Abstract

This research discusses classification of inventory in a warehouse of palm oil plantation company located in Central Kalimantan Province. The purpose of this research is to classify inventory of goods by the method of FSN Analysis (Fast, Slow and Non-moving) based on turn over ratio (TOR) and how to control these goods. The method used is quantitative analysis based on historical data using the FSN Analysis and TOR methods. The result showed that the classification of inventory by the method produced three classify of goods, ie fast-moving, slow-moving and non-moving. The three classify of goods need different management system. The goods in the fast-moving that a large quantity of need can be managed by applying safety stock and reorder point, while that small quantity and items in the slow-moving can be managed by the periodic review (R, s, S) power method approximation or can be bought when needed. While goods in the non-moving are sufficient to be purchased when needed, while still taking into quantity and schedule of demand so that no stockout conditions occur.

Abstract

Palm Oil Mill (PKS) there are oil losses that cannot be eliminated, but it can be minimized, among them are the oil losses in empty bunch and the oil in condensate. The standardization of oil losses in empty bunch in POM is ≤ 2.25% (oil/wet matter), while the standardization of oil in condensate is ≤ 1% (oil/wet matter). The relationship of oil content contained in the empty bunch to condensate is due to the influence of holes in the body of the buggy. Thus, trials were carried out on two buggy units in the POM, ie buggy with 461 holes and 572 holes. The purpose of this research was to determine the value of the ratio of oil losses in empty bunch to the two buggy design. This research was conducted on May 27th – 29th, 2018. Data collection using literature study and observation method. The result showed that the buggy with in 461 holes resulted in 2.58% oil loss in empty bunch, more than the buggy with in 572 holes, ie 2.00%; and conversely, the buggy with in 572 holes resulted 1.05% oil in condensate, more than the buggy with in 461 holes, ie 0.88% only.

Abstract

Equipment performance of a POM can be measured using OEE. Measurement of OEE on screw press can be done through the operating hours of the equipment and the resulting oil losses. The result of the measurement will show how effectivity the treatment carried out on the equipment. The purpose of this research was to determine the condition of performance of screw press through OEE measurement and to know what indications are shown by the performance condition. This research was conducted at a POM located in South Kalimantan Province. The data used is data derived from company document for one year. Based on the result of the discussion it can be concluded that screw press tool used in POM has low performance condition. This can be seen from the measured OEE value which is still below the world class company standard. The low OEE value indicates that the maintenance system applied to the screw press has not been effective. Therefore it is necessary to do an analysis of causes of the problem so that appropriate repair can be made according to their need

Abstract

PT Bangun Jaya Alam Permai 1 (PT BJAP 1), a palm oil plantation company, has the largest central warehouse. There has been a buildup of inventory in the warehouse and eventually become deadstock due to improper company decision making. The purpose of this study was to determine losses due to deadstock with the concept of time value of money and the Net Present Value (NPV) method. The difference between the deadstock value between the past and the present is due to the influence of time value of money. Efforts can be made to minimize the losses by improving the planning decision-making system in terms of investment and other company policies.

Abstract

Water hyacinth is an invasive plant that often causes a decrease in environmental quality. Water hyacinth composts were done by chopping water hyacinth and mixing the chopped with cow dung with a ratio of 3: 1, and commercial bioactivators. The study was conducted in two groups of oil palm seedlings and each group consisted of 5 treatments The first group consisted of P10 = 100% subsoil, P11 = 100% water hyacinth compost, P12 = subsoil and sand + water hyacinth compost (3:1), P13 = subsoil and sand + water hyacinth compost (1:1), P14 = subsoil and sand + water hyacinth compost (1:3). The second group consists of P20 = 100% subsoil, P21 = 100 water hyacinth compost, P22 = subsoil + water hyacinth compost (3:1), P23 = subsoil + water hyacinth (1:1), P24 = subsoil + water hyacinth compost (1:3). The results of the study on group one of palm oil seedlings showed that 25% subsoil and sand planting media + 75% water hyacinth compost gave the highest plant growth at 3 BST. Group two plants showed that the application of water hyacinth compost on the planting medium had a significant effect on plant height successively in the treatment P23 = 50% subsoil + 50% water hyacinth (22.5 cm). Invasive water hyacinth potentialy to be used as an alternative mixture of growing media for crop cultivation.

Abstract

Imperata cylindrica is belongs to the class A weed group (very dangerous). Control of weeds regularly continues, and this causes high weed waste in plantations. One of the activities carried out to handle it is to use it as mulch to maintain moisture and reduce weed growth. Mulch application will be more optimal if combined with tillage, because weed seeds in the soil will be cut off and fail to germinate. The combination of these two activities is expected to be able to control the growth of weeds and maintain good soil conditions. This study aims to obtain alternative pre-growing weed control, determine the effectiveness of mulch application and soil management activities in controlling weeds. This research was conducted in Experimental Garden 2 and Biology Laboratory of Polytechnic Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi Bekasi, from April to May 2017. The research was arranged in a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), the first factor was the application of mulch consisting and the second factor is tillage The results of the experiment showed that the application of mulch Imperata cylindrica and tillage can be used as an alternative activity to control weeds and the real interaction between the two activities can be seen in the number of weeds 1 Week After Planting (1 WAP). Mulch application has a single significant effect on the number of weeds 2 and 3 WAP, whereas tillage does not show any significant effect on all parameters.
