Abstract

This research aims to explore the relationship between institutional pressure and dynamic marketing capabilities (DMC), as well as the connection between DMC and the performance of Islamic Banking in the former Malang residency. The study sampled seven banks, comprising 34 analysis units, which include 7 Branch Offices and 27 sub-branch offices. Data processing was conducted using the Smart PLS 3.0 program in alignment with the proposed hypotheses. The findings of this research are as follows: First, institutional infrastructure – comprising both formal and informal rules – significantly influences a firm's ability to adapt to market conditions. Second, DMC is an integrative process that combines a firm's knowledge, skills, and resources to meet market-related business needs.   This research contributes by linking institutional pressures to the development of DMC, emphasizing their cognitive and strategic impact on managers. The implications suggest that firms must align marketing strategies with institutional contexts to achieve sustainable performance, guiding future studies on capability-building in varying regulatory and competitive environments.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Urbanization in Indonesia has led to the shrinking of Green Open Space (RTH), which is crucial for ecological balance and quality of life. Surakarta City has only 14% green space, far below the 30% standard set by Law No. 26/2007 on Spatial Planning. Degrowth offers an alternative approach that emphasizes ecological sustainability and social justice over exploitative economic growth. Within the framework of degrowth critique, this research examines green spaces as public goods, highlighting inequality of access and privatization of green spaces. This article uses a literature review method to analyze policies and challenges related to Green Open Space. The article examines the phenomenon from the perspective of economics, particularly in the context of public goods and externality theory. The results of this study indicate the need for more sustainability-oriented policies, with community-based management, strict regulation of green land privatization, and the use of green technology. This study offers an alternative perspective in spatial planning that is balanced between economic, social, and environmental aspects.

Abstract

This study analyzes the revenue diversification strategy of Al-Ghufran Mosque in Kuala Lumpur to support its financial sustainability. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study reveal that Al-Ghufran Mosque implements three types of diversification strategies, namely horizontal diversification through business management such as cafes and facility rentals, concentric diversification by utilizing existing assets, and conglomerate diversification through rooftop rentals to telecommunications companies.  Implementing this strategy has been proven to help improve the financial sustainability of mosques and reduce dependence on congregational donations. This study confirms that revenue diversification plays an important role in supporting the financial sustainability of mosques, as well as being a reference for the financial management of other mosques.

Abstract

Academics are burdened with supplemental tasks that surpass their main responsibilities of teaching, research, and service. These tasks are often ambiguous and demanding, yet they are rarely beneficial for their career development. This conflicting role may result in burnout. Academics, however, may cope with these demands in numerous ways, including religion. This study examines the influence of teaching and life interference with research (TLR) on burnout, with religiosity as a moderator. The sample was 91 Muslim higher education academics in Indonesia. Hierarchical regression was used for analysis. The results showed the positive effect of TLR on burnout and the buffering effect of religiosity against burnout. However, religiosity did not moderate between TLR and burnout. Policymakers should design policies that reduce the workload of academics, while academics themselves should consider turning to religion to reduce their work stress.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact of the Sidoarjo Governments in fostering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kampung Logam, Desa Ngingas, Waru, Sidoarjo using the Local Economic Development (LED) framework during the Covid-19 pandemic. Researchers discovered problems delegating tasks within the Department of Industry and Trade where overlapping functions across the industrial area, particularly Ngingas, impede MSME growth. Data were acquired through observations, document analysis, and in-depth interviews utilizing a descriptive qualitative methodology in Sidoarjo and Ngingas Village. Research demonstrates that although policies regarding privatization, demand generation, new firm formation, and transformation methods beneficially impact MSME growth, substantial enhancements in programming are required. This encompasses enhancing industrial technical services, fortifying workforce development, and establishing resilient long-term investment plans to guarantee sustainable growth for MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Digitalization and Burnout on Job Satisfaction and the mediating role of Work-Life Balance. This research was conducted using quantitative techniques, and explanatory analysis was used to analyze the data that had been collected. The research was conducted at Malang City and Regency's Human Resources Development Staffing Agency (BKPSDM). The population and sample in this study were 90 ASN employees, and the saturated technique was used as a sampling technique. SmartPLS 3.0 is used to process the collected data. This study found that digitalization and Burnout insignificantly impact job satisfaction. However, work-life balance has a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Then, the digitalization of job satisfaction can be mediated by work-life balance. Furthermore, the effect of Burnout on job satisfaction can be mediated by job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study delves into the dynamics of green bond issuance in ASEAN-5 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand) and its key determinants, particularly green bond policies and the SDGs Index. Using secondary data from the IMF, World Bank, ADB, and financial reports, it applies panel data regression models (CEM, FEM, REM) for the 2016-2020 period with Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The findings reveal that green bond policies have a significant positive impact, while the SDGs Index shows a weaker yet positive effect. Countries with robust regulations and market maturity, such as Singapore and Malaysia, have more advanced green bond markets than Indonesia and the Philippines, which face regulatory and financial literacy challenges. The study highlights the need for stricter regulations, greater transparency, and fiscal incentives to enhance investor participation, alongside improved green financial literacy to expand access to sustainable finance in ASEAN.

Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education requires administrative staff to have sufficient digital competence to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service quality. This study examines the effect of digital training on staff performance, both directly and through digital competence as a mediating variable. A quantitative method was employed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS). Results indicate that digital training positively and significantly affects staff performance. Digital competence also mediates the relationship between digital training and performance. The outer model confirms all indicators are valid and reliable, while the inner model shows strong variable relationships. These findings support previous research on the importance of digital competence in improving performance. The study emphasizes the need for continuous, needs-based digital training to support digital transformation and strengthen the effectiveness and competitiveness of administrative staff in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the role of zakat and waqf as Islamic philanthropy tools for poverty alleviation and sustainable development in Indonesia, integrating maqāṣid al-sharīʿah principles with digital innovation. Employing a descriptive-critical qualitative approach with data triangulation, it analyses empirical data from official reports and recent literature. Findings demonstrate that zakat distribution significantly reduces poverty, while productive waqf enhances access to education and health services. However, institutional constraints, limited nazhir capacity, and technological barriers—particularly in rural areas—hinder effectiveness. Comparative insights from Malaysia, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia highlight best practices in digital zakat and waqf management, such as blockchain adoption and centralized waqf registries, which inform the contextual framework proposed for Indonesia. The study advocates a holistic approach combining maqāṣid al-sharīʿah with digitalization, supported by synergy among government, philanthropic institutions, and local communities.
