzed statistically using SPSS to determine the effectiveness of the counseling media. The analysis focused on comparing pretest and posttest scores to assess the improvement in participants' knowledge after receiving treatment through the counseling media. The results of the study showed that all three counseling media—posters, short videos, and PowerPoint presentations—are effective tools for counseling, as the posttest values were higher than the pretest values. Among the three media, the PowerPoint presentations achieved the highest average score, indicating their superior effectiveness in enhancing knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of science learning in forming the awareness of environmental love among grade V elementary school students at SD N 118 Gresik. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with source triangulation through observation and documentation and method triangulation through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), carried out on 20 students and homeroom teachers of grade V of SD Negeri 118 Gresik during science learning. The data analysis method goes through several stages: data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and data verification. The study results showed that the science learning of the material "Humans and Waste" at SD Negeri 118 Gresik gave students an understanding of the types of waste, its impact on the environment, and the importance of waste management through discussions and presentations. Although students show enthusiasm, maintaining environmental cleanliness has not been fully internalized in daily practice, especially in applying the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle. It appears that science learning has successfully formed the awareness of environmental love among students in class V of SDN 118 Gresik.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the use of Guided Inquiry-Based Student Worksheets (LKPD) in improving science literacy and science learning outcomes of grade 4 students on the topic of changes in the state of matter. A quantitative research approach was applied using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. Data collection techniques in this research used written tests, student scientific literacy questionnaires, observation, interviews, and data analysis. The population is 43 students in class 4 of SDN in two schools in one cluster, namely UPT SD Negeri Jeblog and UPT SD Negeri Kaweron 2. Statistical analysis included Two-Way Anova to evaluate differences between groups. The two-way ANOVA results showed significant differences in scientific literacy and learning outcomes between the experimental group (guided inquiry) and the control group (conventional method). The experimental group showed a greater increase in scientific literacy (average N-Gain = 33.28%) than the control group (average N-Gain = 23.45%). Learning outcomes also increased more significantly in the experimental group (average N-Gain = 20.69%) compared to the control group (average N-Gain = 11.23%), with a sig. 0.042 < 0.05. Hypothesis testing shows significant differences in scientific literacy and learning outcomes based on initial abilities and learning methods (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The use of guided inquiry-based LKPD significantly improves scientific literacy and student learning outcomes, and is recommended for encouraging critical thinking and active participation in basic science education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the cultural identity of pesantren cadres through the rite of self-endowment (waqf basyari) at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG). The research employs a qualitative field methodology with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with eight informants (two pesantren leaders, four senior cadres, and two junior cadres), and documentation. Data analysis followed Spradley’s ethnographic method, including identifying social domains, semantic relationship analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and the identification of cultural themes. The findings reveal that the wakaf diri ritual at PMDG comprises three phases of a rite of passage: separation, liminality, and incorporation. Upon completing these phases, cadres gain a new status as wakaf cadres with a cultural identity encompassing symbolic and intrinsic dimensions. The symbolic identity includes the cadres' daily roles in educating students, assisting the pesantren, and pursuing studies, balanced by entitlements such as welfare as members of the pesantren community. The intrinsic identity consists of three core dimensions: (1) achievements in academic and non-academic fields, (2) dedication through the sacrifice of time, effort, thoughts, and even life, and (3) loyalty manifested as a commitment to PMDG's values, leadership, and system. The intrinsic identity reflects self-development, dedication, and profound love for the pesantren. This ritual shapes cadres who are loyal and uphold the values of the pesantren in their lives.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the impact of local wisdom on the effectiveness of Indonesian language learning and how the integration of local values can improve students' motivation and understanding. The research method used is SLR research (Systematic Literature Review). The stages of this method are Planningode, Data Collection, Analysis Stage, and Synthesis. Through a literature review of ten relevant journals, this research identifies various positive aspects, such as increased student engagement, character development, and enrichment of the learning context. However, it also found challenges in implementing local wisdom, including a lack of resources and training for teachers. The results of this study show that the application of local wisdom in Indonesian language learning not only enriches students' learning experience but also strengthens their love for their culture and language. Recommendations for educators and education policymakers are proposed to integrate local wisdom more systematically in the curriculum.
