Abstract

This study examines the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing risk-based decision-making across multiple sectors. The rapid adoption of AI has transformed organizational approaches from reactive to proactive risk management; however, gaps remain in governance, ethical readiness, and real-world implementation. Therefore, this study aims to systematically review the application of AI, identify its benefits and challenges, and analyze the relationship between AI capabilities, risk management processes, and decision outcomes. This research employs a systematic review method guided by the PRISMA framework, analyzing recent literature published between 2023 and 2025 from major academic databases. The findings indicate that AI significantly improves predictive accuracy, operational efficiency, and decision quality through advanced data processing techniques such as machine learning and deep learning. AI applications are widely observed in healthcare, finance, and environmental risk management, demonstrating strong performance in prediction and analysis. However, challenges related to data quality, model transparency, ethical risks, and governance limitations persist. This study concludes that AI should be implemented as a socio-technical system supported by robust governance frameworks and human oversight to ensure responsible, transparent, and sustainable risk-based decision-making.

Abstract

Digital entrepreneurship is becoming an attractive career for international students, yet empirical research on their entrepreneurial intentions in higher education remains limited. This study investigates the role of global mindset, digital skills, and institutional support in shaping the digital entrepreneurial intention of international students. This study uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, in which quantitative data is first collected through a survey of international students and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Subsequently, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed thematically to provide deeper insights into the quantitative findings. The results show that global mindset, digital skills, and institutional support have a positive and significant effect on digital entrepreneurship intention, with digital skills emerging as the strongest predictor. Further qualitative findings indicate that digital skills enhance students’ entrepreneurial self-confidence, while global mindset supports the recognition of opportunities in international markets. Institutional support is considered beneficial, although its effectiveness depends on how well it meets the specific needs of international students. These findings emphasise the importance of integrating individual competencies with institutional support in promoting digital entrepreneurship among international students.

Abstract

Human resources quality and job engagement are crucial to support high-pressure immigration services and ensure optimal, accountable public service delivery. This study examines whether environmentally ergonomic-based facility management and organizational culture influence job engagement among immigration office civil servants in the East Kalimantan-North Kalimantan region, and whether these effects operate through perceived quality of work life. Survey data from 397 civil servants were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling with bootstrapping to estimate both direct and mediated relationships among the constructs. The results show that environmentally ergonomic-based facility management and organizational culture significantly improve the quality of work life, while neither variable has a significant direct effect on job engagement. Quality of work life exerts a strong positive effect on job engagement and fully transmits the effects of both workplace factors to engagement, indicating that improvements in engagement occur primarily when employees experience safer and healthier conditions, stronger development opportunities, and better work-life balance. The study discusses these patterns as evidence that public sector engagement initiatives are most effective when ergonomic and cultural interventions are integrated with programs that explicitly strengthen employees’ quality of work life.

Abstract

The rapid diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) across organizational functions has shifted strategic attention from mere technological adoption toward the development of human-centered capabilities. Strategic capability is operationalized through organizational responsiveness and strategic alignment in leveraging AI. Data were collected from 350 employees working in AI-adopting organizations in Indonesia and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The measurement model demonstrates satisfactory reliability and validity. Structural model results indicate that artificial intelligence literacy has a significant positive effect on employee agility (β = 0.62, p < 0.001), and employee agility significantly enhances strategic capability (β = 0.67, p < 0.001). Mediation analysis confirms a significant indirect effect of artificial intelligence literacy on strategic capability through employee agility (β = 0.41, p < 0.001), with a variance accounted for (VAF) of 66 percent, indicating partial mediation. These findings suggest that artificial intelligence literacy alone is insufficient to generate strategic advantage unless activated through agile employee behavior. The study contributes theoretically by identifying employee agility as a key microfoundation linking AI literacy to strategic capability. Practically, the results highlight the importance of integrating AI literacy development with agility-oriented human resource practices to support sustainable competitiveness, aligning with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).   Keywords: Artificial intelligence literacy, employee agility, strategic capability, PLS-SEM

Abstract

Employee performance has become a critical concern for organizations seeking to maintain competitiveness and achieve sustainable operational outcomes. In this context, organizational support, workplace conditions, and internal employee factors play an important role in shaping motivation and performance levels within organizations. This research aimed to describe the determination of organizational culture, employee competency, employee commitment, work environment, employee work motivation, organizational support, and employee work performance through employee work motivation as an intervening variable and organizational support as a moderating variable. This research used a questionnaire from 220 respondents. Data analytics will be using SEM-PLS. The results indicate that organizational culture, employee competence, work environment, and work motivation significantly influence employee performance, while employee commitment affects performance indirectly through work motivation. Organizational culture and competence improve performance directly but do not significantly enhance motivation, whereas the work environment strengthens performance both directly and through motivation. Additionally, organizational support contributes directly to employee performance but does not moderate the relationship between motivation and performance. These findings imply that organizations should prioritize strengthening workplace conditions, developing employee competencies, and maintaining supportive organizational practices to improve performance outcomes effectively.

Abstract

Effective communication is a critical component of healthcare services, as it enhances patient understanding and shapes perceptions of care quality. Laboratory departments, as medical support units, interact directly with patients, particularly during the pre-analytical phase, making the quality of laboratory staff communication essential. This study aims to examine the effect of laboratory staff communication, represented by clarity and empathy, on patient perception of care, with patient understanding of laboratory procedure as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data were collected from 251 patients who received laboratory services at a Type C public hospital in Indonesia and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that empathy has a positive and significant effect on patient understanding of laboratory procedure, whereas clarity does not show a significant effect. Furthermore, clarity, empathy, and patient understanding of laboratory procedures significantly influence patient perception of care. These findings highlight that empathetic communication plays a key role in improving patient understanding, while communication clarity strengthens positive perceptions of laboratory service quality. This study provides practical implications for hospital management to enhance laboratory staff communication competencies as part of quality improvement strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the nexus between human resource digitalization and sustainable performance, specifically examining how organizational learning capability functions as a vital intermediary. Adopting a quantitative methodology, empirical evidence was gathered from a sample of 300 employees and rigorously analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The empirical results demonstrate that the digital transformation of HR functions exerts a profound and positive influence on both the capacity for organizational learning and the attainment of long-term sustainable performance. The findings suggest that digital HR frameworks do more than just streamline administrative tasks, it cultivates an environment conducive to knowledge acquisition, adaptability, and strategic agility in the face of ecological and market shifts. Furthermore, the analysis identifies organizational learning capability as a significant partial mediator, implying that the impact of digital tools on sustainability is most potent when the organization can effectively translate technological resources into collective wisdom. By bridging digital HRM literature with organizational learning theory, this research offers critical insights for practitioners aiming to harmonize digital investments with a culture of continuous improvement to secure an enduring competitive advantage.

Abstract

The period of 2020–2025 has been characterized by unprecedented global economic instability, placing the manufacturing sector under severe structural pressure and necessitating a comprehensive understanding of corporate resilience mechanisms. This study aims to investigate the integrative influence of corporate risk management and financial flexibility on the resilience of manufacturing firms in Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative causal-explanatory design to examine the relationships between corporate risk management, financial flexibility, and firm resilience in manufacturing firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2020–2025. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that corporate risk management and financial flexibility both have significant positive effects on firm resilience, while the relationship between corporate risk management and financial flexibility is not significant. These results imply that firms can strengthen resilience through effective risk management practices and strong financial flexibility independently, highlighting the importance of developing both strategies separately to enhance organizational stability during periods of economic uncertainty.
