Abstract

Implementation of Fish-finder and Fish dryer for Fishermen in Malabero Teluk Segara Bengkulu City aims to apply appropriate technology. After all, this activity is expected to increase the efficiency and quality of dried fish as well as more catch and decreasing operational cost. Community service activity is implemented by training method. Through this activity we have produced the product of fish dryers and guidance of fish-finder use to determine fish position. Fish dryers amounted to 2 pieces of iron with each dimension of the same height 1.5 m long 1.8 m and width of 0.8 m. One tool has 3 (three) drying racks with a total wide of 3.84 m2 with a tool capacity of approximately 20 kg of wet fish. The maximum temperature in the dryer room reaches 60°C, and the time taken to dry the wet fish at a maximum temperature is about 8 hours. Keywords: fish-finder, fish dryer, efficiency, quality

Abstract

The Canteen is a facility that is often visited by many people, therefore the canteen cleanliness and health need attention. Especially The canteen in places such as education providers. Whatever is served by canteen will be consumed by campus residents and become a daily habit to consume it. Contamination that occurs in the canteen will endanger campus residents, and if consumed by many people will cause many victims. This will certainly endanger the health of campus residents, especially students and employees. Food handler’s personal hygiene and completeness of APD are closely related to food contamination. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a healthy canteen, one of which is by providing education about personal hygiene and the importance of using APD when food is personalized. This activity is a community service of the Nutrition Study Program Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes)Esa Unggul University. The purpose of this activity is to create a healthy and pollution free canteen Esa Unggul University. All food handlers canteen attended and participated in this activity well. Activities like this are important to carry out to cultivate a healthy canteen in an educational environment such as a campus.

Abstract

Malabero in Teluk Segara Bengkulu City is one of the villages mostly located in the coastal area and facing directly to beach or ocean. Most of the people work as fishermen who depend on their catch in the sea. This is quite a concern for the academics in seeing a phenomenon where there are still problems and opportunities that can be developed and at this time has not been developed by the fishing community. The problems and opportunities are the quality of products produced through the economic activities of the community in the form of fishery products. It can be happen and can’t be separated from human resource problem that exist in coastal area in managing natural potency and manage effort properly. To provide solutions to these problems it is important for students as intellectual generation to implement creative economic empowerment for the community, especially housewives in Malabero Village.Activities undertaken in this activity are the provision of new business groups and institutional strengthening for target communities, providing training in the scope of entrepreneurship in the field of fishery processing, packaging training in accordance with standards for products in the area. The implementation of this activity for the community benefit consists of knowledge development, management and of course in utilizing the existing resources in the coastal region as a potential economic sector in a sustainable.Keywords: empowerment, housewives of fishermen, coastal areas

Abstract

The training and introduction of MAPLE is aimed to improving SMA Negeri 8 Kota Bengkulu students' logic and analysis ability to solve math problems. The steps taken are to prepare syllabus and MAPLE training material module that can be used as reference in the implementation of coaching, then carry out training for one month. From the pre-test and post-test results it can be concluded that there is a significant difference from the learning result before and after knowing and using MAPLE. The average post-test score is much greater when compared with the student's pre-test score. Paired sample testing gives a t-value of 24,079 with p-value 0.000. It can be concluded that the average pre-test and post-test values are significantly different. This means that the introduction and training of MAPLE in SMA Negeri 8 gives a real influence on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Keywords: MAPLE Training, Mathematics

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dikarenakan sering terjadi kelangkaan gas sehingga harga gas menjadi tinggi. Kelangkaan dan tingginya harga gas menyebabkan masyarakat kembali beralih ke kayu untuk keperluan memasak sehari-hari. Sementara Kelonpok Tani Karya Bersama mempunyai potensi yang besar berupa limbah kotoran sapi yang dapat digunakan sebagai penghasil biogás. Biogas dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memasak sehari-hari. Pemanfaatan kotoran sapi menjadi biogás belum dilakukan karena tidak ada sumber daya manusia yang mampu mengolah kotoran sapi tersebut. Untuk itu, dilakukan pelatihan embuatan dan pengoperasian instalasi biogás sistem kontinu pada Kelompok Tani Karya Bersama, RT 15 Kandang Limun, Kota Bengkulu. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada Kelompok Tani ini sebagai contoh bagi masyarakat lainnya. Kelompok tani ini telah berhasil membuat dan mengoperasikan instalasi biogas, sehingga ke depan diharapkan menjadi fasilitator munculnya instalasi-instalasi baru dan masyarakat peternak sapi tidak bergantung lagi pada gas dan minyak tanah. Keywords: Biogas, Instalasi biogás, digester

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan informasi tentang produktivitas buah kelapa yang bermanfaat dan bernilai ekonomi tinggi di Kelompok Tani Desa Pulau Panggung Kabupaten Kaur. Tujuan tersebut dapat dicapai melalui beberapa metode diantaranya ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, praktek langsung serta observasi. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dapat diketahui dari tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan yang ditunjukkan dengan kehadiran sebanyak 25 orang peserta pelatihan. Selain itu, hasil dari kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah telah dibuatnya produk olahan buah kelapa berupa minyak kelapa murni (VCO), nata de coco dan minuman fermentasi air kelapa. Keterampilan peserta dalam pembuatan produk tersebut disampaikan dengan metode praktik langsung dengan bimbingan pemateri. Analisis keuntungan dari pengolahan buah kelapa dilakukan berdasarkan modal (bahan baku) dan produk yang dihasilkan. Prakiraan harga jual produk yang dihasilkan dari olahan 20 butir kelapa adalah nata de coco Rp. 7500 dan VCO sebesar Rp. 600.000. Keunggulan produk yang dibuat adalah dapat meningkatkan keuntungan sebesar Rp. 547.500 (Rp. 607.500 – Rp. 60.000). Beberapa peralatan yang diperbantukan oleh pelaksana kegiatan kepada masyarakat berupa alat pemisah minyak dari emulsi santan kelapa, dan peralatan pembuatan nata de coco.

Abstract

Welding processing is the process to make some part of metal become a unit by using heat. Some application of welding process can be seen at the fence, truss, door, gate and etc.The fence, trellis windows and doors and a gate are made from iroin highly prevalenttoday. The Iron fence, trellis for windows and doors as well as the gate is made anddesigned to make home become beautiful. The fencing, railing, and gating are usingwelding machines to connect and decorate the desired shapes. Expertise in designing andwelding of products are very important to meet the requirement of customers. As seen fromthe shape and style of fences and trellises shows the state of community identity in thearea. Expertise to design and design as well as the use of welding machines can beobtained by the public through formal education in Vocational High School of Engineeringand informal (BLK). In addition to the society through education can not study theprocesses undertaken to make tools or products such as fences, trellises and the gate. It isvery harmful for people who do not have a chance to get a formal education or informal.Through community service, which is part of the Tri Dharma College conducted thetransfer of knowledge to the people who did not get a formal or informal education to practice making these objects with the welding process. With this training adds insight andknowledge society. From the results of this training is seen that people who can not followthe formal and informal education have a high desire to attend this training. Abstract

The people of Pinang Belapis face with the problem of declining soil quality and difficult to purchase anorganic fertilizer because of high prices and uncertain availability. The purposes of this community service are (1) to train the composting of agricultural waste materials to substitute inorganic fertilizer needs with compost and improve the quality of agricultural land by utilizing the results of composting; (2) to apply the compost to sample plots of land; (3) giving extension about the importance of organic/compost for soil and plants. Composting training is given to the boards of farmer groups. Besides composting, counseling about importance of organic fertilizer and compost in improving and maintaining soil fertility and its benefit to plants is also performed. Compost material consisting of a mixture of agricultural wastes and shrubs around the site composting is collected, chopped, and stacked layer by layer, each layer height of 20 cm. Microbes Add-Compost "Promi" is dissolved in water, and sprinkle on each layer and stacks of compacted organic material. Coating and watering is done until the compost runs out in order. Heaps of organic matter plastikagar closed with the humidity up. Compost is observed every week to measure the increase in temperature and decrease in the volume of compost. After 3 weeks, the compost is ready for harvest, as indicated by the shrinking volume of compost to about 50%, the color changes to dark brown, crumbly brittle materials, the smell is not overpowering. Abstract

Community services activity group on empowerment of farmers group in sambirejo trhrouh integrated process of waste to energy alternative and improvement of family income have been done. This activity aims to improve the welfare of the villagers in sambirejo especially members of Amanah Farmer Group and Makmur Jaya Farmer Group through community based integrated waste. In this activity, training of garbage separation of organic and inorganic, making organic fertilizer/compost with Takakura method, making handicrafts from plastic packaging waste and biogas installation which is expected to produce alternative energy to replace LPG and firewood for daily cooking. The implementation of these activities carried out by two methods : (1) counseling and discussion about separating domestic waste, products can be made from waste, and what types of waste can be used, (2) demonstration and practice on how to make compost with Takakura method, and biogas installations on both partners. Through these activities are expected to members of the two groups of farmers, especially the women will be able to sort household waste properly and process the waste into products which has economic value that can create small-scale domestic industry that would be able to contribute to the family and the environment. Keywords: Farmer’s Group, Waste, Takakura, Plastic Pack, Economic Product

Abstract

Food is an ingredient intended as food or beverage derived from biological and water resources, whether processed or unprocessed, including food additives, foodstuffs, and other materials used in the process of preparing, processing and / or making food and drink. To meet the nutritional needs of the family is very necessary for diversification of food consumption. The purposesof this community service is are 1) Providing knowledge and insight on the importance of diversification of household food consumption, 2) training on the manufacture of some processed products from seafood such as fish abon, fish rolade, and tuna meatballs, 3) Training on the manufacture of some processed products from non-marine products such as tubers combined with marine products such as tuber chips that have a taste of shrimp and sea fish can be utilized to meet family food consumption, 4) Training on the manufacture of some processed products from other non-marine products, namely processed foods from tofu and tempeh, 5) Training on packaging techniques and product labeling so that this product can be sold and can increase the fishermen's household acceptance. The targets of this technology are PKK group mothers and young women in RT IV Kelurahan Malabero. The number of trainees is 20 people. From community service activities "Diversification of food consumption of coastal community households in bengkulu city through marine and non marine products processing technology" community, especially housewives and girls in RT. IV Malabero Kota Bengkulu gain additional knowledge and skills about making various products such as tuna shredded fish, tuna meatballs, tuna rolade, tempeh chips, cassava chips, sweet potato chips, satay tofu, and tempe brownees so it can be used in entrepreneurship. Keywords: diversification of household consumption, marine products, Malabero
