Abstract

Plaque is a soft and sticky layer that sticks to teeth consisting of protein and bacteria. Removing plaque from the surface of the teeth is not only by brushing your teeth, but also by gargling with mouthwash that contains antibacterial substances. Honey is able to stop the development of bacteria in the mouth which causes a reduction in the plaque layer so that it can influence a decrease in the plaque index in a person's mouth. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of gargling forest honey solution (Apis Dorsata) on the plaque index in Level 1 Students of the Department of Dental Health, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Manado. This research method uses a tru experimental method to determine the influence between variables. This research was carried out on 19-23 May 2023 at the Department of Dental Health, Poltekkes, Ministry of Health, Manado. The total population is 51 people, and the sample is the total population. Sampling was determined based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. So the sample obtained in this research was 50 people. The data obtained was tabulated and analyzed using the paired sample t-test statistical test. And this research instrument uses a diagnostic tool and plaque index assessment format. The results of the study showed that the average before gargling with honey solution was 3.16 and after gargling with honey solution was 1.19, with a difference of 1.97. Based on analysis using the paired sample t-test, it shows that there is a significant difference seen from the p value = 0.000 (0.000 <0.05). This means that gargling with honey solution has an effect on reducing the plaque index.

Abstract

The immune responses that play a role in DHF cases are Immunoglobulin M (IgM) and Immunoglobulin G (IgG). In primary Dengue infection, IgM begins to form and is detected on the third to fifth day, whereas in secondary Dengue infection, IgG levels will increase and then remain in the human body with low titers for life. Thrombocytopenia occurs in DHF patients due to antigen-antibody reactions and activation of the complement system which causes deposition of IgM and IgG immune cells on the surface of platelet cells. This causes reticuloendothelial cells to destroy platelets so that DHF patients will experience thrombocytopenia. To find out the analysis of dengue IgG and IgM examination on the results of platelet counts in dengue hemorrhagic fever patients at Prof. Teaching Hospital. dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis, University of North Sumatra. The research used is descriptive quantitative. The examination method used is Dengue IgG and IgM Dengue Rapid Test, Platelet Count Examination using a Hematology Analyzer. The number of respondents is 11 samples taken by total sampling technique. Based on the results of a study of Dengue IgG and IgM in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever patients at Prof. Teaching Hospital. dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis, University of North Sumatra who had IgG + and IgM levels - more, namely 10 (92%) patients, IgG - and IgM + as many as 1 (8%) patients. Based on the number of platelets obtained in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever patients at Prof. Teaching Hospital. dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubisa, University of North Sumatra, which decreased by 9 patients, and there were some who had normal platelet counts of 2 patients. There is no relationship between Dengue IgG and IgM on platelet count in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Since 1995, Indonesia began to adopt the Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse Chemotherapy (DOTS) system in controlling tuberculosis. The main drugs recommended in this system are Antituberculosis Drugs (OAT) consisting of Isoniazid (H), Rifampicin (R), Pyrazinamide (Z), and Ethambutol (E). The use of Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs can cause side effects which are still other problems, such as liver damage which is characterized by an increase in transaminase enzymes. Therefore, monitoring liver function is very important. The routine examination carried out is a serum transaminase examination, namely SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT). Therefore, monitoring liver function is very important. The routine examination carried out is a serum transaminase examination, namely SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT). Objective: the aim of this study is to determine whether there is a difference between SGOT and SGPT levels before and after treatment with Antituberculosis Drugs .
