Abstract

Purwasari Village is a village that has great potential in the field of aquaculture. These potentials include ponds that have not been utilized optimally and water sources that are channeled from irrigation. In addition, the potential in the field of human resources in Purwasari Village with groups engaged in fisheries is still not maximized. The people of Purwasari Village have a high interest in aquaculture activities, but the lack of knowledge related to cultivation aspects is an obstacle to improving the quality of production. In addition, the slow growth of female tilapia caused by wild spawning causes an increase in feed costs which is one of the main limiting factors for cultivators. The purpose of the PPK Ormawa activity is to empower the Purwasari Village community through monosex tilapia cultivation and tilapia fillet processing in order to increase village profitability and community food security during the Covid-19 pandemic. This activity method is carried out in a hybrid way, offline activities are carried out for field surveys, counseling and controlling and online activities are carried out to hold online meetings between lecturers, presenters and village communities as well as evaluation of ongoing program activities. This activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge, skills, number of members of the target group and the responsibilities of each individual. Physical change indicators can be seen in the revitalization of ponds and the provision of hatchery, nursery and rearing pond infrastructure for monosex tilapia. The formation of the Women Farmers Group for processing tilapia fillets and increasing the number of members of the Millennial Tani Tani group.

Labuhan Haji Beach has a problem with piles of plastic waste on the beach. According to observations made by the Coastal Environmental & Fisheries Research Institute (CEF), the plastic waste found on Labuhan Haji Beach amounts to 9.18 tonnes or around 0.77 kg/m2. Since 2018 efforts have been made by the Government and stakeholders to deal with this problem, starting from making regulations, cleaning up, to anti-plastic waste campaigns. However, these efforts have not had a significant impact both physically and non-physically. The purpose of implementing this dedication is to form institutions within the scope of the Haj harbor community; the creation of trash trap facilities on the river route to Labuhan Haji Beach. The method of implementing this service is divided into 6 (six) activities, namely deliberation and coordination, outreach, making trash traps, installing trash traps, operating trash traps, monitoring and evaluation. This activity is expected to provide a solution to prevent plastic waste from going into the sea. The results achieved in this community service activity were being able to gather several stakeholders such as DLHK of NTB Province, DLHK of East Lombok Regency, Pemdes Labuhan Haji which had never before had joint coordination and deliberation activities in alleviating waste problems at Labuhan Haji Beach, providing outreach to the residents of Labuhan Haji Village who live on the banks of the river, are able to build 1 (one) Trash Trap at the mouth of the Labuhan Haji River which has been able to dispel ± 10 (ten) tons of waste with a total number of volunteers of 100 people from 10 agencies in the Regency East Lombok. Labuhan Haji Village already has a trash barrier facility in the form of a trash trap. The impact felt after this service activity was carried out was that 90% of the garbage heading to Labuhan Haji Beach could be blocked.

Abstract

The widespread of Covid-19 has extensive repercussions, particularly on the economy and societal well-being. The Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LPPM) of IPB University, through the IPB Goes To Field (IGTF) Program, collaborates with the IPB Vocational School to contribute to the revival of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) affected by pandemic. One of them is UMKM Gapoktan Mandiri Jaya. A substantial decline in sales has been experienced post-pandemic, particularly given the reliance on conventional sales methods involving face-to-face interactions and direct marketing. The IGTF program’s objective is to assist MSMEs in enhancing their sales by leveraging technological advancements, specifically through digital marketing. This initiative aims for business operator not only to acquire technical understanding but also to become proficient in autonomous operations after the program’s completion. The method employed in this undertaking is Participatory Learning Activity (PLA). Intensive mentoring will be provided to business operators during the knowledge dissemination process, culminating in operational simulations. The implementation of digital marketing guidance unfolds across various stages, beginning with awareness campaigns, followed by digital marketing planning, photo product session, digital marketing mentoring, and immersive simulation. Sustainable digital marketing provisions are delivered in two stages: writing pocket guidebook and provision of photos and videos resources.

Abstract

Plastic waste pollution has become one of the central issues of society in Indonesia, considering the various negative impacts on the environment, economy, safety, and health arising from the presence of this waste. Therefore, the Government of Indonesia has established policies to improve the performance of reducing household and household-like waste through various strategies. One of these strategies is the recycling and reuse of household waste and formal and informal education. This activity was carried out to provide education on the importance of protecting the environment and managing waste for the people of Karanggintung Village. In addition, providing training on making handicrafts made from plastic is an effort to manage waste. Activities are carried out with the stages of preparation for activities, counseling, implementation of training, and ending with activity evaluation. The training is carried out using the demonstration method carried out by a team of partners, lecturers, and students with a participatory approach that involves the community being actively involved in all activities. The activity was prepared by compiling an activity plan followed by coordinating with the Banyumas Regency Environmental Service (DLH) and the Karanggintung Village Head and his staff. After that, counseling was carried out about the importance of processing plastic waste to the public about the potential for plastic waste to enter the sea so that it is harmful to marine organisms. The next stage is training on processing plastic waste into various handicraft products, which is attended by community cadres who are expected to become a driving force for other communities. The training was carried out by demonstrating the manufacture of handicraft products made from plastic. After that, the participants practiced with the team.
