Abstract

The Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework is pivotal in educational settings, designed to enhance student outcomes through structured support systems that address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. This scoping review explores the complexities of implementing MTSS, identifies effective strategies, and assesses its impact on students' social-emotional development. The review analyzed articles source from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect as a database with a range of publications between 2019-2023 using the keywords: Adolescents, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Education and adolescents. There were 18 articles that met the inclusion criteria. The findings suggest that when effectively implemented, MTSS significantly improves social-emotional development. This involves strategic planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, culturally responsive practices, and active participation of families and communities. School leadership plays a vital role in coordinating these efforts, while culturally relevant practices and teacher self-assessment tools help address the diverse needs of students. Additionally, family involvement is a crucial factor in enhancing academic performance and reducing behavioral issues, contributing to the overall social-emotional development of students. A well-coordinated strategy is necessary to optimize the effectiveness of MTSS and improve student outcomes.

Abstract

The resignation of nurses is a loss for hospitals because they have to recruit new nurses accompanied by orientation towards them. Of course, the newly recruited nurses cannot provide optimal performance because they still need an adjustment period. Many factors cause nurse resignations, both internal and external to the hospital.  carry out a qualitative analysis of the factors that cause a nurse to decide to resign so that preventive measures can be taken. The research was conducted qualitatively by interviewing 15 informant who decided to resign from RSU Sembiring during the period November and December 2023. The interview results were analyzed using a thematic analysis model to produce themes which were factors causing nurse resignation. There are five themes found in the research which are the causes of nurses' resignation, namely: taking care of children, following their husband, continuing their education, getting another job and incompatibility with co-workers. There are 2 causes of nurse resignation, namely internal and external factors of the nurse. Internal factors are caused by the obligations that nurses must carry out in the form of: looking after children and accompanying their husbands, and the opportunity to continue education. Meanwhile, external factors are related to the hospital institution, namely incompatibility with colleagues and the environment in the form of job offers from other hospitals. Efforts to improve the welfare of nurses in the form of: increasing salaries, providing child care, opportunities to continue their education and holding family gatherings need to be carried out by hospital management.

Abstract

Research on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) is often conducted at hospitals rather than Public Health Center (PHC) whereas it role as a first response facility for the community has an inherent contribution to prevention efforts at the family level, becoming the research gap requiring special attention to this issue. The difference to other previous research is that this study was conducted online, while the previous one in Pesantren II PHC, Kediri, used IPC face-to-face training. Predicting the potential for a more practical and efficient IPC method, this study aimed to determine the effect of IPC online compared to IPC face-to-face training on knowledge, attitudes, and practice. This study was a quasi-experiment with two group pretest-posttest designs. The sample was 102 people, using Total Sampling Techniques divided into IPC online training and IPC face-to-face training groups. Knowledge and attitude were assessed using questionnaires developed by reviewing relevant literature and adapting the content from related studies, while practice was assessed using observation sheets. The data were analyzed with the McNemar test that showed the effects of knowledge, attitude, and practices not only in IPC face-to-face training (P=0,000; 0,002; and 0,000) but also in online training (P=0,008; 0,016; and 0,000), and affect COVID-19 knowledge (P=0,000), but it does not affect the COVID-19 attitude (P=1,000). The results showed an increase in knowledge, attitudes and practice respondents after IPC online training and has the same effectiveness as IPC face-to-face training.

Abstract

According to BNBP data (2022), Indonesia experienced 3,544 disasters consisting of 1,531 floods, 1,068 extreme weather events, 634 landslides, 252 forest and land fires, 28 earthquakes, 26 extreme waves and abrasion, 4 droughts, and 1 volcanic eruption. A total of 6,144,324 people suffered and were displaced, 861 people died, 46 people were missing, and 8,727 people were injured as a result of the disaster in 2022. The purpose of this study is an application that simplifies the reporting system process using the maternal and neonatal emergency response application. The problem analysis process in this study uses a fishbone diagram to identify problems and system design using UML diagrams consisting of use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams. The results of this study make it easier for the public to get information about disaster-prone areas and disaster reporting. In addition to the community side, this application is useful for health workers and regional disaster management agencies in the process of reporting activities while in the field. This application is tested using the black box testing method.
