Abstract

This study aims to examine the sources of financing for rice farming on different land tenure status, examine the pattern of financing for rice farming in the research location and examine the factors that influence farmers in the utilization of financing sources. The method of determining the location by multistages sampling and the method of determining the sample is stratified purposive sampling. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and probit regression model (probability unit). The results showed that 64% of sharecroppers and 57% of sharecroppers used independent sources of capital, while 26% of sharecroppers and 33% of sharecroppers used loan capital and the other 10% used shared capital. Sources of financing for farmer loans, namely neighbors with a pattern of loan repayments, do not have special requirements and the repayment period is relatively long. Factors that influence farmers in utilizing sources of financing for their rice farming are education, land area and land tenure status. Education has a positive effect on the use of financing sources, while land area and land tenure status have a negative effect.

Abstract

The main challenge in the livestock sector today is soaring production costs due to the limited availability of conventional forage. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of Megarhizo Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) on the productivity and morphological characteristics of duckweed (Lemna sp.) as a candidate for alternative feed. Specifically, this study aimed to map plant responses, including fresh weight, dry weight, leaf width, and root length, as well as their impact on the stability of the growing medium's water quality. This experiment was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four POC dosage levels (P0: 0 ml, P1: 15 ml, P2: 20 ml, and P3: 25 ml per 10 liters of water) with four replications. The data analysis results showed that the application of POC had a significant effect (P < 0.05) in improving the quality of the cultivation environment, indicated by a decrease in water temperature and a neutralization of the pH level from alkaline conditions (9.17) to the optimal range (7.79). However, the addition of nutrients through liquid organic fertilizer (POC) did not have a significant impact (P > 0.05) on all physical plant growth parameters. Among all treatments, the P1 dose (15 ml/10L) was identified as the most efficient concentration because it produced the maximum average root length (25.89 cm) and dry matter weight (4.71 grams) compared to other doses. This study concluded that although it was not able to significantly increase biomass in a short time, the Megarhizo liquid organic fertilizer played a crucial role in creating more ideal growing media conditions for the sustainability of duckweed cultivation as a source of animal feed.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing cow dung and animal feed waste as raw materials for composting on the quality of macronutrient content including nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). The background of this study is based on the importance of managing livestock waste into useful products for the agricultural sector as well as an environmentally friendly solution to improve soil structure and support sustainable agricultural systems. The research method was carried out by applying five treatment levels, namely P0 as a control, and P1, P2, P3, and P4 which involved the addition of EM4 activator up to a concentration of 5%. The results of the analysis showed that in the nitrogen parameter, the highest average was achieved by treatment P3 at 0.59, followed by P4 (0.57) and P0 (0.55), but statistically the results showed no significant difference (P <0.05) across all treatments. This indicates that treatment variations have not been able to significantly increase nitrogen content, which is thought to be due to the uniform decomposition process and the risk of nitrogen loss in the form of ammonia during the composting process. In contrast, for the phosphorus parameter, the P4 treatment produced the highest yield of 0.39 and showed a significant difference compared to the other treatments, with the lowest value at P0 of 0.28. The effectiveness of P4 in increasing phosphorus is closely related to the optimal activity of phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms in breaking down organic compounds into inorganic compounds that are available to plants. The most significant increase was seen in the potassium parameter, where the P4 treatment produced the highest value of 0.85, followed by P3 (0.71), P2 (0.67), P1 (0.61), and P0 (0.43). Statistical analysis showed that the treatment had a very significant effect on potassium levels, which was influenced by the high original mineral content in the raw materials and the effectiveness of the decomposition process in breaking down complex minerals into readily absorbable elements. Overall, the study concluded that the application of EM4 up to 5% had a very significant effect on increasing potassium, but did not have a statistically significant effect on nitrogen and phosphorus content in the final conclusion. The use of this technology has proven effective in reducing livestock waste and optimizing the overall quality of organic fertilizer.

Abstract

The coffee agroforestry system in the Bukit Daun Community Forest (HKm), Lebong Regency, integrates conservation functions and the improvement of community economy. This study aims to analyze the condition of livelihood resources, the application of agroecology, the structure of agroforestry income, and the relationships between variables. The study sample consisted of 182 respondents using proportional random sampling techniques. Analysis was conducted using a 0–1 scale index (Min-Max Scaling), descriptive income analysis, and SEM-PLS. The results show that livelihood resources are in the moderate category, with the highest index in natural capital (0.516), followed by financial (0.507), social (0.455), physical (0.418), and human (0.316). The application of agroecology is fairly good in biological synergy (0.747) and biomass recycling (0.632), but low in biodiversity (0.206). The income structure is dominated by main crops at 87%, while intercropped plants make up 13%. SEM-PLS results indicate that agroecology is influenced by natural capital, financial, and social, whereas acceptance is influenced by social, human, financial, and physical capital.

Abstract

Green mustard is a leafy horticultural crop whose growth is strongly influenced by nutrient availability during the vegetative stage. This study aimed to analyze the effects of manure type and application rate on the growth and yield of green mustard and to determine the optimal treatment. The experiment was arranged in a two-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), consisting of manure type (chicken, cattle, and goat manure) and manure rate (0, 12.5, 25, 37.5, and 50 g per polybag), with four replications. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, and fresh weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that manure type and application rate had significant to highly significant effects on all observed parameters, with chicken manure at a rate of 37.5 g per polybag producing the best vegetative growth. These findings indicate that chicken manure applied at an optimal rate can effectively supply nutrients to support the growth of green mustard.

Abstract

Risk is defined as the probability of an expected event occurring. An increase in the probability of a small profit will increase the risk of a business. Price fluctuations are a common occurrence in the marketing of shallots and garlic commodities. This study aims to analyze the price risks of shallots and garlic and compare them in South Sulawesi Province. This research is quantitative, with time series data on shallot and garlic prices in South Sulawesi Province from 2021 to 2025 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Makassar City, South Sulawesi, the South Sulawesi Provincial Food Security Office, the Strategic Food Price Information Center, and other sources. The research data was collected using literature study techniques. Data analysis techniques include Variance Calculation, Standard Deviation, and Coefficient of Variation to analyze price risk, and a t-test to compare the risk levels of shallot and garlic prices. The results showed that the average price of garlic in South Sulawesi (Rp 29,345.69/kg) was higher than that of shallots (Rp 27,933.33/kg) during the 2021-2025 period. Although both commodities have high price volatility and fluctuations (standard deviation of 7.675), shallots pose a higher risk due to their higher coefficient of variation (75.85%) compared to garlic (63.92%). The t-test results revealed a significant difference between the average prices of shallots and garlic in South Sulawesi Province for the period 2021 to 2025. This was concluded because the significance value of 0.025 < 0.05 and the calculated t-value (2.2427) > t-table (1.9646).

Abstract

Bengkulu City, as the capital of Bengkulu Province, has experienced rapid growth in the trade sector, in line with the increase in population reaching 397,321 people in 2024. This condition makes fruit shop businesses have great potential to develop, although their success is highly dependent on selecting a strategic location, considering that fruits are perishable goods. This study aims to map the distribution of fruit shop locations, analyze the influence of location factors on business profits, and formulate appropriate location selection strategies. The research was conducted from November to December 2025 using a census method of 35 fruit shops, of which 25 agreed to be interviewed. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied through GIS analysis and multiple linear regression. The results show that the distribution of fruit shops is uneven and concentrated in several districts, and that only the number of visitors significantly affects profits, indicating that location strategies must be adjusted to market characteristics.
