Abstract

Aging is a natural process accompanied by a decline in physical and cognitive functions. Elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus are twice as likely to experience cognitive impairment compared to those without diabetes. A non-pharmacological effort to maintain cognitive function is brain gym exercises. This study aimed to determine the effect of brain gym exercises on improving cognitive function among elderly people with diabetes mellitus at Singkawang Utara 1 Public Health Center. This research used a pre-experimental design with a pretest and posttest without control group. A total of 30 elderly with diabetes mellitus were selected using simple random sampling. The intervention consisted of brain gym sessions conducted for 30 minutes, three times a week for two weeks. Cognitive function was measured using the Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE) and analyzed with the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant effect with p = 0.032 (p < 0.05), indicating that brain gym exercises significantly improved cognitive function in the elderly. In conclusion, brain gym is effective in enhancing cognitive function among elderly patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Stroke merupakan salah satu penyebab utama disabilitas yang meningkatkan ketergantungan pasien terhadap family caregiver. Peran merawat pasien stroke dalam jangka panjang menimbulkan beban fisik, psikologis, sosial, serta gangguan kualitas tidur yang berujung pada penurunan kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kualitas tidur family caregiver pasien stroke, menilai kualitas hidup pada empat domain (fisik, psikologis, sosial, lingkungan), serta mengidentifikasi domain yang paling dipengaruhi kualitas tidur. Desain penelitian adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel sebanyak 173 family caregiver menggunakan consecutive sampling sesuai kriteria inklusi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) dan WHOQOL-BREF, dengan analisis Spearman Rank. Hasil menunjukkan 93,64% responden memiliki kualitas tidur buruk. Kualitas hidup juga didominasi kategori buruk pada semua domain, dengan persentase tertinggi pada domain psikologis (87,28%). Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kualitas tidur dengan seluruh domain kualitas hidup: kesehatan fisik (r=0,206; p=0,007), psikologis (r=0,398; p=0,000), hubungan sosial (r=0,196; p=0,010), dan lingkungan (r=0,202; p=0,008). Domain yang paling dipengaruhi kualitas tidur adalah kesehatan psikologis. Semakin buruk kualitas tidur family caregiver, semakin rendah kualitas hidup mereka, terutama pada aspek psikologis. Abstract

Bayi Berat Lahir Rendah (BBLR) masih menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan utama di dunia, termasuk di Indonesia, karena berhubungan dengan tingginya angka kesakitan, kematian neonatal, serta dampak jangka panjang terhadap kualitas sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian BBLR melalui pendekatan systematic review. Studi ini merupakan systematic review yang diterapkan berdasarkan Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Database yang digunakan adalah Google Scholar, Science Direct, dan PubMed dengan batas publikasi lima tahun terakhir (2020–2025). Kata kunci yang digunakan pada pencarian adalah “Low Birth Weight” dan “Risk Factor”. Dari total 310 artikel yang ditemukan, setelah melalui proses penyaringan judul, abstrak, dan full text sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, diperoleh 10 artikel yang memenuhi syarat dan dianalisis dalam tinjauan ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usia <20 tahun atau >35 tahun, rendahnya pendidikan ibu, serta terbatasnya akses layanan kesehatan merupakan faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian BBLR. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya strategi komprehensif untuk menekan angka BBLR melalui edukasi kesehatan reproduksi, pemerataan akses layanan kesehatan ibu, serta pemberdayaan perempuan dalam pengambilan keputusan kesehatan.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) tipe 2 merupakan salah satu penyakit metabolik yang semakin meningkat prevalensinya, terutama di negara berkembang. Pengaturan pola makan yang tepat menjadi salah satu strategi utama dalam pengendalian glukosa darah pada penderita DM, di antaranya dengan konsumsi makanan dan minuman yang mengandung antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk minuman enteral berbahan dasar susu kedelai, jahe merah, sereh, dan gula jagung yang dapat membantu mengelola kadar glukosa darah pada penderita DM tipe 2. Formula yang dikembangkan melalui metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) diuji dalam tiga formula berbeda dengan menggunakan uji organoleptik yang melibatkan 15 panelis. Hasil uji organoleptik menunjukkan bahwa formula 3 (susu kedelai, jahe merah, sereh, dan gula jagung dengan tambahan vanili) memperoleh skor tertinggi pada aspek warna, aroma, rasa, dan tekstur, menjadikannya formula paling disukai. Produk ini mengandung energi 103,77 kkal, protein 8,78 g, lemak 6,27 g, karbohidrat 14,75 g, dan serat 0,82 g per 100 g. Dengan biaya produksi yang lebih rendah dibandingkan produk komersial, minuman enteral ini menawarkan solusi ekonomis untuk penderita DM tipe 2. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan bahan alami seperti jahe merah dan sereh untuk meningkatkan kualitas sensori produk serta perbaikan proses pembuatan untuk mengurangi endapan serat kasar pada produk.

Abstract

Health is a fundamental need for every individual in society. The rise in social status has led to increased demands for quality healthcare services. This situation encourages healthcare providers to continuously improve the quality of services provided. Patients' decisions regarding treatment are not only determined by personal factors but also influenced by external factors such as technological developments and changes in consumer behavior. One technique widely used to increase the visibility of healthcare services is Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which functions to increase website rankings in search engines. With the proper implementation of SEO, hospitals can be more easily found by potential patients seeking healthcare services. Furthermore, satisfied consumers are more likely to provide direct recommendations through word of mouth. This study aims to determine the influence of digital marketing strategies through SEO, word of mouth, and service quality on the decision to seek healthcare. The study used a descriptive analytical method with a cross- sectional design, meaning observations or measurements of variables were conducted at a specific point in time. The analysis results showed a significant influence of SEO on the decision to seek healthcare (p = 0.019), a significant influence of word of mouth on the decision to seek healthcare (p = 0.031), and a significant influence of service quality on the decision to seek healthcare (p = 0.006). Simultaneously, SEO, word of mouth, and service quality were proven to have a significant influence on patients' decisions to choose treatment (p < 0.005).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Medical Committee in improving the quality of health services at Dr. Pirngadi Hospital, Medan City. The Medical Committee plays an important role in maintaining the professionalism of medical personnel and ensuring quality medical services through medical audits, continuing education, scientific meetings, and mentoring new medical personnel. Using a qualitative descriptive method with an in-depth interview approach to informants consisting of medical staff, doctors, patients, and nurses. This study shows that the role of the Medical Committee at Dr. Pirngadi Hospital has been carried out well, especially in medical audits, although there are obstacles in implementing follow-up audit results due to limited time and facilities. The role of the Medical Committee in organizing scientific meetings and continuing education is still limited and not made a routine program, while the mentoring process (proctoring) for new medical personnel has not been well structured. Through this study, it is clear that although the Medical Committee has played a role in improving the quality of services through medical audits, there is still room for improvement, especially in terms of continuing education and proctoring new medical personnel.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of marketing strategies and medical device product facilities on increasing the number of patients at Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital, Medan. Competition in the healthcare industry requires hospitals to not only provide quality medical services but also implement effective marketing strategies and provide adequate healthcare facilities to attract and retain patients. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The study population included all patients visiting Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital during the last three months, with a total sample of 78 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that marketing strategies and medical device facilities had a positive effect on increasing the number of patients, with medical device facilities having a more dominant influence. This finding emphasizes the importance of synergy between appropriate marketing strategies and improved medical facilities in building patient trust, strengthening loyalty, and increasing hospital competitiveness sustainably amidst increasingly fierce healthcare competition.

Abstract

Job burnout is a common psychological condition experienced by nurses due to high work pressure, heavy workload, and continuous emotional demands. Two important factors believed to influence job burnout are self-efficacy and social support. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and social support on the level of job burnout in nurses. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 100 nurses was taken using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire that measured the level of self-efficacy, social support, and job burnout. Data analysis was performed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square test), and multivariate (logistic regression). The results showed that self-efficacy had a significant effect on job burnout (p = 0.019), while social support showed no significant effect (p = 0.397). Most respondents had high self-efficacy (60%) and experienced moderate to high levels of job burnout. Self-efficacy is a protective factor against job burnout in nurses, while social support did not significantly influence this study. Therefore, improving self-efficacy needs to be a focus of interventions to reduce job burnout levels in hospital settings.

Abstract

ABSTRAKGagal ginjal kronik (GGK) merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis dengan angka kejadiandan kematian yang tinggi, di mana pasien yang menjalani terapi hemodialisa sering mengalamipenurunan kualitas hidup akibat masalah fisik, psikologis, sosial, maupun spiritual. Penelitian inibertujuan mengetahui pengaruh perawatan paliatif terhadap kualitas hidup pasien hemodialisa diRSU Royal Prima Medan tahun 2025. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif denganpendekatan cross sectional pada 50 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik total sampling, denganinstrumen berupa kuesioner perawatan paliatif dan kuesioner kualitas hidup WHOQOL-BREF.Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas pasien (76%) memperoleh perawatan paliatif dengankategori baik, sementara sebagian besar pasien (40%) memiliki kualitas hidup baik. Hasil ujiChi-Square menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara perawatan paliatif dan kualitashidup pasien hemodialisa (p = 0,001 < 0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perawatan paliatifberperan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien hemodialisa, sehingga integrasipendekatan ini dalam layanan kesehatan sangat diperlukan untuk memberikan dukunganmenyeluruh secara fisik, psikologis, sosial, dan spiritual.Kata Kunci : Perawatan Paliatif, Hemodialisa

Abstract

Hypertension disorders during pregnancy remains a major contributor to maternal mortality in Indonesia in 2022 and the third in Bali in 2023. One factor contributing to hypertension during pregnancy is nutritional status. This research aims to examine the association between nutritional status of pregnant women and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy at Puskesmas Sukasada I as an effort to understand the determinants of healthy behavior and the prevention of pregnancy complications. A quantitative descriptive study was conducted using a cross-sectional analytical design. Data collection used simple random sampling of pregnant women attending Antenatal Care at the Mother and Child Clinic of the Puskesmas Sukasada I (N=50). The research instrument used medical records analyzed using the Pearson Chi-square method. Bivariate analysis using the Pearson Chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.376, which indicates that there is no statistically significant relationship between nutritional status and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy at Puskesmas Sukasada I during the 2023–2024 period. Hypertensive disorders in Pregnancy is caused by multiple factors, not just nutritional status. Therefore, maintaining optimal nutrition along with addressing other modifiable factors remains essential in preventing hypertensive disorders and supporting healthy pregnancy outcomes.
