BERDAYA: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Lembaga Pengembangan Manajemen dan Publikasi Imperium (Imperium Research Institute). The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. BERDAYA contains various activities of the teaching staff in Indonesia in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. Focus and Scope BERDAYA, particularly focuses on the main problems in the development of the sciences of community services areas as follows: Community Services, People, Local Food Security; Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design; Community Empowerment, Social Access; Student Community Services;Border Region, Less Developed Region; Education for Sustainable Development.

<![CDATA[Banana is one of the fruits widely consumed by the people of Indonesia. This can be proven by the many types of bananas that grow and are marketed in all regions in Indonesia. Banana sellers can quickly get bananas to market, and consumers can buy them at varying prices. However, the problem arising from banana fruit is its relatively short life span. It is characterized by black spots that appear on the banana and mark the banana will begin to rot. Therefore, the process of processing bananas into beru products, namely banana sales, is carried out. The service activity began with an interview with banana sellers at the Karang Jasi market and Sweta market, Mataram City. This resource person obtained information about the banana sale and how to process it. Banana sale processing is divided into three stages: banana preparation, skinning and slicing bananas, and drying. Banana drying takes ± eight days in consistently hot weather. Banana sale that is formed can be consumed directly and reprocessed into fried bananas. With this service activity, it is hoped that it can provide information to the community about how to process almost rotten bananas and use them as additional income.]]>

<![CDATA[This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of the elderly regarding the prevention of hypertension, which often occurs in the elderly because, in the elderly, there is a decrease in the elasticity of blood vessels, so they are at high risk of experiencing hypertension. Hypertension can have an impact on the quality of life of the elderly. Prolonged hypertension will cause heart pumping disorders, kidney disease, and neurological diseases. The method used in this activity is in the form of lectures giving health education about hypertension prevention and health checks in measuring blood pressure as early detection of hypertension in the elderly. Participants were given health education utilizing lectures and media like leaflets and posters. Participants are allowed to ask questions if something needs to be understood. Participants in the activity were the elderly and pre-elderly (≥55 years) in Curah Cottok, Situbondo.]]>

<![CDATA[Anti-corruption village is a program that aims to create a village that is free from corruption. Community service was carried out in Senduro Lumajang Village, East Java Province. Senduro Village is a village with unique culture and traditions, such as Javanese customs and the unique customs of the Tengger Tribe. Senduro Village has attractive tourism potential, such as Tancak Waterfall, Banyu Anjlok Waterfall, and Coban Rondo Senduro Waterfall. The potential of the village provides a lot of income for Senduro village so the management of natural resource products must be monitored so that their utilization is for the welfare of the people and not for corruption. Therefore this community service aims to prevent acts of corruption within the Senduro village government and promote transparency, accountability, community participation, and integrity in financial management and public services. The results of this activity have an impact on increasing knowledge of corruption actions to become an anti-corruption village. In the future, it is suggested that more routine related pieces of training be carried out in maintaining an anti-corruption village because these activities have a significant impact on building an independent and integrated village.]]>

<![CDATA[The presence of an independent curriculum initiated by the Indonesian Minister of Education has begun to support the optimization of English language learning in elementary schools (SD). However, teaching English to elementary school children is a challenging matter. Teachers are expected to be able to have particular strategies that make it easier for children to enjoy English. Total Physical Response (TPS) is a technique for learning English that is innovative and fun for children. TPS uses body movements to interpret words and facilitate children to recognize English vocabulary. This training aims to help elementary school children to learn English vocabulary and create a pleasant classroom atmosphere. This community service activity was conducted at SDN 05 Sumanik Salimpaung district Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, on Wednesday, 6 September 2023, from 08.00 until Finish. Thirty-three students were participated in this activity, including students from grades 4 and 5. This activity was successfully conductedl, and the participants participated enthusiastically in the whole program. According to results of oral quiz on the use of TPS method, students could comprehend and master the English vocabulary that was introduced quickly and very well.]]>

<![CDATA[At the beginning of 2023, the government finally passed Law Number 1 in 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP Law). This law is a new step towards criminal law reform following the values of the Indonesian nation. In legal adages, the presumption iures de iure principle is known, which means that everyone is assumed to know the law. People's ignorance of the law is not an excuse to exempt them from being guilty. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct socialization by various groups on the birth of a legal product, one of which is carried out by Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Law. This socialization occurred in Jorong Sianau Indah, Nagari Sungayang, Tanah Datar Regency. The socialization was held on Friday, September 8, 2023. As a result of this socialization, the community began to get clear and correct information about forming a legal product and how to interpret the correct article formulation.]]>

<![CDATA[The prevalence in Bogor Regency of stunting cases will decrease in 2021 to 9.89% with the target of 2023 being Stunting Free Bogor Regency. However, in Mekarsari Village there were still 27 stunted children found. Mekarsari Village has a population of 6,392 people with a maximum education level of high school. In 2021, there will be 1,713 people who have not found work, causing low awareness of health and the family economy. This results in inadequate family nutrition and stunting in children. The aim of Community Service by Empowering and Socializing Family Assistance Cadres to Prevent Stunting in Children in Mekarsari Village, Bogor is one of them. Increasing community knowledge, especially parents and families, about the importance of balanced nutrition and good nutritional practices for optimal growth of children.]]>

<![CDATA[The accelerated development of communication media requires numerous changes and adjustments in all fields, particularly in communication departments that link internal and external organizations. The main problem with the media today is that so much false information, or hoaxes, must be investigated further to determine its veracity. At least within the scope of the organization they manage, it is a requirement for public relations to be able to suppress any information that develops in society. This training utilizes the lecture method and several case studies presented during the training process. The outcomes of this training are that participants comprehend and can enhance their media communication skills for countering fake news and addressing media developments.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading interest and student literacy are important aspects of education that require attention in Indonesia. Low levels of reading interest and lack of literacy are major problems that need to be addressed. One proposed solution is to utilize digital school magazines to increase students' reading interest and students' literacy skills. This research tried to overcome this problem by organizing training on making digital school magazines at SMKN Jenawi Karanganyar. The training involved students, teachers, and school staff in a series of activities covering various aspects of design, typography, color, photography, the use of CorelDRAW, and the introduction of flipbooks. The results obtained through this study showed that participants managed to understand and apply the material presented with an average success of 84%. The training also successfully increased students' interest in school magazines, with 77% out of 100 students expressing interest in digital school magazines. The digital school magazine "TGalaxy Jenawi" was successfully generated and disseminated and was able to stimulate students' interest in digital literacy.]]>

<![CDATA[Emergency conditions can occur anywhere and anytime. Medical personnel have an obligation to help deal with this situation, even though it is not uncommon for emergencies to occur in areas that are difficult for medical personnel to reach. Community participation in overcoming this situation before it is handled by the medical team is very important. One of the keys to the success of emergency relief is the provision of assistance from the community, which is the first element in finding the victim. The only health facility in Curah Cottok Village is the Primary Health Center (Puskesmas), which is five kilometers away and medical personnel are rarely available. The aim of health education in this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of the people of Curah Cottok Village and their role in handling emergencies. This activity was attended by 30 cadres and village officials. The methods used are lectures, demonstrations, and discussions. Pre-test and post-test is done by filled the questionnaire. Results: There were differences in the results of the correct answers pre and post the emergency management training. The increase is between 3 and 5 points. Conclusion: After training in emergency management, the community's knowledge has increased.]]>
