Abstract

Background : Agricultural workers are often overlooked, facing health risks such as pesticide exposure, poor dietary choices, and limited physical activity, which increase their vulnerability to chronic diseases. Psychosocial factors, including stress from uncertain crop yields and adverse weather, also contribute to mental health issues like anxiety and depression. This complex health landscape necessitates effective healthcare approaches that integrate traditional and contemporary systems to address both physical and mental health challenges. Aim: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Agronursing Model, which combines agronomy and nursing principles, in improving healthy lifestyle adherence among agricultural workers, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being. Method: An experimental quantitative method was employed, utilizing a descriptive analysis and survey approach to assess a Healthy Lifestyle Education intervention among 250 farmers in the Sukodono Health Center Working area, Lumajang Regency. Respondents were recruited through probability sampling, with data collected via questionnaires and observation sheets focusing on healthy lifestyle compliance. Results: The intervention resulted in notable improvements in activity patterns, dietary habits, and rest quality, demonstrating its positive impact. Enhancements included increased physical activity, better dietary adherence, reduced fatigue, and decreased financial anxiety and work-related stress.

Abstract

PSA is a serine protease that functions to break down and liquefy semen clots that form after ejaculation. PSA is a product of the prostatic epithelium and is normally secreted in semen. The PSA test is usually used to diagnose prostate cancer, but it has a number of limitations. PSA can be increased in conditions of prostate gland disease, both benign and malignant. This is because PSA is specific for certain organs but is not specific only for cancer. This study aims to determine the profile of PSA in prostate disease at Hasan Sadikin Bandung General Hospital. This study involved 375 patients and is a retrospective descriptive study by taking medical record data from patients with prostate disease who went to the Urology Polyclinic during the period January-December 2019. The results of the study were processed with descriptive statistics and then presented in the form of tables and explanatory narratives. Based on the results of the study, patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) had a mean PSA value of 8.05 + 32.31 ng/ml, prostate cancer patients had a mean PSA value of 188.75 + 344.67 ng/ml and in prostatitis patients had the average PSA value is 2.1 + 0.76. There are differences in PSA values in patients with BPH, prostate carcinoma, and prostatitis.

Abstract

One indicator of the quality of service to patients is patient safety, where hospitals have an obligation to create a system that reduces or even prevents incidents that threaten patient safety. Surgical safety checklist or abbreviated as SSC is a patient safety procedure in the form of a checklist created by WHO as the basis for the actions carried out by the surgical team in the operating room. The aim of this research is to analyze the factors that influence nurses' compliance in implementing the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research that uses a correlational design. The method used in this research is a cross sectional approach. In this study, the population was 25 nursing staff who worked at the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia. Sampling in this research was carried out using a non-probability sampling technique with a total sampling approach, which refers to sampling by taking all members of the population as samples, namely 25 respondents. The data analysis used is univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The research results show that there is an influence of knowledge, work stress and workload on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of the Indonesian Workers' Imelda Hospital. There is no effect of length of work on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia. The independent variable in this study that has the most influence on compliance with the implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in the Central Surgical Installation (IBS) of RSU Imelda Workers Indonesia is the workload variable (X3).

Abstract

Disturbed mental health among students had a very strong negative impact on physical health, interpersonal communication, and academic ability. Mental health issues in students were caused by pent-up emotions or traumatic events they had experienced. At that time, there was no specific intervention on campus aimed at preventing mental disorders among students. As a result, many emotional problems went unaddressed, increasing the risk of mental disorders among students. The purpose of this study was to improve students' emotional management through emotional regulation training. This study was a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pre-post-test approach. The respondents of this study were 100 nursing students. The instruments used included an emotional regulation questionnaire and an independent healthy achievement checklist that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data normality test was conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, and data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study indicated a p value 0.05, demonstrating a significant difference in emotional regulation and emotional management before and after the emotional regulation training was administered. The conclusion of this study was that emotional regulation training was an appropriate intervention to address emotional problems, help improve emotional management skills, and prevent the risk of mental health disorders among students on campus.

Abstract

Psychological changes in pregnant women tend to be less apparent and often become more evident during the postpartum period. This study is a development research using a Research and Development (RD) design with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) as the framework for designing and developing the product. The main features developed and integrated into the application include a depression assessment questionnaire based on a clinically recognized scale, namely the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), mental health tips and information, as well as access to resources and professional support. This research was conducted in the working area of Sorawolio Public Health Center. The application testing involved 14 respondents, consisting of all midwives at Sorawolio Public Health Center in Baubau City. The results showed that the application performed excellently in terms of attractiveness, perspicuity, and novelty, thus providing a positive user experience. However, the low score in dependability indicates system reliability issues that need to be addressed before the application is widely launched.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly people in Indonesia brings new challenges to the health sector, especially related to degenerative diseases such as chronic kidney disease (CKD). Elderly people with CKD undergoing hemodialysis face various changes in quality of life in physical, psychological, functional, and social aspects. Although hemodialysis can extend life expectancy, its impact on the quality of life of elderly patients often receives less attention. The purpose of this study was to use quantitative methodology to evaluate the effect of changes in quality of life in elderly people after hemodialysis in Indonesia. The four main dimensions of this analysis are physical, psychological, functional, and social. The method used in this study was a cross-sectional design with quantitative methods. The study sample consisted of 135 elderly patients undergoing hemodialysis at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Yogyakarta. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire that measured quality of life based on four aspects. Data analysis was carried out using the regression method with the SmartPLS approach to assess each aspect's effect on patients' quality of life. The results showed that all aspects studied significantly affected the quality of life of elderly people after hemodialysis. Social aspects had the most significant influence (p = 0.004), followed by psychological (p = 0.048), functional (p = 0.038), and physical (p = 0.030) aspects. Elderly people undergoing hemodialysis experience limitations in physical activity, emotional stress, decreased body function, and social isolation that affect their overall well-being.
