Abstract

Many Indonesian women no longer wear kebayas because they consider them impractical and prefer modern clothing. This research aimed to create a campaign by creating visual communication design media so that Indonesian women want to wear kebayas in their daily lives. The method used in the research is descriptive, with data obtained from interviews, questionnaires, which were responded to by 112 respondents, and literature studies. The research results used above, below, and through-the-line media techniques. The media used were posters, billboards, Instagram, and creating a booth by distributing brochures, tote bags, and notebooks. This campaign will make Indonesian women aware of their love of Indonesian culture and want to wear kebaya daily.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the use of Capcut-based video media in learning to identify the elements of news text on students, student learning outcomes, and inhibiting factors in the use of Capcut-based video media. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative research type. Based on the results of the study, it is stated that the use of Capcut-based video media in learning to identify the elements of news text has been successfully used so that student learning outcomes reach competency standards, and in accordance with RPP. The assessment of identifying the elements of news text on students in the knowledge aspect is in the form of text described in the student worksheet.

Abstract

This research aims to describe sogket weaving in equatorial weaving tourism village. The existence of this village began to be widely known after it was inaugurated by the Mayor of Pontianak in 2018. The research method was descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and literature searches. The results showed that weavers in this village still produce songket motifs and patterns typical of Pontianak Malay, but Sambas characteristics dominate even though they use gill motif fabrics. The patterns and textures are also innovations of new creations from the craftsmen themselves. The new motif, which is a weaver s creation, does not yet have a name like a typical Pontianak Malay motif or a typical Sambas songket weaving cloth.

Abstract

This research highlights the importance of cultural literacy traditions in shaping the character and personality of santri. The aim of this research is to analyze cultural literacy in Gedangan Islamic boarding schools. Islamic boarding schools are known for their cultural background of high literacy in the study of classical books. This research method uses qualitative which can explain literacy. The qualitative method used is descriptive by obtaining data from interviews, observation and documentation. The result of literacy that occurs at the Gedangan Islamic boarding school is a love of religious knowledge, example, togetherness, discipline, independence, sincerity and simplicity.

Abstract

The gawai tradition is an expression of the Dayak tribe's gratitude to Jubata as well as a momentum for Dayak tribes from various regions to meet. The aim of this research is to understand and describe the gawai tradition as a booster of social cohesion for the Dayak people in West Kalimantan which is studied based on the cohesion aspect according to Forsyth which consists of social strength, unity, attraction and cooperation. The research method uses a phenomenological approach and is analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. The research results show that the Gawai tradition can encourage social cohesion through contained values so that the community’s desire emerges to unity amidst diversity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of standard food recipes in the Grand Q Gorontalo hotel kitchen. This research uses descriptive qualitative research, data collection procedures obtained through collecting observations, interviews, documentation and literature study, data sources obtained from primary and secondary data. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that standard recipes have a very important role, with standard recipes it can make it easier for every cook to process food products with the same quality and consistency of food, (starting from portions, ingredients, sizes, cooking methods, and the cooking time is completely stated according to what is needed)

Abstract

The ngantat petolong tradition is very beneficial for the community, but currently the ngantat petolong tradition has undergone changes in the implementation process, which has caused the values contained in it to shift. The purpose of this research is to find out how the changes in the value of the ngantat petolong tradition that occurred in Penandingan Village, and what factors caused the changes. This research uses a qualitative case study method with data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the value shift of the ngantat petolong tradition that occurred in the community, which was previously a tradition of mutual cooperation, became transactional. The factors that have a major influence on changes in the ngantat petolong tradition are advances in community knowledge and economic changes.

Abstract

The fast fashion trend is highly popular among the public, especially teenagers, because it offers a wide variety of clothing models that change quickly. However, behind this globally popular trend, there are many negative impacts. The purpose of this study is to raise awareness about the negative impacts of the fast fashion trend among teenagers in Bandung City, who are consumers of fast fashion products. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method through a questionnaire presented to 100 respondents, with the criteria being late-stage teenage girls aged 18-21 years. The results of this study indicate that most respondents are aware of the negative impacts caused by this trend and intend to switch to better fashion choices, such as using eco-friendly products or reducing the use of fast fashion products.

Abstract

Many people move away from applicable norms and laws due to society's inability to face the challenges of globalization, this is called Social Pathology. This research aims to describe forms of social pathology from the criminal aspect which includes violence and abuse, as well as social pathology in the form of prostitution and mental disorders in the novel Perempuan di Titik Nol by Nawal el-Saadawi. In this research, the data was analyzed using Wellek and Warren's literary sociology approach which focused on the second study, namely the sociology of the content of literary works. The research results show that the novel Perempuan di Titik Nol has forms of social pathology including: crime in the form of violence and abuse, prostitution, and mental disorders

Abstract

Politeness in language is an effort to avoid rudeness in social interactions. This research focuses on the use of politeness maxims in the novel Bumi Surga by Muhammad Irata. The main goal is to describe the usage of politeness maxims in the work. A pragmatic approach with Geoffrey Leech's theory serves as the research framework, utilizing a qualitative descriptive method. Data is collected from the dialogues of the characters in the novel through reading, note-taking, and classification techniques. The research results reveal the presence of 37 instances of conversations following politeness maxims: tact (5 instances), generosity (4 instances), approbation (7 instances), modesty (5 instances), agreement (7 instances), and sympathy (9 instances). The data found indicates that in the novel Bumi Surga by Muhammad Irata, most of the characters' dialogues in the story adhere to politeness maxims based on Leech's theory. Compliance with politeness maxims reflects the characters' way of life in the story, as evident in their manner of speaking and interacting with one another. This demonstrates that the author has portrayed the characters' personalities and character through their communication and adherence to the principles of politeness in the narrative.
