Abstract

I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Indonesia, due to the increasing number of air transportation service users. This research was conducted to determine the possibility of an increase in passengers every year for 20 years and provide alternative solutions that might be used at this airport if there are facilities that are no longer able to operate maximally. The method used in this research is an analysis of the average and linear trend using time series data from 2013 - 2022, then the method with the smallest standard deviation and the best correlation is chosen, namely the linear trend method. In conclusion, the increase in passengers based on the equation results reaches 3.249% and it causes some facilities to be no longer able to accommodate and operate optimally such as baggage claim devices, gate passport control, and arrival halls. Alternative applicable solutions must be found in these facilities, so that they can work optimally, such as expanding the number of tools and processing early on for gate passport control and generally providing solutions such as reconfiguring the terminal area, peak hour deployment, and technological innovation.

Abstract

The overflow of the Sadar River often causes flooding, which is detrimental to the community. Effective measures to address the flood problem require a good quality and quantity of rainfall data. This study aims to develop an isohyetal map of design rainfall for various return periods using the interpolation linear method. The design rainfall is computed using frequency analysis of Log Normal, Gumbel, and Log Person III distributions with return periods of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 years. The isohyet map was produced using the Inverse Distance Weight (IDW) and spline interpolation methods. The map results are then evaluated against the design rainfall values obtained from the frequency analysis using the NSE and RSR parameters. The IDW and spline interpolation maps show an excellent level of fit. Furthermore, the isohyet map was compared with the design rainfall map issued by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, which shows a level of fit of 49.693% for the IDW method and 33.194% for the spline method. The results confirmed that the IDW method is the most accurate to estimate isohyet map of design rainfall in the study area.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (K3) is an important aspect that must be considered in construction projects to prevent work accidents. This study aims to analyze potential risks and determine control measures using the Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Determining Control (HIRADC) method on a chiller replacement work at a hotel renovation project in Jakarta, Indonesia. Potential hazards were identified through direct observation, worker interviews, and document review. Risk assessment was carried out by calculating the likelihood and severity scores to determine risk levels. Several control measures were implemented based on the risk hierarchy. A risk comparison before and after implementing controls showed a reduction in risk levels. Structural analysis using ETABS proved that the temporary reinforcement provided structural safety. The estimated cost of Rp. 250,456,350 met K3 budget provisions. This study demonstrates that risk analysis using HIRADC is effective in reducing risks and ensuring K3 aspects in construction works.

Abstract

Gajah Mada Road and Munginsidi Road in the Bojonegoro district are important roads for the local community. The existence of these various necessary facilities and means will have an impact on the relatively dense traffic volume. Based on the review of the study location and the results of the survey as well as the data collection and processing carried out, the following research results were obtained: The capacity of the Monginsidi Road section is 1,185.52 PCU/hour with a degree of saturation of 0.59, while on the Gajah Mada Road section the capacity of the section roads amounted to 2,836.78 PCU/hour with a degree of saturation of 0.79. Traffic flow performance is determined by the level of road service, the road service level is classified as level C with the description that the flow is stable, but vehicle speed and movement are controlled. On the Gajah Mada Road section, the road service level is classified as level D with the description that the flow is approaching unstable, speed can still be controlled, and Q/Can still be tolerated. To create effective and efficient conditions, namely the realization of orderly, smooth, and comfortable traffic flow, there must be a balance between facilities and facility users so that various traffic problems can be resolved as early as possible.

Abstract

Floods commonly occur in big cities with huge population densities. The increasing population number can cause a decrease in open land and green open space areas. It increases the surface runoff and induces inundation due to inadequate channel capacity. Therefore, a better design is required to minimize the inundation depth and area. This research aims to evaluate the drainage capacity of the channel dimension based on the flood discharge obtained from the rational method. The cross-section capacity was evaluated using the Storm Water Management Model by considering two types of rainfall distribution. The simulation result shows that the rainfall distribution influences the channel capacity. The flood discharge based on the Sri Harto distribution has a lower peak discharge than the Tadashi Tanimoto distribution. The result shows the significant effect of rainfall distribution types on the water depth. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the rainfall distribution method that represents the watershed characteristics used to design the drainage system.

Abstract

Traffic congestion leads to significant losses in the form of extended travel times, fuel waste, and environmental degradation. This congestion primarily results from traffic volumes exceeding both highway and intersection capacities. To address these issues and ensure smooth traffic flow, it is crucial to evaluate intersection performance. This study focuses on the Duren Intersection in South Tangerang City, where Merpati Raya Street, Menjangan Raya Street, Cenderawasih Street, and KH. Dewantoro Street converge. The current situation at the Duren Intersection continues to cause congestion, as evidenced by traffic performance data. On weekdays during peak hours, the average vehicle queue length reaches 192.03 meters, with an average traffic delay of 42.153 seconds per vehicle, resulting in a Level of Service (LOS) E. On holidays, the peak hour average queue length is 128.71 meters, with an average delay of 25.126 seconds per vehicle, corresponding to a LOS D. Given these conditions, this study, titled "Arrangement of Unsignalized Intersections: A Case Study of Duren Intersection, Ciputat District," aims to analyze and propose improvements for the intersection's performance. The research will evaluate current traffic patterns, identify bottlenecks, and suggest potential solutions to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion at this critical junction in South Tangerang City.

Abstract

This study discusses how much influence the hot sun has on the strength of concrete. Concrete is widely used in construction, because it is cheap and easy to implement. Still, it also requires extensive knowledge regarding the nature of the basic concrete material, how to make it, and when to lay it so that it can produce maximum quality and quality when the concrete is laidThe  research aims to find out how much influence the hot sun during casting has on the compressive strength of concrete. In this research, test specimens were made for the concrete mixture with a design compressive strength of f'c = 20 MPa, using a cylinder with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm, and strength testing. press approach using hammer test. Casting was carried out in the morning, afternoon, and evening with different types of sunlight on one road section. The results of this research show that the hot sun during casting affects the compressive strength of the concrete produced. The heat of the sun is too hot, causing the concrete that is laid to crack easily and its compressive strength is low even though the concrete has been covered with geoteck and watered regularly.

Abstract

Makassar faces flooding challenges due to rapid urban development that lack of effective planning. Makassar faces heightened flood risks due to inadequate drainage infrastructure, particularly in areas with poor drainage systems and elevations between 0 and 4 meters above sea level. The city experiences substantial rainfall annually, as happened on February 13, 2023, which causes flooding at several points and is made worse by high tides. The study aims to investigate the existing conditions of the drainage channel in the Jongaya drainage system as well as evaluate the alternative condition proposed by the Public Works Agency of Makassar, assess planned flood discharge, determine channel dan Jeneberang Lama long storage capacity, and identify necessary drainage system support facilities.  Based on the simulation analysis results using Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) 5.2, flooding still occurs in the existing condition with a volume of 169,521 m³, as well as in the alternative condition with a volume of 148,477 m³. An evaluation was conducted for both conditions involving redesigning cross-sections, adjusting elevations, and planning 4 pumps and 2 sluice gates at the storage area outlet, which subsequently eliminated flooding in both conditions. The flood design observed in both conditions are 103.43 m³/s and 77.48 m³/s respectively.
