JURNAL PSIMAWA: Diskursus Ilmu psikologi dan Pendidikan merupakan jurnal berkala ilmiah yang dipublikasi oleh Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa terbit setahun dua kali, yakni bulan Juni dan Desember. Jurnal Psimawa berisikan tulisan ilmiah berupa hasil penelitian, survei, gagasan konseptual atau hasil pemikiran reflektif yang kritis tentang diskursus ilmu-ilmu psikologi dan pendidikan yang disajikan secara sistematik dengan menggunakan gaya selingkung. Jurnal ini menerima tulisan dosen, peneliti, mahasiswa dan serta pemerhati dalam bidang-bidang psikologi dan pendidikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the types of parenting styles that are associated with adolescence and young adult emotional regulation skills, and to explore their long-term impact on their emotional health. Using a survey method with an online questionnaire, this study involved 30 participants aged between 12 – 25 years. Parenting styles were categorized into four types: authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, and neglectful. The results showed that authoritarian parenting was associated with high levels of emotional repression, which is often associated with anxiety disorders, frustration, and depression. Authoritative parenting showed more controlled emotional repression, while permissive parenting had a passive impact on emotional regulation. No participants reported neglectful parenting, most likely due to limitations in sampling. These findings emphasize the importance of supportive parenting in the formation of healthy emotional regulation skills in adolescents and young adults, as well as the urgency to create a more balanced and responsive parenting environment to their emotional needs. This study is expected to provide insight for parents and practitioners in developing more effective parenting strategies

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara emotional labor dan organizational commitment pada karyawan perhotelan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 120 responden yang merupakan karyawan hotel berbintang 4 dan 5 dari berbagai departemen. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Hospitality Emotional Labor Scale (HELS) dan Organizational Commitment Scale (OCS). Analisis data menggunakan uji Spearman Correlation karena data tidak terdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif namun tidak signifikan antara emotional labor dan komitmen organisasi. Dimensi emotive dissonance memiliki hubungan negatif tidak signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi, sedangkan emotive effort menunjukkan hubungan negatif signifikan. Kesimpulannya, emotional labor tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap organizational commitment secara keseluruhan, namun strategi pengelolaan emosi tetap penting diperhatikan untuk meningkatkan loyalitas karyawan.

Abstract

Nowadays, The imbalance between work and life balance is one of the main issues that many people confront in the workplace these days. This is demonstrated by high overtime, tight deadlines, and the propensity to take work home. Through the use of time management and relaxation techniques, this project seeks to develop and deploy a toolbox in the form of an e-module that will enhance work-life balance. Descriptive qualitative methods, semi-structured interviews, and observations were used to gather data. The information was then subjected to a thematic analysis. The findings demonstrated that the e-module, which incorporates mindfulness exercises, reflective journaling, and the Pomodoro method, can assist individuals in bettering their work-life balance, managing their time, and lowering stress. creating long-term plans for managing human resources.

Abstract

Life in prison often causes psychological distress for prisoners, such as difficulty accepting themselves and a sense of helplessness. Religiosity can be a factor that helps face these challenges and improve psychological well-being. This study aims to determine the significant influence between religiosity and psychological well-being in prisoners of narcotics cases. This quantitative study involved 115 male prisoners, with data collection using non-probability sampling method and analyzed through IBM SPSS 27. The instruments used were The Centrality of Religiosity Scale (? = .914) and Psychological Well-Being Scale (? = .779). The regression test results show that religiosity has an effect of 18.1% on the psychological well-being of prisoners in the Jakarta Narcotics Prison. This finding shows that religiosity is one important aspect in supporting psychological well-being, although there are other factors that play a role.

Abstract

Pentingnya Sense of School Belonging di sekolah dalam kehidupan siswa memiliki pengaruh positif, memacu perkembangan empati, optimisme, harga diri, dan perasaan bahagia secara subjektif. Namun, kenyataannya, ketika siswa merasa kurang memiliki SoSB, hal ini dapat menyebabkan munculnya perilaku bermasalah di lingkungan sekolah. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya peran kebersyukuran dalam diri setiap individu untuk meningkatkan SoSB siswa tidak dapat diabaikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki bagaimana sense of school belonging pada siswa SMA dipengaruhi oleh kebersyukuran. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA yang berusia antara 15 hingga 18 tahun, dengan populasi mencapai 225 siswa. Sebanyak 144 siswa SMA dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian, terdiri dari 45 (31,3%) laki-laki dan 99 (68,8%), perempuan, dengan penggunaan teknik simpel random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala kebersyukuran yang terdiri dari 11 item (? = 0,78) dan skala sense of school belonging yang terdiri dari 18 item (? = 0,91), yang disebarkan melalui platform Google Form.Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan regresi Linear sederhana, dan hipotesis penelitian mendukung adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan secara statistik antara kebersyukuran terhadap sense of school belonging, nilai thitung = 7.857 ? 1.976 = Ttabel dan (p ? 0.01) dengan koefisien determinasi R2 sebesar 30,3%. Disimpulkan bahwa kebersyukuran berpengaruh secara positif sebesar 30,3% terhadap sense of school belonging pada siswa SMA, sementara sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variable lain yang tidak termasuk dalam penelitian.

Abstract

The continuously evolving fashion trends, which show no signs of slowing down, have negative impacts on both individuals and the environment. This phenomenon also drives consumers to constantly follow trends without proper financial planning, leading to impulsive buying behavior. This study aims to identify the influence of financial literacy on impulsive buying of fashion products. The data in this research were obtained using a quantitative approach, with participants aged 18–25 years, representing various genders, locations, and monthly expenditure levels, and having prior experience with impulsive purchases of fashion products in the recent past. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, resulting in a total of 86 respondents. The data were analysed with simple regression and processed using SPSS 26. The study found that financial literacy has a significant negative effect on impulsive buying behavior, particularly among Gen Z consumers in the context of fashion products.

Abstract

Di era globalisasi sekarang ini, terjadi banyak perubahan baik perubahan lingkungan maupunperubahan budaya. Hal-hal tersebut tentunya juga memicu semakin cepatnya perubahan polakonsumen. Perubahan ini menyebabkan banyak perusahaan berlomba untuk berinovasi agar dapat memenangkan hati konsumen dan tetap bertahan. Saat ini dikarenakan penerapanteknologi informasi dan komunikasi sedang tumbuh berlebihan Hal ini juga berimbas kepadastasiun televisi untuk terus menghadirkan inovasi, baik dalam program tayangan maupun dalammedia penyiaran. Singkatnya, perusahaan perlu dapat menyesuaikan dan menciptakan strategi untuk mengikuti perubahan yang cepat ini (Hamdan, 2018). Penyesuaian ini tentu tidak terlepasdari kinerja para pegawai di dalam organisasi yang dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilanperusahaan. Maka dari itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji validitas dari skala alat ukurorganizational learning. Sampel dalam penelitian ini merupakan para karyawan yang bekerja di perusahaan bidang jasa di Indonesia. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan metodekuantitatif. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah, organizational learning dariAlavi et al. (2014). Analisis kualitas aitem nantinya akan dilakukan dengan menggunakanTeknik analisis data GPCM. Hasil dari analisis data yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa aitemnomor CL5, SV6, OM2, dan OM5 memiliki index diskriminan (dibawah 0,2) dan ICC yang tidak dapat mengukur kemampuan para partisipan sehingga, aitem tersebut harus direvisi ataudigugurkan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between interpersonal conflict and anxiety levels among university students. The research employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. A total of 176 active students voluntarily participated in completing the online questionnaires using the Interpersonal Conflict Scale and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). The results of validity and reliability tests indicated that both the interpersonal conflict scale and the anxiety scale met the criteria for valid and reliable measurement. The assumption test showed that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, Spearman’s rank-order correlation was used for the analysis. The findings revealed a strong and significant positive relationship between interpersonal conflict and anxiety levels (r = 0.868; p < 0.05). Furthermore, simple linear regression analysis showed that interpersonal conflict contributed 62.8% to the variation in students’ anxiety levels. These findings highlight that interpersonal conflict is significantly associated with students’ anxiety.

Abstract

Early adulthood is a stage when individuals often initiate romantic relationships, including interethnic dating, which is increasingly common in Indonesia. These relationships face unique challenges, with jealousy being a key issue that can lead to aggression. This study examines the effect of jealousy on aggression in interethnic dating relationships. Using a quantitative approach with a regression analysis design, data were collected from 211 individuals in interethnic relationships through incidental sampling. The Multidimensional Jealousy Scale (MJS) and Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ) were used to assess jealousy and aggression, respectively. Data analysis using ANOVA regression showed that jealousy significantly influences aggression (t = 2.609, p = 0.010), indicating that higher jealousy levels are associated with increased aggression. These findings highlight the need for interventions to manage jealousy in interethnic couples to reduce aggressive behavior. Future studies are encouraged to explore strategies for fostering healthy and harmonious interethnic romantic relationships in Indonesia.

Abstract

Education is an important thing that can improve and develop individual potential, so it takes an effort to achieve everything. If students who study while working do not have good grit skills, it will have a negative impact on their academic resilience. This study aims to determine the relationship between grit and academic resilience in students who study while working. This research adopts a quantitative method involving 379 respondents in the JABODETABEK area. The measuring instrument used in this study were the grit scale and the academic resilience scale (ARS-30). The analysis method in this study uses the Spearman rank-order correlation test, because the data obtained in this study were not normally distributed. The research findings indicate a significant positive correlation between grit and academic resilience (p = 0.000) with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.496. Thus, it can be concluded that higher levels of grit correspond to increased academic resilience among students who study while working.
