Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on the problem-solving abilities of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Pegajahan within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research employs a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach, utilizing a Pretest-Posttest Only One Group Design. The population includes all tenth-grade students, with samples selected using Cluster Random Sampling techniques. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' problem-solving abilities following the implementation of PjBL. The t-test results demonstrate a positive effect of PjBL on students' problem-solving skills. Based on these findings, it is concluded that PjBL is an effective teaching method for enhancing students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. This study provides valuable contributions to the development of more innovative and relevant teaching methods, particularly in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aim to describe students’ numeracy literacy skills in solving mathematics problems in the form of story problems. The students involved were class X students at one of 36 high schools in Karawang district, then selected 3 students with high, medium, and low numeracy literacy skills. The method used is a case study research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection technique usedin this survey is a two  dimensional description test of arithmetic rows and rows, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis technique is in the formof an aveage percentage for each indicator of numeracy literacy ability, availability of subject to be intervewed, subject  answer and conclusions. The results of the  study show that the subject with high numbering numeracy literacy is capable of  solving problems using  symbols and numbers, able to analyze the information presented, and able to interpret the result of the analysis to draw the conclusion correctly, where as the subjects with the literacy of categorical numeration are not  capable of interpreting the results of analysis, and subject with low category numerational literacy does not meet the three indicators of numerational literacy, this is because the student isnot  accustomed to working on the story. It was concluded that the numerical literacy of the entire student was categorized quite well.

Abstract

The quality of a nation's education and the current education system can be used to measure the nation's progress. The quality of education in Indonesia is currently very concerning. Upon observation, researchers stated that students lack the fighting spirit needed to overcome various challenges. Fighting power plays an important role in this. This study used qualitative research methods. The sample of this study consisted of all students of class X Accounting of SMKN 1 Sei Bejangkar. Pre-Experiment Design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design model was used in this study. Based on the research findings and discussion of the impact of guided discovery learning model on mathematical reasoning ability and students' fighting power on the material of function relation in class X Accounting of SMKN 1 Sei Bejangkar, it can be concluded that there is a good influence in the use of guided discovey learning model on mathematical reasoning ability and students' fighting power.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics worksheets (LKPD) using traditional game-based ethnomathematics of congklak for second-grade elementary school students and evaluate their feasibility. Research and Development (RD) methodology, employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), was utilized. Data collected included qualitative and quantitative data from SDN 182/I Hutan Lindung during January-February 2024 through validation questionnaires completed by experts and interviews with teachers and students. The data were analyzed to assess the feasibility of the developed ethnomathematics-based LKPD. The outcome is a highly valid and practical mathematics worksheet for second-grade elementary school students, as indicated by average scores of 5 from subject matter, media, and language experts, and teacher response questionnaires. Student response questionnaires in small group trials averaged 4.33, while in large group trials, they averaged 4.58, both showing high practicality. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed mathematics worksheets based on traditional game-based ethnomathematics of congklak are highly valid and practical for second-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the process of developing media, as well as the level of validity and practicality of counting box media. This research uses research and development (RD) methods with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development model. Quantitative data was obtained from material and media validation questionnaires as well as teacher and student responses. Qualitative data consists of input from material and media validators regarding the products being developed. The research was conducted in February 2024 in Class I SDN 103/II Tanjung Agung. The material expert validation results showed a percentage score of 87.5% in the very valid category, while the media expert validation results showed a percentage score of 92.5% in the very valid category. The teacher's response shows a percentage score of 95% in the very practical category, and the student response shows a percentage score of 95.60% in the very practical category. Therefore, based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that the counting box for teaching addition and subtraction material in first grade elementary schools is very valid and practical. The results also show that the counting box is suitable for use

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with local Kerinci culture. The approach used in this research is quantitative using a pre-experimental type. The design used is called One Group Pretest-Posttest. The essay question test is the instrument used in this research. The data from this study was not normally distributed, so the Wilcoxon test was used for statistical analysis. The Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test findings show a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000. This shows that there is an improvement between the before and after tests, the test aims to help students improve their mathematical problem-solving abilities through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model integrated with local Kerinci culture.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' mathematical representation abilities in solving problem-based story problems. The research method applied is a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The population of this study was 24 students of class X MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Telukjambe Barat, and the sample taken was 3 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. The subject selection process is carried out to ensure that the sample reflects special characteristics or traits that are relevant to the research objectives. As a result, subjects were selected to represent categories of high, medium, and low mathematical representation ability. The data collection technique is in the form of a written test designed to measure students' mathematical representation abilities, with the test material focusing on sequences and series. The mathematical representation ability indicators measured involve visual, symbolic and verbal representations. The results show that students' ability to solve story problems is still moderate, with the potential to improve visual, symbolic and verbal skills; students in the high category can fulfill all representation indicators, while students in the low category require intervention to improve their understanding of mathematical word problems. The conclusion are the percentage of student achievement in visual and verbal aspects still being low, indicating the need for a learning approach that is more focused on developing visual representation abilities and verbally in the context of story problems to enrich students' experiences.
