Abstract

Modern organizations face increasing challenges in retaining talented employees as hybrid work becomes the dominant model of the post-pandemic era. While flexibility offers numerous benefits, it also risks weakening shared values and emotional connections that underpin organizational commitment. This study aims to identify the cultural dimensions that most strongly influence talent retention in hybrid work environments, examine possible mediating and moderating mechanisms between culture and retention, and propose culture-based strategies for human resource leaders. Employing a qualitative approach through a systematic literature study, the research synthesizes findings from ten peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025. Thematic analysis reveals that inclusivity, flexibility, employee well-being, collaboration, and organizational commitment are the most influential cultural dimensions driving retention. Furthermore, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and employee well-being serve as mediating factors, while organizational commitment moderates the culture–retention relationship. The results indicate that organizational culture acts as the strategic core of retention in hybrid settings, transforming from a background element into a dynamic ecosystem that binds employees through shared trust, fairness, and psychological safety. The study concludes that culture-driven strategies such as promoting cultural intelligence, flexible policies, and emotional support systems are critical for sustaining loyalty and engagement in hybrid organizations.

Abstract

This study explores how emotional intelligence and perceived organizational support influence job performance among government employees, focusing on the mediating role of job satisfaction. The research targets civil servants at the directorate general of customs and excise in Indonesia, where complex regulatory demands and public service expectations create high pressure. The objective is to examine direct and indirect effects of these factors on performance and satisfaction in a public sector context. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data from 249 respondents through cross-sectional surveys. Analysis employed partial least squares structural equation modeling with SmartPLS 4 software, applying bootstrapping and blindfolding procedures. Results show that emotional intelligence positively affects both job satisfaction and job performance directly. Perceived organizational support significantly improves job satisfaction but has no direct impact on job performance. Job satisfaction positively influences job performance and mediates the relationships between emotional intelligence, perceived organizational support, and job performance. These findings highlight job satisfaction as a key psychological mechanism linking individual and organizational factors to better employee outcomes in public institutions.

Abstract

Gamification, the use of game design elements in non-game contexts, has gained significant attention for enhancing motivation, engagement, and behavioral change across various fields. This study aims to examine the current state of gamification research, focusing on its applications, trends, and gaps in education, health, finance, and marketing. The research employs a quantitative approach, using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyzes method and VOSviewer software to analyze 34 studies from the Scopus database, spanning 2015 to 2024. Gamification effectively boosts user engagement by incorporating elements like points, badges, and challenges in diverse domains. In education, it improves learning outcomes through interactive technologies. In health, it promotes adherence to wellness goals, while in finance, it encourages financial literacy. In marketing, gamification fosters eco-friendly behaviors and customer loyalty. The findings reveal a steady increase in publications, from 1,582 in 2015 to 11,949 in 2024, with key contributions from the United States and China. However, gaps remain in understanding long-term impacts and personalized strategies. This review concludes that gamification is a powerful tool for driving engagement, but further empirical research is needed to validate its long-term effectiveness and adaptability across diverse user groups. Abstract

This study investigates strategies for improving the quality of learning in Islamic boarding schools through effective Islamic education management, innovative curriculum development, and comprehensive teacher professional development. Islamic boarding schools have long served as vital institutions in nurturing students’ moral, spiritual, and intellectual character, yet many continue to face challenges related to traditional management systems, rigid curricula, and limited teacher training opportunities. The purpose of this research is to identify adaptive management and pedagogical strategies that can align Islamic boarding schools’ education with contemporary educational standards while maintaining core Islamic values. Employing a qualitative library research design, this study analyzes scholarly literature, academic journals, and policy reports using content analysis techniques to uncover theoretical insights and best practices in Islamic education management. The findings reveal that enhancing learning quality in Islamic boarding schools requires modernization of management systems, integration of religious and general knowledge in the curriculum, and sustained investment in teacher capacity-building. Effective leadership, curriculum innovation, and continuous professional development collectively foster a dynamic and high-quality learning environment. The study concludes that the integration of modern educational approaches with Islamic principles is essential for strengthening Islamic boarding schools’ institutional performance, improving student learning outcomes, and ensuring their continued relevance in the modern educational landscape.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of hospital brand image, Sharia service standards, and psychospiritual factors on patient loyalty in Sharia hospitals. Sharia hospitals in Indonesia are growing amid demand for Islam-aligned healthcare. Revenue and patients rise yearly but miss targets: 12-15 percent growth versus 20 percent goal, and 5-7 percent versus 15 percent. This signals loyalty issues involving brand image, Sharia quality, religiosity, trust, attitudes, and satisfaction. The aim is to analyze their interactions. Quantitative surveys with purposive sampling target patients from the past three years. Structural Equation Modeling analyzes 315 responses. Results reveal brand image drives Sharia standards; religiosity and trust form attitudes; standards and attitudes build satisfaction, the top loyalty predictor. Direct paths are significant; satisfaction variance is 53.1 percent, and loyalty 34.8 percent, via mediation. Improving brand and Sharia elements raises satisfaction and loyalty for growth targets. Prioritize digital marketing and spiritual care for retention.

Abstract

The increasing volume of plastic waste has intensified environmental challenges globally, particularly in Indonesia, the second-largest contributor to marine plastic pollution. This study aims to analyze the implementation of circular economy principles in a multinational company committed to environmental sustainability, focusing on plastic waste management. A qualitative descriptive case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with sustainability managers, waste bank coordinators, MSMEs, and Environmental Agency officials, complemented by secondary sources including the 2024 Sustainability Report. Findings indicate that Unilever operationalizes circular economy through three key strategies: reduce, reuse, and recycle. The reduce strategy involves eco-friendly packaging innovations; the reuse strategy is implemented via the u-refill station program, promoting refill-based consumption; and the recycle strategy leverages a network of over 4,000 waste banks and advanced recycling technologies like CreaSolv®, managing over 90,000 tons of plastic by 2024. Successful implementation is influenced by economic, technological, social, regulatory, and collaborative factors, while challenges include infrastructure limitations, fluctuating recycled plastic prices, and low public awareness. The study highlights that circular economy is both a technical and social process, requiring multi-stakeholder engagement and systemic policy support to achieve sustainable circularity at scale.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of business environments driven by digital transformation and sustainability challenges has heightened the importance of understanding how management control systems and alliance strategies jointly influence innovation capacity and business performance. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a systematic literature review and synthesize recent research on the interrelationship between management control systems, alliance strategies, innovation, and firm performance to identify emerging themes, research gaps, and theoretical contributions. Using the PRISMA approach, 22 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected from the Scopus, Web of Science, and DOAJ databases and analyzed for conceptual and methodological insights. The findings reveal that management control systems and alliance strategies play a significant role in enhancing innovation capability and improving business performance, while digitalization and sustainability emerge as crucial contextual determinants. However, existing studies have yet to fully explain how these constructs dynamically interact within technology-driven and uncertain environments to support sustainable innovation. Based on this synthesis, the study proposes a conceptual model integrating management control systems and alliance strategies to achieve superior innovation and performance outcomes and suggests that future research employ longitudinal and cross-industry designs to validate and extend the proposed framework.

Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of environmental management practices in the relationship between green finance, renewable energy adoption, and business sustainability among small and medium enterprises in Indonesia. The objectives are to assess the direct effects of green finance and renewable energy on business sustainability and to determine whether environmental management practices strengthen these effects. Data were collected from 200 small and medium enterprise respondents using a structured questionnaire. The green finance measurement instrument provides a validated framework specifically designed for small and medium enterprises. The results show that both green finance and renewable energy have significant positive effects on business sustainability. These effects become stronger when mediated by environmental management practices, including formal environmental policies, resource efficiency initiatives, and pollution control measures. Among the three dimensions of green finance, economic, environmental, and social, the economic dimension has the greatest impact, highlighting the importance of cost efficiency, green profitability, and return-oriented investments. The findings suggest that aligning financial and energy strategies with environmental management practices can lead to more meaningful and sustainable improvements in business performance.

Abstract

In today’s increasingly complex and fiercely competitive industrial world, logistics is said to be able to provide greater value to companies. Logistics activities are seen as an extension of production activities, which are a solution for companies to reap more profits. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the decline in turnover in the mid-mile enterprise fulfillment division based on the business model canvas and to determine how the internal control system works in the mid-mile enterprise fulfillment division. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to describe a company’s business model based on business model canvas theory and analyze internal control. In this study, data collection techniques include interviews, observations, documentation, and triangulation. The interview results will be processed using data triangulation techniques in accordance with the nine elements of the business model canvas. The results of the study indicate that the determination of shipping prices, which should be calculated based on shipping distance and tonnage, will affect the decline in turnover in the mid-mile enterprise fulfillment division. The nine elements of the business model canvas are examined to identify factors contributing to the decline in turnover.
