Abstract

This study's goal is to provide an overview of the macroergonomics approach, which is used to evaluate work systems and make improvements to working conditions and efficiency. A process for the system evaluation was developed using the pertinent framework, Macroergonomic Analysis and Design (MEAD). Using the MEAD framework, the system may be assessed more completely overall, and any conflicts can be resolved to fully harmonize the system. A thematic analysis of papers addressing macroergonomic analysis and design (MEAD) is the methodology used in this study. To successfully complete a research project using this methodology, ten steps must be followed. The ten steps are as follows: examining the subsystem of organizational and environmental design; identifying the type of manufacturing system and establishing performance benchmarks; outlining work procedures and unit operations; detecting variances; generating the matrix of variances; establishing the role network and key variance control table; allocating functions and designing jointly; recognizing the views of roles and responsibilities; creating and modifying interfaces and supporting subsystems; putting into practice, refining, and upgrading.

Abstract

PT XYZ is one of the companies in the snack food industry that focuses on processing biscuits. There is still waste in the production process, such as waiting and transportation, which adds time to the production process and makes it longer. To reduce waste and improve business efficiency, this research uses lean methodology and value stream mapping to ensure the biscuit processing production process runs smoothly. The results of the research that has been done, there is a decrease in non-value-added time by 13.27 minutes from 22.77 minutes, a total lead time of 68.32 minutes from 77.82 minutes, and process cycle efficiency increased by 75.29% from 66.10%. This shows that implementing lean methods using value stream mapping can improve the company's efficiency and productivity.

Abstract

Cultivating health and occupational safety among fishermen can involve various strategies, such as reviewing movies for insights. These films serve as reflections of the relevance to the cultural aspects of fishermen's health and safety, contributing to the Health and Occupational Safety Triangle or Hierarchy Control. Hierarchy Control, a sequential risk reduction process, encompasses elimination, substitution, design, administration, and personal protective equipment (PPE). The study aims to reduce or eliminate work accidents for fishermen, utilizing planning hierarchy control with an approach involving Macro Ergonomics, Semiotics, and the Fogg Behavior Model. Findings identify a minimal health and safety culture during service, leading to the design of three hierarchy controls: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machines and equipment (administrative control), ship closures for noise reduction (engineering controls), and the implementation of Personal Protective Equipment. However, elimination and substitution remain challenging to implement in daily service activities.

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate and analyze some previous literature relevant to the Design for Manufacture and Assembly and Design for Safety methods in international journals. An extensive review and analysis of the body of literature was conducted to discuss the findings in a few chosen papers pertaining to the application of both methods, using a survey based on descriptive and qualitative surveys published in international journals with publication period limitations from 2011 to 2023 published in proceedings and electronic journals in English. So far, there has never been any research or literature review that discusses the Integration of Design for Manufacture and Assembly with Design for Safety.

Abstract

Today's most significant challenge facing the industry is delivering good quality products quickly, at the lowest possible cost, and flexibly in meeting demand. In terms of timing accuracy, companies must have good internal logistics, one of which is good warehouse management. Productivity in warehouses can be achieved by improving efficiency in warehouse operations, thus resulting in a faster response to customer requests. In improving productivity, it is necessary first to identify unexpected activity. This study demonstrates the importance of applying Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in Supply Chain Management (SCM), particularly internal logistics in the warehouse area, by linking the ergonomics principle with the systematic literature review approach. LSS and ergonomics are mutually complementary methodologies to meet the challenges of SCM in order to have a competitive advantage in business.

Abstract

The surge in LPG consumption within Indonesian households, coupled with stagnant LPG production, has compelled the government to import 75% of LPG by 2022. Despite initial plans for a transition to electric stoves in 2023, the program was halted due to widespread public resistance to electric stove technology. The rejection was attributed, in part, to low trust in this emerging technology, emphasizing the pivotal role of trust in influencing technological acceptance. In response, this research endeavors to construct a robust and reliable model capturing trust in the acceptance of electric stove technology. Utilizing the PLS Structural Equation Model method for data analysis, the focus centers on two trust indicators: propensity trust and human-machine trust. In the quest for a valid model, the statistical modeling technique considers five initial hypotheses developed with 32 trust-related items. Upon analysis, one hypothesis is rejected, while four are accepted. Notably, the trust human-machine (THM) variable emerges as a significant influencer of trust for electric stove technology (TTK), substantiated by a path coefficient of 0.917 and p = <0.001. Thus, the resulting model takes on a reflective form, offering insights into the intricate dynamics of trust in the acceptance of electric stove technology.

Abstract

The airline industry has rapidly evolved, fostering intense competition among companies. This competition drives airlines to formulate strategies for revenue maximization, giving rise to Revenue Management. This literature review spans the past 13 years, examining the development of Airline Revenue Management methods. By analyzing 22 journals with at least Q2 and SINTA 2 indexing, three primary scopes emerge: Quantity Decision, Pricing Decision, and Structural Decision. Airlines predominantly employ dynamic pricing and programming to optimize revenue by adapting to ongoing changes. The development trend in Airline Revenue Management indicates a shift towards faster and more accurate processing through increased integration with simulation and algorithm programming. This paper identifies the three main scopes involved in revenue management strategies and explores the diverse approaches airlines take to optimize income. Notably, dynamic pricing and programming remain prevalent methods, adapting to changing decision variables. The evolving landscape emphasizes integration with advanced technology for efficient processing. The study utilizes numerical and case studies to exemplify the ongoing development of Airline Revenue Management methods within this dynamic industry.

Abstract

PT. Varia Usaha Beton is a subsidiary of PT. Semen Indonesia Beton, which produces various types of products. PT Varia Usaha Beton (BSP Purwokerto) has an open work area where there are potential hazards such as physical factors, chemical factors and ergonomic factors. The aim of this research is to identify hazards, assess risks and control risks in the production process of ready-mixed concrete so that workplace accidents can be minimized. The methods used in this research are task risk assessment and bowtie analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that 1 risk belonged to the low category, 27 risks belonged to the medium category, and 11 risks belonged to the high category. Based on the bow-tie method, the major risks are exposure to fly ash and cement dust, risk of diesel spills, and risk of electric shock. The main causes of workplace accidents are pipe leaks and improper diesel filling. The main risk effects of workplace accidents are worker injury, and fire. The bowtie analysis method determines that the risk of electric shock is due to a damaged cable and the existing protective barrier is intended to replace the damaged cable. This risk has consequences, namely injuries to workers.

Abstract

The high level of competition both in the industry and in the field of services, so it requires every organization to make improvements. For the quality of health services to continue to be guaranteed to patients, efforts need to be made to improve service quality and also reduce operational costs. Therefore, the concept of lean is proposed to address this problem in healthcare. This paper aims to explore lean implementation in healthcare using review literature obtained from the Google Scholar database of 150 articles with publication years from 2019-2023. The findings of this paper provide suggestions for future research regarding lean trends in healthcare, which shows the importance of adopting lean in healthcare for future improvement. In addition, this paper also shows to develop a lean healthcare model in industry 4.0, lean six sigma and also pay attention to the supporting and inhibiting factors of lean healthcare implementation.
