Abstract

An employee's attitude and behavior are significantly influenced by their experience working for a company. Employees will feel stressed in some situations and need to come up with ways to deal with the tension they will encounter. The purpose of this research is to know how perceived organizational support influence work meaningfulness, work engagement, and perceived stress, moderated by personality traits. In this research, primary data and secondary data are used, the primary data used is by distributing questionnaires to students who are already working. The research would be tested using the PLS-SEM program and the SPSS program to process data from the questionnaire. The study found that work engagement negatively influences perceived stress, with personality traits moderating this relationship. Personality traits also directly reduce perceived stress. Perceived organizational support (POS) positively influences perceived stress, work engagement, and work meaningfulness. Additionally, POS indirectly reduces stress through the mediating roles of work engagement, work meaningfulness, and their combination. Work meaningfulness enhances work engagement and, in turn, contributes to lowering stress. Furthermore, POS improves work engagement through the mediating effect of work meaningfulness. These findings highlight the importance of POS, meaningful work, and personality traits in fostering engagement and reducing stress in the workplace.

Abstract

Cigarettes have emerged as a significant commodity in Indonesia, notably impacting household expenditures, particularly among farmers. The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) has categorized cigarettes within the food group due to their substantial influence on the Food Poverty Line (FPL). In 2023, data from BPS Kabupaten Pamekasan indicated that cigarette expenditure per capita ranked second, following food and processed drinks. This trend is not confined to urban areas; it has permeated rural households, including those of farmers. This study aims to analyze the perceptions, motivations, and meanings associated with cigarette consumption among farmers in Samatan Village, as well as its impact on their household expenditures. Utilizing primary data from in-depth interviews and questionnaires, alongside secondary data from relevant literature and documentation, the findings reveal a strong connection between farmers and smoking. Motivations for continued smoking stem from familial and social influences, leading to a significant portion of their daily expenses being allocated to cigarettes rather than food or other necessities. The study concludes that, within the socio-cultural and economic context of Samatan Village, cigarette consumption parallels food expenditure levels. This underscores the necessity for policy harmonization and a comprehensive approach to address cigarette consumption issues, particularly among farmers.

Abstract

In 2001, the placement of PPPK teachers who had passed the PPPK selection was carried out in stages. During stages 3 and 4, the GTK division was given the authority to place and relocate PPPK teachers. However, in practice, issues were causing 1,000 out of 3,800 teachers (stage 3) and 1,000 out of 4,850 teachers (stage 4) to be assigned to inappropriate locations. Therefore, adequate organizational capacity is required. Organizational capacity is the ability of an organization to utilize its resources to solve problems and achieve established goals. This research was conducted at the West Java Provincial Education Office to determine the organizational capacity of the West Java Provincial Education Office in the field of Teachers and Education Personnel for placing PPPK teachers. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research method, employing data collection techniques from observations, documentation, and in-depth interviews with GTK staff who have authority over the placement of PPPK teachers. The results of this research are described based on the components of organizational capacity according to Horton et al. (2003), which consist of human resources, infrastructure, technology, financial resources, strategic leadership, program and process management, and cooperation and relations with other parties. he research results indicate that the organizational capacity in the Department of Education of West Java Province in the Teacher and Education Personnel Division (GTK) does not yet fully meet all five organizational capacity factors by Horton et al. in the placement of PPPK teachers. The unmet capacities include human resources, technology, cooperation, and relations. Meanwhile, the capacities for process and strategic leadership are considered fulfilled. The author concludes that the unmet capacities are due to the limited competence of employees, which affects other capacities

Abstract

PT XYZ, a startup in the Information Technology sector, developed an asset management application to digitalize the asset management process for its clients. However, as new features were added, the application became more complex, causing difficulties for new users. PT XYZ responded by introducing a customer service system to assist new users in exploring the company’s services and application features. To improve service efficiency while maintaining quality, the company opted to implement a chatbot. The chatbot was designed to provide automatic and responsive assistance, reducing the load on the customer service team and increasing user satisfaction. The author integrated NLP and NLU in designing the chatbot for PT XYZ using the open-source RASA framework. This framework was chosen for its strong capabilities in natural language processing and understanding conversational context. The NLP and NLU models are used to create a customer service engine in the form of text messages that answer questions specifically related to the use of the asset management application. By leveraging this technology, the chatbot can provide relevant and accurate responses, even when faced with variations in language and complex questions. Based on black box testing, the chatbot successfully recognized the intent behind user queries. The testing was conducted to evaluate how well the chatbot understood and responded to user questions. The results, using a confusion matrix, showed that precision, recall, accuracy, and f1-score all achieved a perfect score of 1.0.

Abstract

The concept of state digital-surveillance has been recognized as a significant factor impacting individual privacy and social dynamics, drawing greater attention in sociological literature. However, existing studies often examine digital surveillance, social control, and privacy in isolation, and there is limited empirical research establishing clear causal links between state digital-surveillance and its broader societal impacts. As a result, there is a need for a confirmatory study that addresses this gap. The literature on the relationship between state digital-surveillance and its effects on privacy and autonomy remains fragmented, with few comprehensive studies exploring how surveillance practices shape societal structures. This scoping review utilizes the PCC model of PRISMA guidelines to investigate these connections. It focuses on the causal relationship between state digital-surveillance, individual freedoms, and societal control, providing an overview of existing literature and identifying areas for further research. Specifically, this review highlights the intersection of digital surveillance and social behavior, offering insights that map the complex linkages between state digital-surveillance and its effects on modern society.

Abstract

Corporate Sustainability Performance (CSP) can be defined as a long-term competitive advantage owned by the company in obtaining the company's economic benefits by considering its environmental and social impacts without compromising the needs of the company's stakeholders. The low sustainability performance of companies in Indonesia is caused by a lack of understanding of the importance and benefits of sustainability practices, companies often view costs incurred due to environmental concerns as a reduction in income, limitations on resources (financial and labor), and lack of transparency in reporting due to shortcomings in the consistency of regulatory implementation. This study uses the concept of Resource-Based Theory (RBT) in analyzing and exploring how companies can utilize the resources they have to improve their corporate sustainability performance. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of company size and intellectual capital on corporate sustainability performance. This research was conducted on manufacturing companies in the consumer goods industry sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2023 period. The sampling method used was a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique and 202 observations were obtained. The data collection method uses documentation techniques. The results showed that company size has a significant positive effect on the company's sustainability performance, while intellectual capital has no significant effect on the company's sustainability performance. The implications of this study indicate that in line with the application of resource-based theory, where large companies are better able to implement good sustainability performance strategies. This research provides input and consideration to the company, regulators (government), and investors in paying attention to the company's sustainability performance by looking at the potential internal resources owned by the company. Future research is expected to use other indicators or measurement models to measure company size and intellectual capital, this aims to be comparable to the results of further research.
