Abstract

An alternative solution that answers the problem of fossil energy is the use of renewable energy. Hydropower is one of the renewable energies that is widely used in the world. One kind of turbines that is suitable for application in low head conditions is the Archimedes Screw Turbine. This research aims to test the performance of Archimedes screw turbines on several heads, namely 300 mm, 500 mm and 700 mm heads. The number of blade in this turbine is one. The method used is experimentation, which is carried out in the laboratory on a designed testing installation. In this experiment, the highest power obtained at a 700 mm head was 6,407 Watts and the greatest efficiency was 26.59% at a 500 mm head variation. This shows that the performance of a turbine depends on its operating conditions.

Abstract

An important activity in a production process is material handling. One of the activities carried out at PT. Workers often complain of pain in the upper arms and shoulders. Therefore, an analysis of the Weight Limit and Lifting Index recommendations was carried out to determine the maximum weight that can be carried by workers. The calculation results show that the weight of the load lifted exceeds the recommended fattening limit because the LI value is> 1 and with a maximum RWL weight of 10.90 kg, so the worker's activities are at risk of spinal damage. Based on discussions with the company, material handling equipment in the form of a trolley is required. The dimensions of the proposed trolley are that the width of the trolley base is 35 cm; (b) The length of the trolley base is 80 cm; (c) The height of the trolley is 54.47 cm; (d) Trolley handle width 35.19 cm; (e) The height of the trolley handle is 95.16 cm

Abstract

Inalcafa jacket products have three types of variations, including for men, women and children. In this study, researchers tried to predict the number of requests for inalcafa jackets in men's product variations over the next six months. By forecasting the number of requests for Inalcafa jackets, it can provide information on the number of requests for Inalcafa jackets in men's product variations in the next period. The forecasting methods that we calculate include the Double Moving Average method. After the researcher carried out forecasting calculations using the double moving average method, the researcher then determined the upper class limit, middle value and lower class limit based on sales data from the previous 24 months. Finally, the researcher carried out a Moving Range calculation to show the comparison of actual data values with forecasted values. After the researchers carried out forecasting calculations using the double moving average method, an error value of 6.77% was obtained. The predicted production numbers for the next 6 months have an average of 34.67 men's jacket variations produced.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country, however, every year there is a reduction in forest area by 0.5% of the land area. This condition is the cause of flood disasters and high rainfall causes water to quickly fill the dam. From the existing problems it is necessary to make modifications as an effective means of evacuation. In this research we used the Reserch and Development (R&D) method by modifying between ships and land vehicles. The innovation carried out is the Multi Amphibian Boat. The results of the research are in the form of a conceptual design as an illustration for 1:1 manufacturing planning. The main size of the design is 3 m long; 1.2 m wide; 1.1 m high; and 0.5 m deep. The size selection is done to ensure that this facility can be used in small alleys so as to facilitate and speed up the evacuation of floods if they occur in urban areas or densely populated areas.

Abstract

PT. KAS or known as PT. Karunia AIam Segar is one of the F&B companies that produces products in the form of instant noodles. In the production process, PT. KAS has several divisions to process raw materials into the final product, namely instant noodles which have been packaged and given additional spices according to the type of taste. Of the many processes that go through, this company's final product results in defective products such as pieces of noodles, crushed spices, squashed noodles, cuts, temperature and/or joints, misprinted expiry dates, and seasoning oil leaking in the packaging. From the problems obtained, the author carried out research using the Six Sigma and FMEA methods with the aim of minimizing the number of variations in product defects. Based on the results of data processing on fried instant noodle packaging defects, it has a six sigma value of 4.96. Meanwhile, the highest RPN value for temperature and/or connections due to human factors (man) was 504, and the highest RPN value for oil leaks in packaging due to human factors (man) was 567.

Abstract

PT ISM Tbk. Divisi Bogasari merupakan perusahaan manufaktur makanan yang memproduksi tepung terigu. Salah satu proses produksi perusahaan tersebut yaitu packaging tepung terigu 25 Kg. Dalam proses packaging yang dilakukan terdapat 4 CTQ (Critical To Quality) diantaranya yaitu kondisi label, kondisi jahit, keadaan metal detector, dan berat timbang. Selama periode Agustus-November 2023 proporsi kecacatan produk sebesar 4.01% yang artinya melebihi standar maksimal kecacatan perusahaan sebesar 2.5%. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengurangi kecacatan produksi dengan metode six sigma serta mengetahui solusinya dengan prioritas tindak perbaikan yang dilakukan dengan metode FMEA. Hasil analisis diketahui nilai sigma pada proses packaging sebesar 3.84, cacat jahit merupakan jenis kecacatan yang mendominasi dengan persentase cacat sebesar 52.8%. Faktor utama yang menyebabkan yaitu kelelahan pekerja. Solusi tindak perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu penyesuaian area kerja agar tidak panas dan bising, melakukan training dan pendampingan bagi operator baru, penyesuian job desk kerja, dan penyesuaian fasilitas kerja selama overtime.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) method in determining the category of recipients of direct cash assistance in Ketowan village, Arjasa district, Situbondo regency. From the data set consisting of 50 entries, 34 entries were deemed eligible for assistance, while 16 other entries were deemed unfit. Researchers used six criteria to assess eligibility for receiving assistance, including housing conditions, income, employment, number of dependents, recent education, and status. The process of implementing the KNN method resulted in the parameter value K=5, with 38 data considered feasible and 12 data considered ineligible. This method is expected to help decision making in the allocation of village funds to minimize data errors and improve the effectiveness of social assistance programs at the village level.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of various machine learning (ML) models in predicting the onset of diabetes, emphasizing the superior performance of hybrid models over single learner models. Employing a dataset comprising 10,000 individuals with features like Glucose level, BMI, Insulin, and more, we meticulously processed and engineered the data to optimize it for ML applications. We developed several models, including Decision Trees, Random Forest, KNN, and XGBoost, and then advanced to hybrid models using ensemble techniques like stacking and soft voting classifiers. Our findings indicate that hybrid models significantly outperform single learner models. These models achieved remarkable accuracy (98.11%), precision (97.31%), and ROC AUC (99.82%), highlighting their potential in clinical settings. The study underscores the value of hybrid ML models in enhancing predictive accuracy and reliability in diabetes diagnostics.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of various machine learning models to predict diabetes. The research evaluates and compares the predictive performance of advanced ensemble techniques Extra Trees Classifier and LightGBM with traditional machine learning algorithms and simpler deep neural network (DNN) architectures. The dataset comprises numerous features pertinent to diabetes diagnosis, such as glucose concentration, BMI, and insulin levels, among others. A methodology, including polynomial feature transformation and ten-fold cross-validation, was employed to ensure the study's reliability and the models' capability to generalize. The advanced ensemble models, Extra Trees and LightGBM, achieved stellar predictive metrics, with the former attaining a near-perfect ROC AUC, accuracy, precision, and an F1 score close to 1. LightGBM followed closely, demonstrating the high efficacy of ensemble methods in complex data settings. These results were contrasted with significantly lower performance metrics from DNNs and respectable, albeit lower, scores from traditional models like Decision Trees, Random Forest, KNN, and XGBoost.

Abstract

Distro Sextor is an SME industry in the clothing and fashion sector which is experiencing a decline in sales due to the influence of the regional economic slowdown and the impact of the pandemic. Therefore, a strategy is needed to increase sales based on information technology. The use of data mining with clustering and association rule techniques can help increase sales by finding patterns related to sales transactions. This analysis uses the K-Means algorithm for clustering and produces 5 clusters, namely clusters 0,1,2,3,4. The cluster chosen is cluster 0 which has the highest number of transactions with product categories that are cheaper and the types of products that are most frequently sold are t-shirts, shorts, trousers, and others. This analysis is continued with the association rule technique which uses an a priori algorithm to determine the relationship between products in transactions. The results of this analysis show 5 rules and 7 products that can be recommended as promotional media, namely SE130, SE111, SE128, SE126, SE04, SE40, and SE11.
