Abstract

Education is a core thing in the development of human life, as well as social studies education. In the learning process there are directions for achieving learning or commonly referred to as curriculum. In social studies learning, it is expected to be able to form superior, civilized and characterized human resources. Become an educated human resource with broad knowledge. With the curriculum 13, it is certainly able to make it easier for teachers to prepare varied learning and also increase student motivation. An integrated curriculum is certainly able to improve the desired social studies learning process. The results of this study aim to be able to balance the professionalism of teachers and students in achieving social studies learning based on Curriculum 13. With the integrity of an integrated curriculum, it certainly gives results that are able to increase human resources with high social spirit, excellence and character. Abstract

This paper focuses on Pax-Ottomanica in a case study of the Millet System through multi ethnic and multi religious communities in the Ottoman Empire. In particular, the Millet System has successfully roamed people in Europe, Asia, and Africa for nearly 600 years. This paper also discusses Islamic law on the relationship between other religions such as Judaism and Christianity. This study uses a qualitative method with a whole literature approach. Based on the data analyzed, it was found that harmony occurs between fellow religious and ethnic people with the freedom to embrace their respective religions and maintain their respective cultures. This paper aims to analyze the state of the multi-ethnic and multi-religious society in the Ottoman Empire by providing various references from both Turkish and Western historians. In addition, this paper aims to introduce Ottoman-style freedom through this Millet system, which has succeeded in bringing all non-Muslim communities into one Ottoman commonwealth.

Abstract

Many students put down Social Studies as boring class, because the learning model is less variable and poor of media. So that the development of learning media in the form of Student Textbooks (Buku Ajar Siswa) is made. The study design using type 4-D (define, design, develop, disseminate) development and research plan one group pretest-posttest design. The collection data method is observation, test, and quetionnaires. in trial of textbook difficulty level in category at very low or very easy to understand and can be regarded as reliable instrument to measure feasibility RPP quality. Average score in each social skill including contributing ideas/opinions, being good listener, and respecting friend’s opinion was 89,69; 90,44; 90,03, which is on very high category. The student response toward components, newness, ease of understand, and practicing social skill of the device obtained percentage in a row was 72,92%, 79,69%, 79,69%, 65,63%, which shows the response of the student is very high. The study concludes that the learning device has high efecctiveness and quality to improve the study result and student’s social skill. Based on this research, so that it can be used by social studies teachers in order to develop devices according to the nature of the material being taught to suit the learning objectives.

Abstract

Active users of social media are young people aged 18-29 years. Part of the community included in this group are college students. College students use social media to obtain and disseminate informations. Occasionally, social media is used to convey political opinions on campus or country issues. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the use and the effectiveness of social media in voicing internal and national issues by college students. The subjects of this study were students of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) who are active members of the Kabinet Keluarga Mahasiswa (KM), Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan (HMJ), and Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM). The research was conducted using qualitative methods and data obtained by survey methods and literature study. This study aims to determine the role and effectiveness of social media in implementing democracy and optimizing its use. This study is the first to examine the use of social media in democratic practices by Indonesian college students. Therefore, this research is expected to provide an overview of the use of social media by college students as well as ways to increase the effectiveness of their use.

Abstract

Abstract Political-religious being a social dynamic cannot be separated from our lives as social and religious beings. In the social and cultural context of the Madurese, ulama are important actors in the social life of the Madurese in resolving conflicts and eradicating ideas that are not in accordance with Islamic teachings and state ideology. The presence of the ulama here, apart from being a preacher, also acts as an intermediary in regulating the lives of the Madurese wabil people specifically in Pamekasan. Social phenomena that occur in Pamekasan Madura are always responded quickly by the Madurese ulama alliance as a movement with the aim of controlling and regulating the symptoms that occur in the Pamekasan community. such as, closing nightclubs and tourist attractions that are not in accordance with Islamic law and the existing culture in Madura. The pattern of movement used by the Madura Ulama Alliance (AUMA) in responding to political-religious issues uses persuasive, preventive and repressive patterns. The impact of this movement is evidence that in Pamekasan there is minimal escalation of political-religious conflict compared to other regions, this is in line with the Pamekasan district jargons "Pamekasan Hebat" and "Pamekasan Pintu Salam." While the writing of this paper uses a literature study with a descriptive qualitative method of analysis that utilizes primary and secondary data sources in the form of books, journals, theses and online media. Such as, news.okezon, indopers.net, /nasional.temp and others. Keywords: Response, AUMA, Political-religious Abstrak Politik-keagamaan menjadi dinamika sosial tidak lepas dari kehidupan kita sebagai makhluk sosial dan beragama. Dalam konteks sosial dan budaya orang Madura, ulama menjadi aktor penting ditengah-tengah kehidupan sosial masyarakat Madura dalam menyelesaikan konflik dan memberantas paham-paham yang tidak sesuai dengan ajaran Islam dan paham kenegaraan. Hadirnya ulama disini, selain sebagai pendakwah juga sebagai penengah dalam mengatur kehidupan masyarakat Madura wabil khusus di Pamekasan. Gejala sosial yang terjadi di Pamekasan Madura selalu di respons cepat oleh aliansi ulama Madura sebagai gerakan dengan tujuan menertibkan dan mengatur gejala-gejala yang terjadi ditengah masyarakat Pamekasan. seperti, penutupan tempat hiburan malam dan tempat wisata yang tidak sesuai dengan syariat Islam dan budaya yang ada di Madura. Pola gerakan yang digunakan oleh aliansi ulama Madura (AUMA) dalam merespons isu politik-keagamaan menggunakan pola persuasive, preventif dan represif. Dampak dari gerakan ini menjadi bukti bahwa di Pamekasan eskalasi konflik politik-keagamaan minim terjadi dibandingkan dengan derah lainnya, hal ini selaras dengan jargon kabupaten Pamekasan “Pamekasan Hebat” dan “Pamekasan Gerbang Salam.” Sedangkan penulisan paper ini menggunakan studi pustaka dengan metode kualitatif deskriftif analisis yang memanfaatkan Sumber data primer dan skunder berupa buku, jurnal, skripsi dan media online. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Tasc model using WhatsApp social media on online learning for Land Capability Classification Analysis during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a quasi-experimental type using a factorial design. The samples in this study were students of class X IPS 1 and class X IPS 2. The results of this study were analyzed in stages, namely: data description, prerequisite test, and hypothesis testing. The prerequisite tests carried out are the normality test of the data distribution, the homogeneity of variance test, and the t test. The results showed that after the learning was carried out and the post-test was given to the experimental class and the control class, the results obtained ttest > t ???????????????????? indicating was accepted . Where that the learning outcomes of students on the material elements of hadith using the TASC learning model are better than conventional learning. Where the class that uses the TASC model seems enthusiastic about sending information on the Whatsapp group because the TASC learning model helps students to construct their own knowledge and makes it easier for students to understand the classification of land capability.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find out how the role of the implementation of the STAD (Student Teams Achievements Divisions) cooperative learning method is to increase student tolerance. And whether the STAD Cooperative learning method can improve student learning outcomes, especially in Social Science subjects. This research method is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research consisted of two cycles, and each cycle consisted of four stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study consisted of 64 students of class VIII B and C at SMPN 02 Ponorogo. Data collection methods used include questionnaire data, observation sheet data and student worksheets. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained data that the results of the questionnaire related to student tolerance resulted in an increase of 48.44% in the comparison of Cycle I and Cycle II. This increase was also strengthened by data obtained from the results of the observation sheet related to the tolerance level of students which also showed an increase of 15.63%. Furthermore, the results of research related to the increase in learning outcomes obtained from student worksheets showed an increase of 31.25%. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of the STAD type cooperative learning method can increase students' tolerance attitude, as evidenced by questionnaires and observation sheets, while an increase in student learning outcomes can be proven by student worksheets.

Abstract

Social capital assumed to be one of the most important aspect which contributed in the societal development of a country. Putnam Analysis proved that the high level of social capital in a country can do so. To form that social capital, all elements in a country need to cooperate each other, including education. Education and social capital produce a very tight connection because the social capital is transmitted in school as an important part of education. This study will explore some teaching methods which can contribute in the formation of social capital in some Islamic high schools in Malang. This study is qualitative in nature. The research subjects were teachers and students in State Islamic High Schools 1 and 2 Malang. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that the teachers have practiced some teaching methods that contributed in the social capital element formation of mutual trust, norms, and networking. The social capital formation also formed by the building and developing the productive networking between teachers and students.

Abstract

The active learning strategy is using for increase student’s liveliness. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the action research model of Kemmis and MC Taggart, which is in the form of a spiral from one cycle to another. Each cycle includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of this study indicate that social studies learning in the material of Interaction between ASEAN countries by implementing active learning strategies with the active knowledge sharing method in Class 8 of Al-Waroqot Islamic Junior High School has a positive impact in improving student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the results of student tests that have reached. The average score of students' test classically reached 88 from the previous 72.83 with 83.3% learning completeness. After the remedy was held, the average score of the students' test classically was 88 with 100% learning completeness. Keywords: active learning strategies, IPS learning outcomes.
