Abstract

Learning the subject of Man-made Features in elementary school often faces challenges, such as the presentation of abstract concepts and the lack of visual representation in conventional media. This research addresses this gap by designing a set of engaging and cheerful 2D assets as a technological learning solution. This study aims to design a 2D illustration asset package capable of visualizing various Man-made Features in an appealing and easily comprehensible manner. Employing a Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology, the process involved three stages: analysis, design, and evaluation. The analysis phase identified students' visual needs and style preferences to establish a robust design concept. This concept was then realized in the design phase through sketching and the creation of a visual style guide, including color palettes and typography. The final stage involved the evaluation of the designed assets. The primary output of this research is a comprehensive illustration set, which includes highly detailed 2D assets, a consistent user interface (UI) with a fresh aesthetic, a logotype, and gamification elements such as puzzles. The significance of these assets lies in their potential to capture the interest and imagination of elementary students, thereby significantly enhancing their understanding of the Man-made Features curriculum.

Abstract

This community service was motivated by the absence of an English language course institution in Mata Air Tarus Village. As a non-formal educational institution, a course institution plays an important role in improving the competence and skills of the community, especially in the field of English as an international language. However, the establishment of a course institution must comply with applicable regulations. This community service aims to provide an understanding to the Village Head and Village Officials of Mata Air Tarus, as well as the founders of the language course institution, regarding the legal aspects of establishing such an institution. The methods used in this community service include surveys, presentations, and discussions or question-and-answer sessions. The results of the community service and discussions revealed that the establishment of a course institution must comply with the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation Number 81 of 2013 on the Establishment of Non-Formal Education Units to avoid conflicting with existing laws and regulations. The recommendations provided are the need for a unified understanding among the Village Head, Village Officials, Course Institution Founders, and the Education Office to ensure the implementation of Non-Formal Education that can improve the quality of the community.

Abstract

Pet ownership, particularly of cats and dogs, has been increasingly recognized as contributing to human health and well-being. Globally, cardiovascular disease and stress-related disorders remain significant health burdens, including in Indonesia where the prevalence of hypertension continues to rise. This study analyzed the relationship between keeping cats and dogs with stress reduction and blood pressure levels among 150 adult respondents in Sidoarjo using chi-square and Spearman correlation tests. The findings demonstrated that individuals who owned or interacted regularly with pets showed significantly lower levels of stress and better cardiovascular responses compared to those without pets. This suggests that cats and dogs can play a complementary role in community-based health promotion strategies by providing natural, non-pharmacological support to mental and physical health. The results further highlight the potential integration of animal-assisted approaches in public health programs, emphasizing their accessibility and sustainability. Future research is encouraged to explore long-term impacts and differences across demographic groups to strengthen the application of pet-assisted health interventions.

Abstract

This community service activity focused on improving the understanding of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding accuracy for surgical cases at RSKB Ropanasuri Padang. The main problem identified was the difficulty medical record officers faced in correctly interpreting medical terminology used by doctors, especially in surgical diagnoses. This often led to inaccurate coding, impacting the hospital's data and finances. The solution provided was a comprehensive training session, which included socialization, case studies, and discussions to enhance participants' understanding of medical terminology and improve their ICD-10 coding skills. The results showed significant improvement in participants' ability to interpret diagnoses and apply the correct ICD-10 codes, with pretest scores increasing by 71.43% after the training. This study emphasizes the importance of standardized medical terminology and continuous training for improving diagnostic coding accuracy in healthcare settings. Further training on diverse medical cases is recommended to enhance coding proficiency.

Abstract

In the face of increasingly pressing environmental issues related to the use of single-use plastics, this study aims to design an educational poster as an effective campaign tool to raise public awareness. The use of single-use plastics has become a major factor in environmental pollution, and previous research shows that public understanding and participation are still relatively low. Through an integrative visual communication design approach, this study examines elements in poster design that can attract attention, increase understanding, and encourage pro-environmental behavioral changes in the community. The research methodology used is a qualitative approach and literature study or document search covering various aspects of visual design and environmental campaigns. Successful design patterns include the use of attractive colors, easy-to-read typography, and visuals that have been presented. This study also discusses the importance of community involvement in poster design and continuous evaluation to increase campaign effectiveness. Thus, awareness and understanding of reducing single-use plastics are expected to motivate the community and strengthen existing sustainability initiatives in the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of international trade in supporting Indonesia’s economic stability using the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model. The variables used in the study include exports, imports, exchange rate, trade balance, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) over the period 2007 to 2024. Data were obtained from the World Bank and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The stationarity test results show that all variables are stationary at different levels. The optimal lag was determined at lag 2 based on the Akaike and Schwarz criteria. The Johansen cointegration test results indicate the existence of a long-term relationship among the variables, while the stability test shows that the model meets the stability requirements. The results of the VAR analysis, Impulse Response Function (IRF), and Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) reveal that exports and imports have the greatest contribution in influencing other macroeconomic variables. The response of the variables to external shocks is dynamic yet stable in the medium term. Exports have a positive impact on economic growth, while imports play a strategic role in meeting domestic needs. The trade balance is influenced by the movement of exports and imports and serves as an important indicator for measuring external stability. Thus, international trade is proven to have a significant impact on Indonesia’s economic stability, making it necessary to implement responsive policies such as market diversification, increasing the competitiveness of domestic products, and selective import management to ensure the sustainability of national economic growth.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between digital economy factors and environmentally sustainable economic growth in Indonesia. Variables include Internet Users (IU), Carbon Emissions (CE), Green Investment (GI), Energy Consumption (EC), and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), using 2006–2024 World Bank data analyzed through the Vector Autoregression (VAR) method. Tests conducted include unit root, Johansen cointegration, impulse response (IRF), and variance decomposition (FEVD). Results show that internet usage significantly influences green investment, energy consumption, and GDP, especially in the long term. The positive impact of IU on GDP grows over time, highlighting the role of digitalization in improving efficiency and promoting green systems. While carbon emissions were initially driven by traditional activities like exports and energy use, they are increasingly shaped by digital economy growth and green investment. Energy consumption and green investment also demonstrate a two-way relationship with technology adoption and economic growth. The findings confirm that the digital economy can accelerate sustainable development. Leveraging technology, boosting green sector investment, and managing energy use effectively can help Indonesia achieve inclusive, low-carbon growth. Policy integration between digital transformation and green development is vital to expedite the country’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
