Abstract

Ethnomatematics is an approach in learning that links mathematics with a culture. Applying ethnomathematics in class is very important, because it can make it easier for students to understand mathematical material by linking it to real world problems. The Arak Jodhang culture is one of the cultures in the form of activities of troop convoys wearing soldier's clothing carrying jodhang. In this culture, various mathematical concepts are found. The researcher is interested in conducting this research with the aim of exploring the mathematical concepts found in the Arak Jodhang Nyadran Makam Sewu, Bantul Regency. The method used in this study is explorative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, documentation, interviews, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that there are various mathematical concepts in the Arak Jodhang Nyadran Makam Sewu culture and can be used in teaching mathematics in class. The concepts found include: the concept of circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, geometric shapes, straight lines, and geometric transformations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the development procedures and the effectiveness of using Android-based interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 on mathematical literacy skills. The method used is Research Development (RD) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Based on research and development, the product ABEKUBA (Cube and Block Learning Application) has been approved for use by material and media experts in the form of an android application. User response to this learning media is positive with very good category. The results of the effect size test on mathematical literacy skills obtained the strong effect category. So that it can be concluded that Android-based interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 is effective for students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

The research in this article aims to find out whether there is an influence of students errors in solving math word problems on learning outcomes. The number of samples used was 32 students of class 5 MIN 2 Bengkulu city. The variables studied were student errors and learning outcomes. This article uses quantitative research method. Where to use the regression test, correlation, normality and linearity. Samples were taken randomly Researchers used survey research methods. After being given test questions and calculating the percentage, there are several results obtained, namely conceptual errors in students are 15,6%, procedural errors are 43,8%, and technical errors of 40,6%. So the most errors made are procedural errors. After using the normality, linearity and regression tests, it can be cocluded that sig value.Regresion (0,000) (0,025) indicates that student errors have a significant effect on learning outcomes. The R square number is 0,798 this indicates that the student’s error test score has an effect of 79,8% on learning outcomes and the remaining 20,2% is influenced by variables not examined.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the Numeracy Game (GANU) using the STEAM approach on the numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years old. This research method employs a quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental design known as the nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study consist of 40 children from 2 kindergartens in Sukolilo District, Surabaya. Data was collected through non-participant observation techniques. The data analysis in this study utilized independent t-test. The research findings indicate that the Numeracy Game (GANU) learning with the STEAM approach yielded a sig. value of 0.000 or (2-tailed) 0.05, which means that the null hypothesis  is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the STEAM approach using the Numeracy Game (GANU) in enhancing the numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years old.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prosentase kesulitan siswa serta faktor-faktor internal yang mempengaruhi dalam menyelesaikan soal ligkaran berdasarkan taksonomi Bloom ranah kognitif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, tes dan wawancara. Peneliti mengambil enam subjek untuk diwawancarai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, tingkat kesulitan tertinggi yaitu pada tahap evaluasi dan kesulitan terendah yaitu pada tahap pemahaman dan penerapan. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) prosentase rata-rata peserta didik yang mengalami kesulitan tahap pengetahuan yaitu 6,25%, tahap pemahaman 3,125%, tahap penerapan 3,125%, tahap analisis 12,5%, tahap sintesis 12,5% dan tahap penerapan 25%, 2) Faktor internal kesulitan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal pada pokok bahasan lingkaran berdasarkan taksonomi Bloom ranah kognitif kelas VIII yaitu: kurangnya minat belajar, kurangnya perhatian peserta didik, daya ingat peserta didik yang rendah, keadaan fisik peserta didik, kurangnya rasa percaya diri peserta didik, keahlian menghitung peserta didik yang masih kurang, peserta didik tergesa-gesa dalam mengerjakan dan tidak meneliti kembali ketika jawaban akan dikumpulkan.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the characteristics of spatial questions of PGSD students based on a taxonomy of spatial thinking. This type of research is descriptive research with subjects as many as 22 students selected from 120 PGSD students at Trunojoyo University based on certain criteria. The results of the research were 560 spatial questions which were created by research subjects after being given 6 spatial image objects. The characteristics of the 560 spatial questions based on the taxonomy of spatial thinking are: 414 (73,93%) at primitive spatial level, 99 (17,68%) at simple spatial level, 22 (3,92%) at complex spatial level, 10 (1,79%) non-spatial level. These results conclude that the spatial questions characteristics of the subject tend to be at the primitive spatial level which leads to lower cognitive questions. Other research findings included 15 (2,68%) spatial questions that were not accommodated in the taxonomy of spatial thinking, giving rise to indications of the addition of a new level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the ability to understand mathematical concepts with anxiety and independence in learning mathematics in Tadris Mathematics students at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. A good understanding of mathematical concepts is an important aspect of learning mathematics, while anxiety and independent learning can affect performance and learning outcomes in mathematics. The approach used in this study is quantitative where this research uses a correlational research design. The sample used in this study was Tadris Mathematics students at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu Class of 2021 who are taking lectures this semester. The instruments used included testing the understanding of mathematical concepts, the mathematics anxiety questionnaire, and the mathematics learning independence questionnaire. The description of mathematical concepts is one of the key aspects in the success of learning mathematics mathematics. The results of the information analysis show that there is a significant relationship between the description of the concept and anxiety and learning independence. Students who have a better understanding of concepts tend to have lower levels of anxiety and greater levels of learning independence. These findings indicate that conceptual understanding has an important role in reducing anxiety and increasing student learning independence. This research makes a crucial contribution to our understanding of the factors that influence students' learning anxiety and independence in mathematics. The practical implication of this research is that learning approaches that promote effective understanding of concepts can help reduce students' anxiety and increase their learning independence. Therefore, it is important for students in the Tadris Mathematics study program as prospective mathematics teachers to consider understanding concepts as a relevant factor in supporting learning success.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize the effect of ethnomathematics learning on students' mathematical thinking abilities. Data were obtained from primary studies in the form of journals in the 2018-2023 range. Six studies that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed using JASP 0.17.3 software. The results showed that ethnomathematics learning had a very strong influence on students' mathematical thinking abilities (gRE= 1,714; 95% CI [0,983; 2,446]; p 0,001). when compared to traditional learning. As for the results of the analysis of the moderator variable, it shows that the engagement variable (Qb = 7,841; p = 0,005) and education level (Qb = 27,505; p = 0,000) have a significant influence on the effectiveness of ethnomathematics learning on mathematical thinking skills. The results of this study provide important information regarding future meta-analytic research and the application of ethnomathematics in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical creative thinking abilities of class VII extrovert students in solving open-ended questions on flat shape material. This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. This study involved 3 seventh graders studnets who were taken using purposive sampling technique as research subjek. The instrument used for taking prospective subjects is the extrovert personality questionnaire. The data collection techniques used are tests of creative thinking abilities, interviews and field notes.  The data analysis techniques in this study used technical triangulation, namely data redduction, presentation data and conclusion. The results of the study show that extroverted students bring out aspects of novelty and flexibility. Based on research results, the creative thinking abilities of extroverted students is classified at level 2 (Quite Creative). Extrovert students need a discussion space to get feedback so they can issue or present their ideas fluently.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model in improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research was carried out at SD N 1 Ujungpandan Welahan Jepara with the research subjects of 21 students on the volume of cubes and blocks for the 2022/2023 academic year. The research method used is classroom action research, which is carried out over two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. This study also used data collection techniques of interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. Data analysis of this study used quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that in cycle I, students' mathematical problem-solving ability increased from precycle 38% to 71%. In cycle II, students' mathematical problem-solving ability also increased to 100%. This is because the teacher has related the material according to everyday life so that students are easier to solve the problem of cube and block volume. Thus, the use of the CTL model can improve the mathematical problem solving ability of grade V students of SD N 1 Ujungpandan.
