Abstract

Abstract

Research in marine areas related to the potential of marine bacteria in Indonesia has been widely conducted. Information on bacterial research originating from the waters of Central Sulawesi, especially Donggala Regency, is still very rare and limited to observations of isolation and characterization. Therefore, a more accurate identification method is needed, namely using molecular. Molecular identification is considered more accurate when compared to other identification methods. This study aims to identify marine bacteria molecularly through the 16S rRNA gene. The method used in this study is experimental with a descriptive approach. The results of the molecular identification of bacterial isolates showed that isolate PS4 had the closest kinship level to Pseudomonas stutzeri. Isolate PS5 has a kinship with Bacillus megaterium and isolate PS6 has the closest kinship to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. All levels of kinship with those obtained were 100% percent identity.

Abstract

The study aims to produce LKPD containing socio-scientific issues on the immune system material that is valid and practical. This type of research is Research and Development. using the 4-D development research model. The subjects of this study were 40 students of Phase F class XII of SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Basung. The data of this study are primary data obtained directly from the research subjects, namely two lecturers from the Biology Department, FMIPA UNP and a biology teacher at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Basung. Based on the research that has been done, the LKPD containing socio-scientific issues on the immune system material for phase F SMA/MA obtained an average validity value of 92.85% with very valid criteria by the validator. The LKPD developed has an average value of 94.89% with very practical criteria according to the teacher and has an average value of 89.32% with practical criteria according to students. Thus, it can be concluded that the LKPD developed is very valid and very practical.

Abstract

Alginate matrix in the form of beads plays an important role in the process of immobilizing bacteria and maintaining their viability and stability in Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) systems. The use of beads contributes to increasing the efficiency of electron transfer from bacteria to electrodes, thus supporting more optimal biolectricity production. This study aims to assess the characteristics of beads resulting from the immobilization of isolates of bioelectric-producing thermophilic bacterial consortium. The research method used was descriptive with visual observation of the color, shape, diameter, and number of bacterial colonies on the beads. Beads were synthesized from 5% sodium alginate solution mixed with six combinations of bacterial isolates (MS 9&12, MS 9&17, MS 9&18, MS 12&17, MS 12&18, and MS 17&18). The results showed that all beads had a round shape, yellowish white color, and diameter between 3.0 mm to 4.0 mm. The largest diameter was produced by the combination of MS 12&18 and MS 17&18 isolates, while the largest number of colonies was found in the combination of MS 12&17.

Abstract

This research discusses the utilization of technology, specifically the KineMaster application, in Islamic Education (PAI) learning to strengthen Islamic values among students. In the digital era, the use of educational technology is increasingly important to create an interactive and engaging learning environment. This study employs a qualitative approach by collecting data from various related literature. The findings indicate that the KineMaster application can enhance learning effectiveness through creative material delivery, such as educational videos that visualize complex religious concepts. Furthermore, technology provides broader access to Islamic learning resources, strengthens student engagement, and facilitates interactive discussions. The readiness of educators and students to adapt to technology is key to the successful implementation of this learning method.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the bioelectricity production pattern of a thermophilic bacterial consortium from Sapan Sungai Aro. Thermophilic bacteria, which can survive at high temperatures, have the potential to generate electricity through their metabolic activity. In this study, the thermophilic bacterial consortium was isolated from Sapan Sungai Aro and tested for bioelectricity production at a 5% concentration with various consortium ratios (1:2, 2:1, 1:3, 3:1). The data show that the stationary phase at the 20th hour produced the highest voltage, which was 0.764 V, at the 3:1 ratio. These results indicate that the optimal composition of the bacterial consortium influences the efficiency of bioelectricity production. Moreover, this study also reveals that both the exponential and stationary phases play important roles in electricity generation, with the stationary phase providing the most ideal metabolic conditions

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have definitions and principles that combine social, economic, and environmental aspects. Achieving SDGs requires a change in mindset and action called sustainability consciousness. In learning, teachers have linked SDGs with materials and projects related to sustainable development. However, students' concern for the environment is still low, so their level of sustainability consciousness is unknown. This study aims to analyze the profile of sustainability consciousness of high school students. This study is a descriptive type of research with quantitative methods. Data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from Gericke et al. (2019), consisting of 18 statements representing two indicators of sustainability consciousness, namely knowledge and attitude, covering three dimensions of SDGs including environment, social, and economy. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by grouping, tabulating, presenting, and calculating data. The results showed that the profile of sustainability consciousness of high school students was in the high category, with an average percentage of 76.38%. The knowledge aspect reached 76.38% and the attitude aspect 76.39%, both of which were in the high category. This shows that students have understood the concept of sustainability awareness and have begun to apply it in their daily lives.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the use of plants as traditional medicine by indigenous Papuans in the Arfak Mountains. The local population residing in the villages of the Arfak Mountains primarily consists of the Arfak tribes, including the Hatam, Sough, and Meyah. These communities have traditionally relied on local plants to address various health issues. The research employed a descriptive method, incorporating interviews and direct field surveys. Respondents were selected based on their extensive knowledge of medicinal plant use. The results revealed that 20 plant species are utilized by the local population to treat a range of health conditions. These include coughs, colds, fevers, flatulence, itching, boils, malaria, external wounds, hypertension, body aches, internal pain, lumps, fertility issues, facilitation of childbirth, and ailments attributed to witchcraft. Some plants are used individually, while others are combined with different plants. Processing methods include mashing, boiling, or squeezing to extract the liquid. Utilization methods involve drinking, chewing and swallowing the juice, or applying it to affected areas. The plant parts used include leaves, stems, tubers, and flowers.
