The language, be it verbal or non-verbal, has been the primary medium of human interactions to take place. However, there still seems to be a little attempt for a thorough investigations in understanding problematic issues that may emerge because of the language. Issues in Applied Linguistics & Language Teaching (IALTEACH) aims at bringing together scholars whose interests fall upon the areas of applied linguistics and language teaching to publish their scholarly articles in IALTEACH. As the term applied implies, this journal combines interdisciplinary discussions on language issues that would bridge not only systematic investigations of the language , but also the theories, research methods, and practices within the scope of applied linguistics and language teaching. Therefore, the contributions are welcome in the following areas (but not limited to) of study; current trends in ELT, language learning & acquisitions, teaching media &technology, linguistic aspects of language learning & teaching, English for specific purposes, and Englishes in Southeast Asia.

Abstract In today's industrial sector, many companies are developing their markets both regionally and internationally. One of the ways they do this is to cooperate with regional and foreign companies. To make this happen, companies need documents using international languages or English. Apart from translating documents, currently document proofreading is also needed. This document proofreading aims to ensure that the document is good and correct to use or publish. This internship program is in cooperating with two partners there are PT. Indogaben Sukses Perkasa and UCLC UIB. Author assigned to translate legal documents for PT. Indogaben Sukses Perkasa and proofread academic articles for UCLC UIB. This program started on 08 February 2021 until 30 June 2021. This project done manually by author; it means that author did not use any computer assisted translation tool in translating the documents. The results of this project are five legal documents from PT. Indogaben Sukses Perkasa which is translated from Bahasa to English and five academic articles that already proofread by the author.

The purpose of this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of English comic webtoons as an instructional tool for improving reading comprehension abilities to traditional teaching methods. The study used a quasi-experimental design and a simple random sampling technique to select participants. The study included two classes: Class X-MIPA 2 was designated as the experimental group, and Class X-MIPA 1 was designated as the control group. The research involved 52 students in total. Pre- and post-tests were used to collect data, which was then statistically analyzed using the t-test procedure. The study's findings revealed a statistically significant difference in academic performance between the experimental and control groups. There was a significant improvement in the students' reading comprehension scores after the treatment was completed. The computed test statistic (t-test) was 6.44, which was greater than the critical value of 1.68. This study's findings led to the acceptance of the research hypothesis (Ha) and the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho). The effectiveness of using English comic webtoons as an instructional medium for improving the reading comprehension skills of tenth-grade students at MAS Ulumuddin, specifically in relation to narrative texts, is highlighted in this study. This study provides important insights for teachers looking for visually appealing methods to improve reading comprehension in the classroom. The study employed a quasi-experimental design and utilized a simple random sampling technique for participant selection. reading comprehension in the classroom.

The purpose of this study is to discover what characteristics drive students to learn English and their English learning success in the participant at an English club. A questionnaire was used to collect data to assess the percentage of elements in English language acquisition based on current theories. A sample of 20 students was chosen at random to evaluate and measure the students' motivation and English learning achievement. In this study, a collection of 10 questionnaires was employed to examine the relationship between many factors. Data analysis uses descriptive percentage analysis for questionnaires, while for interviews and observations the data is reduced and presented. The research results show that students who take part in the extracurricular English Club feel more motivated to learn English.

In recent years, many studies indicate that the use of technology plays an important role in the process EFL (English as Foreign Language) learning. It is also proven that the motivation factor influences learners’ learning processes. The aim of this study is to investigate if there is any relationship between the use of technology in Indonesian EFL university classes and the students’ motivation in learning English. To test this hypothesis, a questionnaire and students’ interview developed by Binnur (2011) were distributed among a group of 30 Indonesian EFL university students who were in EFL classes learning by internet, mobile phone and power point to be used on their English classes. Data gathered were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The result shows that Indonesian EFL university students have a positive attitude towards the use of technology in their English classes.

Anxiety is the most dominant of psychological problem that faced by students in learning speaking. This study focused on analysis of making a vlog to minimize public speaks anxiety among EFL students. This study answer the following question, “How does video blog minimize public speak anxiety among EFL students?†Descriptive qualitative method as simply observing a behavior was used in this study. Frist-semester students of Institut Bakti nusantara were the participants of this study which consist of 10 students, majoring in Information system. There were two ways for collecting data, namely: observations and inteview. They were assigned to make a video of speaking performance on a topic “Advertisementâ€. The result could be concluded that making video blog is useful to minimize public speak anxiety among EFL student. Besides that, a vlog is considered as one of useful stategy which can provide students motivation for being confidence in public speaking. Futhermore, creating a vlog can give enjoyable and attractive learning atmosphere and students will feel more comfortable, relaxed, and motivated to practice their speaking skill. Even though a vlog has been proven to reduce anxiety levels, there are several things that must be considered when using a vlog as a media for learning speaking. Lecturers are expected to be more creative and innovative in order to make students become more interested in speaking English. Lectures always know students’ speaking anxiety level and students’ condition in learning speaking due to not all of students have the same characteristics to be able to accept all types of media.
