Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused various aspects of life in the world to experience quite drastic changes, especially health aspects. Studies show that there has been a decrease in the number of immunization services in health facilities by 84% as a result of the pandemic and the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy implemented by the government. In many countries, low immunization coverage can be caused by several factors, including geographic barriers that cause disparities between urban and rural areas. A study found much lower vaccination rates in children living in rural areas compared to urban areas. This inequality in vaccine coverage rates can be overcome, one of the ways is by increasing knowledge about vaccines. This activity aims to increase community capacity regarding basic immunization programs during the pandemic. It is hoped that the results of this activity can act as a basis for consideration for regional and national policy making regarding health promotion and education in order to increase community capacity in the context of basic immunization programs. The outreach activity was held at the Narmada Community Health Center, West Lombok Regency in September 2021. Participants in the activity were the local community consisting of mothers of productive age who were either pregnant or planning to become pregnant, midwives and local community leaders. However, due to the second wave of COVID-19, the activity mechanism was facilitated through digital media. The enthusiasm of the activity participants was so good that the number of participants exceeded the initial target. Activity participants watched educational videos and were able to master the material presented well. This is proven by an increase in the post test scores obtained by participants compared to the pre test scores. Apart from that, through this activity five educational video episodes were produced with various themes related to basic immunization during the pandemic which were distributed via the YouTube channel. The activity succeeded in increasing community capacity regarding basic immunization programs during the pandemic. This will be the basis for the team's consideration in making recommendations for regional and national policies regarding health promotion and education in order to increase community capacity in the context of basic immunization programs.

Abstract

Pematang johar Village or what is known today as the Rice Field Tourism Village is one of the villages in Deli Serdang district. This village is one of the rice storage villages in Deli Serdang district. Most of the residents in the village of Pematang Johar work as farmers including rice farmers. In increasing the productivity of rice plants, it is necessary to carry out learning or guidance related to cultivation in agriculture. One of the supporting factors in increasing productivity is related to fertilization and the use of pesticides or plant pest control. The purpose of the activity of making organic fertilizers and vegetable pesticides is the application of technology in sustainable agriculture. In addition, this activity provides benefits to the community, especially farmers from Pematang Johar Village, Dusun XV, to understand the manufacture of organic fertilizers and vegetable pesticides. So that people, especially farmers, know about the differences between organic farming and inorganic farming. The results to be achieved in the activity of making organic fertilizers and vegetable pesticides to increase the ability of the women of Pematang Johar Dusun XV Village, although initially the mothers of Pematang Johar Dusun XV Village had difficulty understanding the tricks we provided but the enthusiasm from the village mothers Pematang Johar Dusun XV is very strong so that we are still enthusiastic about providing an understanding of this vegetable pesticide.

Abstract

The Vannamei shrimp cultivation system used by the Tambak Atok Asri group employs traditional cultivation methods. However, traditional pond cultivation currently faces several challenges. Some of these challenges include suboptimal productivity of the cultivation, shrimp growth that does not meet the target and declining shrimp health due to decreasing water quality in traditional ponds. This community engagement activity aims to convert traditional system shrimp cultivation technology to an intensive system to increase the productivity of harvested shrimp in the shrimp ponds of Air Jukung Village. The method of this activity is actively participatory with the involvement of cultivator groups starting from planning, implementation, and evaluation. The result of the activity is that the conversion of the traditional shrimp cultivation system to an intensive system can increase crop productivity and shrimp growth according to the target. The conclusion from this service is that partners have the knowledge and skills to convert traditional system shrimp cultivation technology to an intensive system which can increase shrimp productivity.

Abstract

Kaung Island has the potential for seagrass ecosystems which are important ecosystems for the survival of various types of aquatic biota. Rahmawati et al., (2014) said that seagrass damage is caused by natural and human factors, especially those who are active in coastal areas. This is due to a lack of understanding and public awareness. As for the things that need to be done for the sustainability of seagrass ecosystems, namely by providing understanding to the community starting from identifying species, benefits and monitoring or data collection. The purpose of this service activity is to provide understanding to the community regarding seagrass ecology which includes types, benefits, status and threats as well as monitoring the condition of seagrass ecosystems. The method used in this service is in the form of counseling by resource persons and discussions regarding the role of seagrass ecosystems and the damage they face, as well as how to monitor seagrass cover. The results of the community service activities show that the community is very enthusiastic about being actively involved in efforts to manage seagrass ecosystems and monitoring results show that seagrass conditions at the location are included in the less rich category with a percentage of 37.5% with the highest percentage of species cover shown by Enhalus acoroides and Thalassia hemprichii. It is necessary to carry out transplant activities which are an effort to overcome the problem of the condition of the seagrass ecosystem in Mutiara Beach so that the function of the seagrass ecosystem can be ecologically sustainable, considering that the seagrass ecosystem in the area provides economic services to the people in the coastal area of Mutiara Beach. Service activities are very beneficial to the community, and have changed their mindset such as their understanding and awareness.

Abstract

Ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) di Indonesia merupakan jenis ikan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi dan telah menjadi salah satu komoditas yang disukai, dan harga relatif terjangkau serta budidayanya yang cukup mudah. Ikan yang dibudidayakan sering mengalami penyakit yang menyebabkan kematian dan tentunya merugikan para petani ikan. Potensi yang ada di daerah Pangandaran tidak lepas dari darah lautnya yang yang sangat beragam, salah satunya adalah alga cokelat. Alga coklat (Sargassum cristaefolium) merupakan salah satu jenis rumput laut yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai feed suplement dalam pakan ikan dan memiliki zat imunostimulan yang dapat meningkatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh ikan dan meningkatkan nafsu makan ikan sehingga berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan ikan.

Abstract

Giving Back To The Community (GBTTC) is the implementation of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program. This activity was carried out by students of the Dutch NHL Stenden University of Applied Science (NHL Stenden) minor program in collaboration with students of Triatma Mulya University (UNTRIM) Bali. This activity aims to share knowledge by teaching school children at Balai Banjar (RW) and implementing the theory of laughter yoga and meditation for the ELDERLY. The method of this activity is: carried out by student groups consisting of the NHL Stenden and UNTRIM teams, where each group teaches children and teaches the elderly in four balai banjar (RW) in turn. Each team consists of students taking the minor Entrepreneurship and Business Consultant (EBC) programs, Event Management (EM) and Mindfullness Leadership (ML). Students of the EBC and EM minor programs teach school children in balai banjar (RW), students of the ML minor program teach laughter yoga, and elderly gymnastics. All Stenden NHL students and UNTRIM students also had the opportunity to enjoy the tourism village program that was packaged with UNTRIM students. The results of this project show that; the usefulness of the interaction between foreign students and the local community in the context of learning for school children has a positive impact on developing their international outlook. Cultural learning, social interaction with foreigners, has a positive impact on improving the quality of life for the ELDERLY. Simultaneously teaching and sharing activities with the ELDERLY in the village by NHL Stenden students and UNTRIM students contributed reciprocally to both parties.

Abstract

Digital villages represent a rapidly evolving phenomenon that has become highly significant in the modern era. The Faculty of Engineering at Mataram University has taken proactive steps to address this pressing issue by accelerating the implementation of digital villages in Gumantar Village, North Lombok Regency, with a specific focus on the Lembah Telaga farming group. This community engagement effort is concentrated on two key aspects: the development of internet connectivity infrastructure and the enhancement of internet literacy, particularly in the context of agriculture. The primary objective of this project is to provide much-needed internet access to the community and to equip individuals with the skills necessary to swiftly engage in activities and information exchange. This is particularly crucial in the agricultural sector, which heavily relies on fast and accurate access to information. Remarkably, all participants, including residents and members of the Lembah Telaga farming group who own smartphones, have successfully achieved full proficiency in utilizing the newly installed internet infrastructure. Telkomsel Orbit Star was chosen as the optimal device to meet the unique needs of North Lombok Regency, specifically in Gumantar Village. This infrastructure is expected to become a valuable asset in supporting the digitalization and advancement of the Lembah Telaga farming group in the future. The success of this project is evident in the improved capabilities of the community to access various internet platforms such as YouTube, Google, and Instagram. With the newfound knowledge they have gained, the residents of Gumantar Village now have unlimited internet access through Telkomsel orbital internet device installed at the Lembah Telaga farming group training facility. This significantly facilitates their ability to access agricultural information on the internet, thereby enhancing their potential and prospects in an increasingly digitally connected agricultural landscape.

Abstract

Most of the residents in Keputih have a livelihood as milkfish farmers. Milkfish has the potential to be easily contaminated by microorganisms due to its high water content. Another problem related to milkfish is a large number of thorns in the meat, making it difficult to diversify its derivative products, therefore the Meat and Thorn Separator (MT-Separator) is an innovation to separate meat from thorns. Aim of the study is introduced and applied of MT separator to milkfish product from Ayah Olala's SMEs. Community service activities have been carried out from June to October 2022 which took place at the Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Airlangga University, Surabaya. Processing of milkfish brains is carried out at Keputih Sukolilo, Surabaya. Community service activities begin with assistance to partners starting from the production process, the storage process, to the packaging process. Particularly emphasis on training the operation of the MT-Separator tool. UMKM Ayah Olala is an UMKM that focuses on processing milkfish brains which are located in Keputih Tegal Gang III No. 2, Sukolilo District, Surabaya City. The implementation of this community service begins with analyzing the problems faced by MSMEs such as business capital, production and managerial. The results of the analysis will then be evaluated to determine the output target to solve the problem. In this activity, partners received assistance from an MT-separator machine. Apart from that, partners also understand how to use the MT separator and the importance of using the tool. Based on the implementation of community service activities, it can be concluded that this activity was successful and provided insight regarding the introduction of product diversification of processed milkfish brains and the introduction of the Meat and Thorn Separator tool. More intensive assistance is needed for Ayah Olala's UMKM starting from the production process, business capital assistance, managerial and operational as well as training in the operation of the MT-Separator tool.

Abstract

Vocational School 4 Ternate City is one of the Vocational Schools in Kastela Village which has several expertise program concentrations, one of which is Fisheries Agribusiness. The aim of this community service is to provide knowledge and skills to students of SMKN 4 Ternate in making catfish feed as a provision for entrepreneurship in the school environment and after completing school if they are unable to continue higher education. The method used is discussion or lecture as well as understanding the theory of catfish cultivation and catfish feed management, introduction to feed raw materials and tools used as well as the practice of making catfish feed according to the formulation. Participants consisted of students and teachers at SMKN 4 Ternate City as well as students from the Aquaculture study program. Before carrying out community service activities, the fish feed that is made must be based on formulation calculations, for this reason participants are first given an understanding of feed formulation and other theories before carrying out the practice of making feed so that their understanding of feed formulation technology can be used as a reference for making fish feed. independently. The training activity on the Application of Catfish Feed Formulation Technology which was attended by students of SMKN 4 Ternate, teachers and students of the aquaculture study program can be understood easily. Raw materials are available throughout the year and are relatively easy and cheap to obtain. After this training activity is carried out, it is hoped that there will be continuity for other field activities so that it is hoped that students at SMKN 4 Ternate can continue to be involved in practicum activities and student research so that the knowledge and skills gained during the practicum can be applied at school for entrepreneurial activities for vocational school students and for entrepreneurship after graduating.
