Abstract

Operating systems play a crucial role in supporting network management, ensuring that devices are properly connected and security protocols are effectively implemented. As the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices increases, efficient operating systems facilitate integration and communication between these devices, which in turn increases efficiency and automation in various sectors, and has a real positive impact on our lives today. This study aims to describe the important role of operating systems in managing computer network connections. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data obtained from various sources, including e-books and journal articles related to operating systems and computer networks. Journal articles on network management, protocols, security, and performance, as well as research reports and case studies that discuss the role of operating systems in computer network connections. Based on the results of the data analysis, computer network connections are currently experiencing rapid progress with various innovations in network security technology also being a major focus, with technologies such as encryption, firewalls, and VPNs to protect data from cyber threats. However, without an efficient operating system, management and communication between devices in an IoT network can be hampered. The operating system is responsible for ensuring that devices can be properly connected, as well as managing the necessary security protocols.

Abstract

Collaboration skills in the 21st century are becoming an important aspect in education and the professional world. This study aims to analyse the validity and reliability of collaboration skills instruments using the Rasch Model. Quantitative method with survey design was applied to 100 students of Physics Education Study Programme at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Data was collected through a questionnaire consisting of 20 items, and analysis was conducted to measure item difficulty as well as individual ability using Rasch Model. The analysis results showed that after data cleaning, the assessment instrument had good reliability, with Person Reliability reaching 0.80 and Item Reliability 0.90. Results also identified that the most difficult collaboration skills to achieve were individual accountability and personal responsibility, whereas positive interdependence was relatively easier to achieve. This research provides important insights for collaboration skills assessment instruments in the context of physics education practicum, as well as recommendations for improving collaboration skills.

Abstract

The digital era brings significant changes in the marketing landscape, requiring companies to adapt quickly to technological dynamics and changes in consumer behavior. This article aims to analyze the application of Value Chain Strategy in marketing and identify how this strategy can help companies turn challenges into opportunities in the digital era. This research uses a literature study approach by collecting and analyzing information from various relevant sources regarding the application of Value Chain Strategy and the challenges faced by companies in the digital era. The results show that companies that are successful in implementing Value Chain Strategy have integrated digital technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data analytics, into every stage of the value chain. This helps increase efficiency, improve product quality, and strengthen relationships with suppliers and customers. However, challenges such as the need for adequate technology infrastructure, digital skills gaps, and resistance to change still need to be overcome. The implications of this study emphasize the need for companies to undertake comprehensive strategic change. Companies should invest in technological infrastructure and improve the digital skills of the workforce.

Abstract

Organizations are faced with the challenge of remaining competitive and relevant. One important approach that can be used to address these challenges is the implementation of sustainable human resource management (HRM). Sustainable HR management plays an important role in building an adaptive and inclusive organizational culture, which can support innovation, employee engagement, and overall organizational performance. The purpose of this study is to identify how the implementation of sustainable HR management can support the formation of an adaptive and inclusive organizational culture. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, which includes an analysis of scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2024. The research shows that the implementation of sustainable HR management, which includes inclusive recruitment practices, continuous employee development, high employee engagement, and fair performance evaluation, plays an important role in creating an organizational culture that is responsive to change and promotes inclusion. Organizations that integrate sustainability values in their HR practices were found to be better able to adapt to changes in the external and internal environment.    The implication of these findings is that organizations should proactively adopt sustainable HR practices to ensure long-term success.

Abstract

Job rotation is one of the employee development activities that aims to improve and maintain employee performance. Implementation of job rotation policies in the public sector in Indonesia experiences various challenges, including bureaucratic characteristics that prioritize compliance so that job rotations are associated as punishment and political factors that cause job rotations to be exploited by certain parties for their interests. Based on the phenomenon, this exploratory research seeks to explore the perspective of civil servants (PNS) in interpreting the job rotation policy. The findings in this research illustrate that job rotation policy is a dispersion that produces various spectrums. Job rotation has a pliable nature and paradoxical benefits indicate that the job rotation policy has not been implemented consistently across multiple government agencies. The five main perspectives in this research provide an overview of the contradictory perspectives of civil servants. Some civil servants think that job rotations have a positive impact, while others think otherwise. These contradictions show the richness of information and a wide variety of answers and show that job rotation policies are pliable and have paradoxical benefits.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the October 7, 2023 escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict on companies targeted by boycott threats due to their alleged ties to Israel. Using abnormal returns (AR) and trading volume activity (TVA) as key indicators of stock performance, the research analyzes changes across 5-day, 30-day, and 120-day event windows. An event study methodology is applied to assess shifts in these indicators before and after the boycott threat. The results show a significant difference in TVA in the 5-day and 30-day event windows, indicating notable changes in trading behavior following the boycott. However, significant differences in abnormal returns were observed only in the 5-day window, with no significant changes in the 30-day and 120-day windows. Similarly, no significant difference in TVA was found in the 120-day event window, suggesting that the effects of the boycott diminished over time. These findings suggest that while the boycott influenced trading volume in the short term, its impact on stock prices, as measured by abnormal returns, was brief and faded over time.
