Abstract

The issue of water scarcity in several areas of Indonesia, especially in Desa Kidang, has hindered the utilization of home garden land for cultivation, particularly of food crops like vegetables. In Desa Kidang, there are numerous unused plots of land. To address this problem, a simple drip irrigation system has been implemented as a solution to conserve water and time in plant irrigation. The objective of this activity is to enhance water usage efficiency in the cultivation of pakchoy plants through the use of a simple drip irrigation method. This system ensures optimal water usage in plant growth. The implementation of this project involves location surveys, discussions with partners, installation of the drip irrigation system, the cultivation of pakchoy plants, monitoring, and evaluation. As a result, the drip irrigation system has been able to save water by 50-70%. After the installation, caring for pakchoy plants becomes more efficient in terms of watering. Nevertheless, consistency in maintenance remains necessary to combat threats such as caterpillar infestations. Water usage efficiency through simple drip irrigation is crucial, especially in the cultivation of pakchoy, because, in addition to water conservation, it facilitates automatic watering and enhances plant production yields.

Abstract

Service to villages affected by disasters is part of the government's efforts and conscience in reducing the risk of loss of life and the risk of material loss. This service was carried out in Klakah, Selo, Boyolali which was the KRB III eruption of Mount Merapi. The village government is trying to create a map of geological disaster vulnerability and regional planning, namely from regional planning (PWK). This map was created from primary data and secondary data to provide an image and analysis of the vulnerability of Klakah village. The aim is to create a disaster vulnerability map on a village scale with a population of around 3000 people. Provide information on the vulnerability of the Klakah area from disasters that have occurred and the geological condition of the Klakah village area. The method for implementing community service is to conduct a focus group discussion with the relevant government, namely Klakah village officials. Collect data, both population and regional data. Conduct surveys or field observations by looking at natural conditions in terms of geography and geology. This discussion forum succeeded in collecting secondary data in the form of regional data and population data. Primary data collected were temporary gathering points and evacuation routes to the village office. Data on rivers, rice fields and roads. This secondary and primary data will later be processed with ArGIs. The results will be regional maps and geological maps. The combination of regional and geological for this service is in the form of a disaster map at the Klakah village scale by dividing it into three disaster vulnerability zones from very vulnerable, moderately vulnerable and vulnerable. The results of the classification resulted in an analysis of the vulnerability of the Klakah area to eruptions. It is hoped that the Klakah village government can bridge the understanding of evacuation maps. The public can use the map as a guide to mitigating the Merapi eruption disaster.

Abstract

The goldfish (Carassius auratus) has become one of the most sought-after ornamental fish today. The continuously rising market demand for goldfish as pets and decorative objects has driven the growth of the goldfish (Carassius auratus) farming industry. However, fish farmers still face difficulties in controlling the health of the fish and the quality of their water. The aquatic environment plays a crucial role in the growth of goldfish (Carassius auratus). Therefore, environmental management and fish health are essential in goldfish (Carassius auratus) farming. After the PKM Team analyzed the existing issues, the activities carried out to address these issues include the implementation of an Environmentally Friendly Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) in the goldfish (Carassius auratus) farming ponds. In this PKM program, water filtration will consist of mechanical filters, biological filters, chemical filters, and UV light. The results of the community service activities conducted by the PKM Team with their partners include increased knowledge, improved skills, increased production capacity, and increased profitability. Abstract

A fishery commodity that is in great demand because it contains good nutrition is tilapia. Rearing fish fry is a critical phase that allows many deaths to occur. The death of fry is generally due to the quality of the cultivation water decreasing due to the accumulation of dirt from both food waste and fish feces. In general, the way to overcome this is by changing the water. However, this will not be efficient if done on a large scale. The aim of this activity is to apply Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology to seed production businesses to minimize water use, maintain water quality and optimal survival of tilapia seeds. The activity method consists of socializing PKM activities, training and mentoring in the application of Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology. Training and assistance consists of building recirculation ponds, preparing and maintaining filter media, as well as maintaining tilapia fry and measuring water quality. When applying Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology, the results obtained are that the tilapia rearing pond with a series of RAS systems has been installed properly and is integrated with a drum filter. The filter drum consists of several filters from bottom to top, namely palm fiber, pumice stone, charcoal and bioball. Each filter has its own role as a physical, chemical and biological filter in removing aquaculture waste such as feces and fish food residue. Maintaining tilapia fry by providing food and measuring water quality. The survival result of tilapia seeds was 100% in 20 days of rearing tilapia seeds in recirculation ponds. Based on this activity, it can be concluded that the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology pond is able to maintain water quality, increase seed survival even without water changes (water saving).
