The treatment group consisted of 18 samples, the control group consisted of 19 samples. Data were collected before and after being given health education to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and motivation of women of childbearing age in preventing of CED and anemia in pregnancy using a questionnaire. The result showed there was a difference in knowledge before and after being given health education using both audiovisual media and flip sheets with a p value for both groups of 0.005. There was no difference in attitudes and motivation before and after being given health education using either audiovisual media or flip sheets with a p value > 0.05. The difference test between the two groups showed no significant differences in the use of audiovisual media and flip sheet media with a p value for each knowledge, attitude and motivation variable > 0.05.

Abstract

Social stigma can encourage people to hide their illness so that they are not discriminated against, prevent them from seeking medical assistance immediately, and prevent them from carrying out healthy lifestyle behaviors without realizing it will cause more transmission to others. The aim of the study was to carry out a phenomenological survey of social interventions to reduce the stigma against WUS in breaking the chain of transmission of Covid-19 in the working area of the Medan Helvetia Health Center. The target to be achieved from this research is the formation of cooperation in tackling the transmission of Covid-19 which involves all community leaders, especially WUS. The research was carried out in Helvetia District, the working area of the Helvetia Health Center, Medan City. The research method was carried out using a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach used is participatory action research. The research procedures to be carried out are engagement/intake, data collection and need assessment (phenomenological survey), model formulation, intervention and monitoring and evaluation and termination. Data collection methods were carried out by sharing, in-depth interviews, (FGD) and questionnaires. Interactive model analysis is used to analyze qualitative data on phenomenological surveys and the process of conducting participatory action research. The results of the research, the phenomenological survey generally closed oneself when exposed to Covid-19, did not tell neighbors, friends or family but after recovering they were told, with the aim of not being ostracized or avoided by the local community. The FGD was conducted to look at the problems found in the phenomenological survey, and the results of the discussion resulted in a social intervention, namely the training of the Covid-19 Task Force as counselees in reducing the stigma of Covid-19, carried out for 3 days. Implementation of participatory action research requires a long time to be able to see changes in behavior and social change, for this reason further research is needed to see the persistence of interventions carried out by the Covid-19 Task Force.

Abstract

Blood transfusion is a series of blood transfer process from a donor to a recipient. Blood is stored in the refrigerator with temperature 2-8 °c. In the blood storage process will experience changes in blood components such as platelet count. The researcher aims to determine the effect of long blood storage on platelet count on whole blood before and after being stored for three days at PMI Medan Blood Donor Unit. This research was done by descriptive method of Hematology Analyzer presented in table form. This research took place from 21-23 May 2018 at the Laboratory of Blood Transfusion Unit of Indonesian Red Cross Medan. Thenumber of samples used for the research is 10 samples. The result is the effect of storage duration on the decrease of platelet count where there is a decrease of platelet count in all donor blood samples stored for three days at PMI Medan Blood Donor Unit.Based on existing conclusions, then the suggestion that can be taken is every blood donor unit always do repeat examination for blood component level which will be transfused. For patients who will melaksanakna transfuse, you should use fresh blood. Blood should not be taken out frequently and blood refrigerator do not often open the lid. It is recommended for the same researchers in the future to increase the number of samples so that the results can be more accurate

Abstract

Demonstration of how to brush teeth is a teaching method by presenting lessons through direct demonstration of the object or showing a process or procedure. Roll Technique is the method most often recommended because it is simple but efficient and can be used throughout the mouth. Debris Index (DI) is a score (value) of soft deposits that occur due to food residue attached to the tooth surface. This study aims to determine the status of the debris index before and after a demonstration of brushing teeth using the roll technique. The type of research is experimental research with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The total population was 52 students and the total sample was 48 students, the time of the research was in May 2019 at Kartika XXI-5 Manado Elementary School. This research was to see the difference in debris index status before and after the demonstration method of brushing teeth using the roll technique using a paired sample t test. The results of this study showed that the average debris index before the demonstration of brushing teeth using the roll technique for 48 respondents was 2.31, while the average debris index after the demonstration of brushing teeth using the roll technique for 48 respondents was 1.48. The calculated t value is 10.335 with a sig of 0.000. because sig <0.05, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means there is a difference in the status of the debris index before and after a demonstration of brushing teeth using the roll technique for students in class IV & V at Kartika XXI-5 Elementary School, Manado.

Abstract

The most common anemia in pregnancy is anemia due to iron deficiency. Anemia during pregnancy can cause health problems during pregnancy or during childbirth. Serious disorders can cause death in the mother. Maternal deaths are related to pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. Anemia in pregnancy can be detected by checking the Hb/Haemoglobin levels in the blood of pregnant women. The first examination is carried out before the 12th week of pregnancy and the 28th week. If the Hb level is <11 gr% in pregnancy, it is declared anemia and must be given iron tablet supplements regularly, 1 tablet/day for 90 days. This type of research is descriptive with an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional design with the aim of finding out the relationship between pregnant women's knowledge about anemia and the incidence of anemia. The number of samples is the total population, namely all 30 pregnant women who visited the Poriaha Health Center. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires about anemia and checking the Hb of pregnant women. The results of the research showed that the majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge about anemia, namely 19 people (63.3%) and the minority of respondents had insufficient knowledge, namely 3 people (10.0%). It was found that the majority of pregnant women did not experience anemia, namely 18 people (60.0%) and the minority of respondents experienced anemia, namely 12 people (40.0%). So there is a significant relationship between the variable level of knowledge and the incidence of anemia at the Poriaha Community Health Center, Central Tapanuli Regency with a value of p = 0.041 < 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between pregnant women's knowledge about anemia and the incidence of anemia. It is hoped that the Community Health Center will further improve services to pregnant women in dealing with the risk of anemia by providing health education to increase knowledge about anemia during pregnancy.

The total sample size is all 35 street food traders. The data was analyzed using the chi square test. Based on the results of the chi square test, there is a relationship between knowledge of food sanitation hygiene measures with a p value of 0.019, and there is a relationship between attitudes towards food sanitation hygiene measures with a p value of 0.019. The research conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge and action and there is a relationship between attitude and action.
