Abstract

The development of a web-based academic information system at Darun Najah Islamic Middle School is an important step in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of academic data management. The Agile Scrum method is used as the main approach in this research to deal with the dynamics of changing user needs. This research describes the system development process which includes requirements analysis, design, development, testing and system implementation. The implementation results show a significant increase in flexibility, adaptability, and user involvement in the development of academic information systems. Additionally, implementing Agile Scrum also presents challenges related to adequate user involvement and accurate time and cost estimates. Implications for subsequent system development include the use of an iterative model and an emphasis on continuous delivery to ensure the system is relevant and adaptive to changing educational needs.

Abstract

Network security is a crucial issue in today's digital era, with increasing cyber attacks targeting infrastructure and sensitive data. Analysis of cyber attacks on network security is an important aspect of efforts to protect information systems from ever-evolving digital threats. This research investigates various types of cyberattacks that can threaten network security, including phishing attacks, malware, denial of service (DoS), and brute force attacks. We also analyze defense methods that can be used to reduce the risk of cyberattacks, including firewalls, data encryption, real-time security monitoring, and security training for users. This research provides a deeper understanding of the current cyberattack landscape and effective strategies for reducing network vulnerabilities to such attacks. Thus, the results of this analysis can make an important contribution to improving network security in various sectors, from companies to government.

Abstract

Employee performance is critical to organizational success, aligning with strategic goals, customer satisfaction, and economic impact. It reflects the outcomes achieved by individuals or groups within an organization, crucial for productivity and sustainability amidst competitive environments. This study investigates the impact of work motivation, leadership, and work discipline on employee performance at PT Petronika, a Dioctyl Phthalate manufacturer that faces challenges linked to motivation, leadership, and discipline. The research aims to analyze these factors among 73 HRD employees using a quantitative approach, specifically Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Primary data, gathered through interviews and questionnaires, is complemented by secondary data from company records and literature. Results indicate that motivation significantly enhances employee performance (p = 0.002), while work discipline also plays a crucial role (p = 0.000). However, leadership shows inconsistent impact on performance (p = 0.784), highlighting complexities in its influence. The study concludes that improving motivation and reinforcing work discipline are essential for enhancing employee performance at PT Petronika. Further research is recommended to delve deeper into the dynamics of leadership within organizational contexts.

Abstract

The role of student organizations and student loyalty is very important to develop student potential both in terms of hard skills and soft skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of student organizations and student loyalty to the development of student potential. The number of samples used in the study were 50 students of the Class of 2022 or semester 4 of the management study program, STIE YAPAN. This research uses quantitative methods. The results showed that the organizational role variable had a positive and significant effect on potential development at 0.001 < 0.05. The student loyalty variable has a positive and insignificant effect on potential development at 0.257 > 0.05. Organizational role variables and student loyalty simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the development of student potential. The results of R Square show that the variable role of student organizations and student loyalty to the development of student potential is 63.8%, which means that the two independent variables are able to contribute to the potential development variable, while the remaining 36.2% is influenced by other variables outside the variables used in the study.

Abstract

At the end of April 2024, national car sales for the domestic market were recorded to have decreased by 34.91% compared to the previous month. This negative trend, of course, disrupts company profits, including PT XYZ as a supplier of automotive components in Indonesia. This decline triggered the company to carry out cost reduction activities in the production area. However, in reality there is still a lot of waste during production, one of which is in the 650T injection molding process. The high cycle time of the injection process resulted in the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) target not being achieved. The lean manufacturing approach and DMAIC cycle as a research method aims to identify non-value added activities as well as make improvements by reducing the injection process cycle time from 86 to 57 seconds. These improvements made the OEE target for the 650T injection machine achieved because it increased from 67.9% to 76.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efforts of the Tempe Lake Festival organizers in increasing tourist visits in Wajo Regency through the application of the Pentahelix model. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature study. The results showed that collaborative involvement between the government, academics, media, businesses, and the community proved effective in attracting tourists and promoting local cultural wealth. The Pentahelix model made a significant contribution by strengthening the network of cooperation and synergy between various related parties, thus increasing the overall attractiveness of the festival. Although the festival faced challenges in the form of weather changes that impacted accessibility and event implementation, it is recommended that organizers strengthen infrastructure and add activities that are not dependent on weather conditions. This research is expected to be an important reference in the development of collaboration-based tourism strategies and contribute to the literature related to the Tempe Lake Festival case study as a model of Pentahelix implementation in the tourism industry.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the quality of university web pages in Medan City using two decision-making methods, namely Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS) and Organization Rangement Et Syntest De Relatonnelles (ORESTE). University websites play a very important role in reflecting the identity, vision, and mission of the institution, as well as improving its reputation in today's digital era. However, not all universities in Medan have implemented optimal standards in managing their web pages. Therefore, the results of this study show that based on the COPRAS method, there are 3 top universities, namely Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU) ranked first with the highest score of 100.0000, followed by Quality University with a score of 93.7500 ranked second, and Harapan University Medan with a score of 91.4063 ranked third. Meanwhile, using the ORESTE method also ranked UMSU first with a score of 5.00, followed by Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi in second place, and Santo Thomas Catholic University in third place with a score of 7.17. The similarity of the first rank between the two methods shows consistency in the recognition of the quality of the UMSU web page. However, differences were seen in the second and third rankings, where COPRAS ranked Universitas Quality and Universitas Harapan Medan, while ORESTE ranked Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi and Universitas Katolik Santo Thomas. This difference reflects the different evaluation approaches of the two methods. The findings are expected to assist universities in Medan in developing more effective strategies for improving user experience and strengthening institutional reputation.
