Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of dietary turmeric powder supplementation on liver morphology and coloration in Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica). A total of 60 healthy quails aged 4 weeks were randomly assigned into four treatment groups: control (P0), turmeric powder supplementation at 54 mg (P1), 108 mg (P2), and 216 mg (P3) per bird per day. The feeding trial lasted for 30 days. Liver samples were collected post-treatment for macroscopic observation, including size (weight and length), surface texture, tissue consistency, and color using a calibrated color chart. Results showed that P2 group exhibited the most optimal liver morphology, with increased weight and size, smooth surface, normal consistency, and reddish-dark coloration indicating good hepatic perfusion and metabolic status. In contrast, P3 group showed slight hardness and yellowish discoloration, suggesting mild hepatic stress due to excessive bioactive intake. Statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA and Duncan’s test confirmed significant differences (p < 0.05) among treatment groups. It can be concluded that turmeric powder at a dose of 108 mg/bird/day improves liver health in quails, demonstrating its potential as a natural hepatoprotective supplement in poultry feed.

Abstract

Babotek plant (Cardiospernum halicacabum L.) is one of the plants utilized by the ethnic community of Dualaus Village, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, as a traditional medicinal plant to treat diarrhea, flu, fever, and rheumatism. This research aims to test whether the Babotek plant has the ability to act as an antibacterial agent in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria. The antibacterial activity test method employed the disk diffusion method with plant extract concentrations of 10 ppm, 30 ppm, and 60 ppm, chloramphenicol antibiotic as a positive control, and Aquadest as a negative control. The extraction method used was a stepwise maceration method with ethyl acetate as the solvent. The research results obtained show that the ethyl acetate extract of the Babotek plant is capable of inhibiting the growth of the pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis, with an inhibition zone diameter of 8.2 mm at a concentration of 60 ppm; 7.8 mm at a concentration of 30 ppm; while no inhibition zone was formed at a concentration of 10 ppm. Antibacterial compounds produced by the Babotek plant in inhibiting the growth of test bacteria fall into the moderate category. This research is expected to contribute to efforts to improve public health quality and develop local community wisdom scientifically, as well as the sustainable use of plants.

Abstract

Pada era digital 4.0 teknologi memainkan peran penting dalam dunia pendidikan, berbagai informasi mudah diakses melalui smartphone. teknologi AI dapat diterapkan sebagai media penunjang pembelajaran di kelas agar tujuan pembelajaran tetap bermutu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh teknologi Augmented Reality berbasis Assemblr Edu terhadap hasil belajar dan respon peserta didik pada materi pembelahan sel di kelas XII SMA Negeri Kangae. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain Nonquivalent Control Group. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh peserta didik kelas XII MIA dan XII IIS, dengan teknik sampling jenuh sehingga seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel, yakni kelas XII-MIA sebagai kelas kontrol dan XII-IIS sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes formatif dengan instrumen berupa 23 soal pilihan ganda yang mencakup pre-test dan post-test. Analisis hasil belajar menggunakan rumus Normalized Gain (N-Gain) dan uji hipotesis dengan Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan hasil belajar pada materi pembelahan sel berada dalam kategori rendah dan kurang efektif, sehingga metode ini dinilai kurang tepat diterapkan untuk kelas XII SMA Negeri Kangae T.A 2024/2025. Namun, respon peserta didik terhadap penggunaan media ini sangat positif dan menarik. Oleh karena itu, Augmented Reality berbasis Assemblr Edu dapat dijadikan alternatif media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan inovatif, khususnya dalam memvisualisasikan konsep abstrak seperti pembelahan sel.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students of class VIIA SMP Negeri 2 Pahunga Lodu on the material of the Earth and Solar System through a cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type assisted by leaflet and question box media. The type of research applied is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. The research subjects of class VIIA amounted to 33 students. The results showed an increase in the average cognitive score from 48.18 in the pre-cycle to 66.96 in cycle II, while learning completeness from 30.30% to 81.81% in cycle II. In the affective aspect, there was also an increase, with a very high category reaching 75.75% in cycle II. With the above percentage results, the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model assisted by leaflet media equipped with question boxes is proven effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study research to determine the effect of the cooperative learning model of the think talk write type assisted by poster media equipped with LKPD crossword puzzles. This research was conducted at Padadita Catholic Middle School with the research subjects being 34 class VIII A students as the control class and 35 class VIII B students as the experimental class in the 2024/2025 academic year. The type of research conducted is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The results of the study can be seen from the comparison of the average value of the control class 65 (pretest) 76.17 (posttest) and the experimental class the average value obtained was 68.28 (pretest) 81.71 (posttest). The results of the hypothesis testing using the dependent sample t test which has an Asymp. Sig (2 tailed) value of 0.001 means that the value is <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of the think talk write type assisted by poster media equipped with LKPD crossword puzzles has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of class VIII B students which is an experimental class at SMP Katolik padadita.

Abstract

The development of LKPD for biology learning needs to be conducted so that the biology learning process can train students' critical thinking skills in problem-solving. This study aims to identify the needs for LKPD based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which will be developed as teaching materials to support students' critical thinking skills in biology learning, especially in the topic of biodiversity. The method used in this study is qualitative, with a descriptive approach. The subjects used were 30 students from class X MIPA 1 of State Senior High School 2 Sungai Limau. Data collection was conducted in two ways: observational surveys of students and interviews with teachers. Meanwhile, the instruments used were questionnaire sheets and interviews. Through data collection, it was found that learning based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) had not been implemented and there was no LKPD model of PBL-based learning, especially on biodiversity material. Therefore, it is necessary to develop LKPD based on PBL on biodiversity material for grade X of high school.

Abstract

Pengembangan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) Berbasis Video merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat diberikan pendidik kepada pesrta didik sebagai sumber belajar dalam melakukan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangakan LKM berbasis video pada materi materi genetik untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang bersifat valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan yang telah dilakukan mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE yang dikembangkan oleh Reiser dan Mollenda. Tahapan pengembanagan LKM berbasis video terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu (1) analisis, (2) desain, (3) pengembangan, (4) implementasi, dan (5) evaluasi. LKM berbasis video di uji cobakan pada mahasiswa muhammadiyah Maluku dengan jumlah 35 mahasiswa. Hasil validitas dari validator menunjukkan bahwa: (1) LKM berbasis video pada materi genetik yang telah dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran biologi dengan rata-rata nilai yaitu 4,50 yang menunjukkan kategori valid, (2) Respon dosen diperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,23 yang menunjukkan kategori valid, (3) Respon mahasiswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,31 yang menunjukkan kategori valid, (4) Motivasi diperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,77 yang menunjukkan kategori sangat valid, dan (5) Hasil belajar diperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,28 yang menunjukkan kategori valid. Hasil tes kepraktisan LKM berbasis video berdasarkan respon dosen diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 82,47% dengan kategori sangat kuat dan respon mahasiswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 86,63% dengan kategori sangat kuat. Hasil tes efektivitas LKM berbasis video berdasarkan motivasi diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 4,73 dengan kategori sangat baik sedangkan hasil belajar mahasiswa 100 % mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM 75. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKM berbasis video pada materi genetik yang dihasilkan bersifat valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by implementing a combination of Number Head Together (NHT) and Snowball Throwing (ST) learning models assisted by 3D Media on the Human Reproductive System material. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR), with a quantitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Paberiwai in the 2024/2025 academic year. Students' cognitive learning outcomes were measured using posttests in cycles I and II. The results of the study showed that the application of a combination of Number Head Together (NHT) and Snowball Throwing (ST) learning models assisted by 3D Media can improve student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study, the percentage of student learning outcomes in the Precycle of students who completed 31%, in Cycle I 44% and Cycle II 89%. Affective learning outcomes In cycle I, the results obtained were low predicates of 6 students, medium predicates of 12 students, while the high category was 7 students. In cycle II the predicate 5 students in the medium category, and 20 students in the high category. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the application of a combination of Number Head Together (NHT) and Snowball Throwing (ST) learning models assisted by 3D Media can improve the learning outcomes of class X IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Paberiwai.

Abstract

Spodoptera frugiperda is one of the most important leaf pests because it has a wide host range including food crops, industrial crops and horticultural crops. First instar larvae damage plants by boring into leaves and eating leaf tissue, leaving transparent marks on the leaf surface. Corn is a food crop that is a substitute for rice which is very important for human needs. In addition, corn also has a very important role as the main raw material in the animal feed industry. This study used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 5 treatments repeated 4 times, resulting in a total of 20 experimental units. The treatments applied were as follows: k0 = 0% (100 ml of distilled water), k1 = 10% (10 ml of iwi leaf extract + 90 ml of distilled water), K2: 20% (20 ml of iwi leaf extract + 80 ml of distilled water) K3: 30% (30 ml of iwi leaf extract + 70 ml of distilled water). K4: 40% (40 ml of iwi leaf extract + 60 ml of distilled water. The results of this study indicate that the use of iwi leaf extract has no significant effect on armyworm pests. On all observed parameters.

Abstract

Hirschsprung’s Disease (HSCR) is a congenital disorder characterized by the absence of ganglion cells in the intestinal wall, leading to impaired intestinal motility. One of the key genes involved in the pathogenesis of HSCR is the Endothelin Receptor Type B (EDNRB) gene, particularly mutations in exon 6. Detecting these mutations requires specific primers and well-optimized PCR conditions. This study aims to design specific primers for exon 6 of the EDNRB gene using in silico methods and to determine optimal PCR conditions through annealing temperature and primer concentration optimization. Primers were designed based on the EDNRB gene sequence (Accession No. NG_011630.3) using Geneious Prime and validated for specificity using Primer-BLAST. PCR optimization was conducted in vitro using various annealing temperatures 52.8–55.3°C and primer concentrations 0.5–1.1 µM on normal human DNA samples. PCR products were analyzed by 1.5% agarose gel electrophoresis. The primer design for exon 6 of the EDNRB gene yielded the following results: both forward and reverse primers were 20 bp in length, with melting temperatures (Tm) of 58.1°C and 56.1°C, and GC contents of 55% and 50%, respectively. In silico analysis confirmed primer specificity to chromosome 13. Optimal PCR conditions were achieved at an annealing temperature of 55.3°C and a primer concentration of 0.7 µM, yielding a single amplicon of 517 bp.
