Abstract

Indonesia has 2 seasons, rainy season and wet season. Normally, it will be flooding in the rainy season in Bengkulu mosely in Central Bengkulu. Flooding happens every year, and this problem does not have the solution yet and the fread shows the increase in frequency, the areas, the depth and the duration. Central Bengkulu has bad drainage. No bad condition of the road, its dishersing the activity of the society. It is imposible to wait for the action from the government to overcome this situation. Abstract

Petroleum scarcity has been a yearly problem facing Indonesian society during the last three decades. The program aimed at helping Indonesian society fulfilling their daily needs of energy by creating biogas as a renewable source of energy. In doing so, we employed a demonstrative method. The research flows are follows: 1) providing all the requirements needed ( 50 Kg of wet cow manure, yeast, pipes, faucets, hose, and gas stove respectively); 2) providing an instruction of the importances of biogas for daily life and the procedures of creating biogas for 50 participants in Amun Kay and Hidup Baru village ; 3) practicing directly of biogas production;  4) asking the participants to practicing for their own. The findings were: 1) producing biogas as a substitute for kerosene as much 4,16 m3(2.6 L kerosene) could be used as  substitute energy of kerosene for cooking for 3-4 days for 4-5 people; 2) producing 15 Kg dry organic fertilizer.

Abstract

This public service aims to disseminate activity in writing scientific articles to develop the theoretical scientific capacities, to train skill of science teachers for popular sciencewriting in an efficient and effective way to gain recognition as a professional teacher (c)The creation of a post made by a teacher who can be recognized scientifically and beaccountable. The public service is implemented in the Junior High School 15, City ofBengkulu. Participants consist of all teachers of Mathematics and Science, the principaland all vice principals. The method forms of this public service are (1) Dissemination ofarticle writing (technical writing scientific articles, non-research article writing, articlewriting national, international article writing), (2) Training in writing research article.The result shows that the teachers begin to understand and know how to write a researcharticle, and able to make the article from the results of studies that have been done.Keyword: teachers, training, mentoring, scientific articles

Abstract

One of the health problems in the elderly are dementia disorder, or better known to laymen as senile. About 5% of 65-70 year old age suffer from dementia and has doubled every 5 years reached 45% at the age of 85 years. The purpose of this activity is to equip doctors of health centers to implement the use of MMSE as a screening tool that is sustainable for the prevention of disorder dementia in the elderly. The methods of these activities by providing direct training to the general practitioners to use the MMSE. Training activities and practice the use of MMSE for clinics doctors in North Bengkulu district has been going smoothly after the expected. It is necessary synergy between health centers, hospitals and health authorities to monitor this activity and follow up on the elderly who experience these dementia. Keywords: Dementia, MMSE, Training

Abstract

Indonesia has culture diversity considered as national asset. But, if culture diversity is not managed well, it will trigger gap, conflict, disunity and violence. Therefore, the attempt to reconstruct four nationality pillars is essential. The goal is to give concept of be-Indonesian as integrative, comprehensive, and also become the foundation to enhance national unity. Four nationality pillars are: Pancasila as national ideology, basic law of 1945 as national constitution, Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) as the form of the country and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as the national motto. The target of this program is students in 3 senior high schools and vocational high school in Bengkulu city. The methods in community service activities are workshops through the provision of material which begins with pre-test activities and ends with post test, FGD, and mentoring. After the activity, the knowledge of the students about the four nationality pillars has increased significantly. From the activities conducted in 2 schools, it is found that the average increase of students' knowledge about the four pillars of nationality increased up to 30.8% and 38.7%. Each school always disseminates knowledge about the four nationality pillars through teaching in each school. The distribution of knowledge about the four nationality pillars is not only done among students, but also for the teachers. The goal is to be able to reconstruct and internalize the four nationality pillars as an effort to strengthen the soul of nationalism and minimize acts of violence that can be a potential for radicalism and national division.  Keywords: Four Nationality Pillars, Nationalism, Student

Abstract

Farm poultry, especially chicken, is a producer of meat and eggs. In addition to producing meat and eggs, chicken farms also have negative impacts, which can cause odorless gasthat can pollute the environment. In the village there are six places Srikaton laying chickenfarms that always make chicken manure every day. Alternative technology that can beapplied and has a positive outlook is to convert poultry farm waste, ie chicken manure intocompost. IBM outer target groups laying chicken farming is to produce compost chickenthat can be utilized by the villagers Srikaton (short-term targets), and the long-term targetis to sell the compost to other consumer good in the village Srikaton, and outside thevillage Srikaton . Effective technology for the transformation of society is using extensionmethods, training by making demonstrations, or direct practice coupled with mentoring.The target of this service is Srikaton village community, which consists of chickenbreeders, youth organization group, the PKK, and residents who do not have a job(unemployed). Based on the activities carried out, the people were very enthusiastic.Through these activities, the village Srikaton has the skills to produce compost chickenmanure that can be used for fertilizer in the garden itself, and or for sale, so as to improvetheir welfare.Keywords: chicken manure, compost

Abstract

Usaha sampingan strategis masyarakat seperti ternak unggas dan ikan telah terbukti mampu menopang perekonomian masyarakat desa dan perkotaan, namun kondisi ini mengalami penurunan dan bahkan cendrung ditinggalkan karena terbatasnya sumber pakan alami serta mahalnya harga pakan dampak dari naiknya nilai tukar rupiah dan perubahan iklim yang ekstrim. Salah satu usaha mengatasi permasalah tersebut adalah dengan introduksi pemanfaatan potensi sumberdaya lokal yaitu biokonversi limbah pertanian milik masyarakat desa melalui program Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM). Kegiatan PPM dilakukan dari bulan Juli ? Agustus 2019 di Desa Lawang Agung, Kecamatan Air Periukan, Kabupaten Seluma yang merupakan desa binaan Jurusan Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Bengkulu. Hasil kegiatan PPM ini telah mampu melatih para petani muda usia 18 ? 45 tahun dalam memanfaatkan sampah loading ramp pabrik kelapa sawit dan limbah batang jagung untuk media budidaya maggot Hermetia. Meskipun paket teknologi PkM telah diketahui oleh 50% peserta sebelum program dimulai, namun tidak satupun peserta yang pernah mencobanya. Daya serap teknologi dan kemampuan praktek peserta sangatlah tinggi yaitu berurutan mencapai 93% dan 100%. Ketertarikan peserta untuk menerapkan usaha mencapai 80%. Masalah gender ditemukan dalam program penerapan iptek ini yaitu peserta wanita kurang tertarik untuk melanjutkan budidaya maggot Hermetia karena bentuknya yang tidak disukai

Abstract

The purpose of the community service activities are society, especially women as housewife, able to diversify its business through the business of making fish balls and fish tekwan which have high economic value. From this extension activity, women are able to increase their family income by doing business at home. Community service activity method is to conduct discussions and question and answer session conducted while delivering the training material. In addition there is a demonstration method of making meatballs and “tekwan”. Berdasarkan training outcomes mother-housewife who became a trainee is able to develop products processed marine fish feed marine fish tekwan the meatballs and marine fish. Keywords: housewife, income, sea fish products

Abstract

SMA Negeri 3 Bengkulu city is one of the active participants in the competition OSN SMA/MA in Bengkulu. But the school's achievements have not been prominent, especially in the field of Mathematics. In the period of last 10 years, SMAN 3 Bengkulu have never gotten quite encouraging achievement in Maths OSN. Department of Mathematics, University of Bengkulu has the human resources pretty promising, that competent teaching staff to improve the ability of reasoning and analysis of students SMA Negeri 3 Bengkulu City through guidance materials OSN Mathematics SMA/MA. Therefore, it will be held activities in the promotion of students regarding the material OSN Mathematics SMA/MA to improve the ability of reasoning and analysis of students so that they know how concepts and strategies work on the problems OSN Mathematics SMA/MA with reasoning and analysis are correct, so as to achievement on activities OSN Mathematics both at the provincial and national levels. After coaching is done, using paired t-test analysis can be concluded that these activities have a significant influence. Development activities that have been implemented can increase the ability of reasoning and analysis of the students as well as students of SMAN 3 of Bengkulu in adding knowledge on mathematics material and questions in SMA/MA OSN. Keywords: OSN Mathematics, SMAN 3 Bengkulu, Paired t-test

Abstract

The cultivation of mushroom in Nisam Subdistrict is constrained by several factors, such as the limited ability of biotechnology breeding and cultivation, marketing and capital. After harvesting, planting media left without any further processing. Moreover, partner farmers has obstacles in terms of marketing and capital limitations for business development. Mushroom cultivation activity was doing by a farmer group "Jamur Nismara" and a farmer group "Tani Jamur" had to stop since the end of 2014 as a consequence. Activities devotion aims to revive the activities of mushroom cultivation that has been there with the technique of better management. The goal to be achieved is a group of reliable and independent farmers. Therefore, the farmers should have knowledge and skills about biotechnology of mushroom cultivation starting from breeding, making the ideal kumbung, correct the cultivation process and processing of planting media waste into compost fertilizer which have an economic value. Farmers must have the ability to access information, especially related to marketing. The methods used are counselling and direct implementation / practice by involving all group members. The results are farmers have kumbung and cultivation ability, marketing, and processing waste media. In addition, farmers also have knowledge about nursery technology. Keywords: mushroom, biotechnology, cultivation, waste media planting
