The purpose of this research is comparing down and up cut technique on milling process toward ST-37 steel material by using HSS Ø12 mm end mill cutter. The surface roughness result of down cut technique is achieved Ra 2.39 μm which is equivalent to N7 roughness level at lowest cutting speed 20 m/mnt. Moreover, the highest roughness Ra 3.61 μm obtained at highest cutting speed 30 m/mnt which is equivalent to N8 roughness level. While, the quality of up cut technique yield the roughnes Ra 3.94 μm, equivalent to N8 roughness level at lowest cutting speed 20 m/minute, whilst, Ra 6.01 μm that equivalent to N9 roughness level on highest cutting speed condition 30 m/minute. The surface roughnes value achieved between N7-N9 level (ISO). Down cut technique is recommended in order to achieve good surface quality, because it could be generate lower surface roughness on material. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membandingkan teknik down cut dan up cut pada proses freis terhadap material baja ST-37 dengan menggunakan end mill cutter diameter Ø12 mm. Hasil kekasaran permukaan dari teknik down cut adalah Ra 2,39 μm yang setara dengan level kekasaran N7 pada kecepatan potong terendah 20 m/mnt. Selanjutnya, kekasaran tertinggi Ra 3,61 μm diperoleh pada kecepatan potong tertiggi 30 m/mnt yang setara dengan level kekasaran N8. Sementara itu, kualitas teknik up cut menghasilkan kekasaran Ra 3,94 μm yang setara dengan level kekasaran N8 pada kecepatan potong terendah 20 m/mnt, sedangkan Ra 6,01 μm yang setara dengan level N9 pada kecepatan potong tertinggi 30 m/mnt. Harga kekasaran permukaan material diperoleh di antara level N7-N9 (nomor kekasaran ISO). Teknik down cut direkomendasikan untuk memperoleh kualitas permukaan yang baik, karena teknik ini dapat menghasilkan kekasaran permukaan yang lebih rendah pada benda kerja.

Car air conditioning system simulator is a tool that can be used to learn the mechanism of action and the performance of the air conditioning system with certain treatments. The purpose of this research is to be able to design, make a simulator of air conditioning system type of orifice tube car with R134a cooling fluid to determine the mechanism of action, and analyze the performance of system using R134a cooling fluid. This research is a type of Research and Development (R & D), with the ADDIE model development procedure. Based on the results of research conducted, the final product is a valid and practical Car Air Conditioning System Simulator. Coefficience Of Performance (COP) value = 4.88, and has a practical value of 93 %. Simulator sistem pengkondisian udara mobil merupakan alat yang dapat digunakan untuk mempelajari mekanisme kerja dan unjuk kerja sistem pengkondisian udara dengan perlakuan tertentu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mampu merancang, membuat simulator sistem pengkondisian udara mobil jenis orifice tube dengan fluida pendingin R134a untuk mengetahui mekanisme kerja, dan menganalisa unjuk kerja sistem dengan menggunakan fluida pendingin R134a. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis Research and Development (R & D), dengan prosedur pengembangan model ADDIE. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dihasilkan produk akhir berupa Simulator Sistem Pengkondisian Udara Mobil yang valid dan praktis. Nilai Cooefficience Of Performance (COP) = 4,88, dan memiliki nilai kepraktisan 93 %.

The availability of materials that meet production needs is sometimes not easy to obtain. Material properties must meet the standards are physical properties, including violence. One method is to increase the value of the surface hardness of the material by the boriding process. Boriding is a surface hardening process through the process of diffusion of the substrate, thereby causing the material hardness to increase. The results showed the temperature in the boriding process of DIN 34CrNiMo6 material was proven to affect the surface hardness of the material. The FeB diffusion process begins to form at temperatures of 850°C and 950°C. The optimal temperature for the boriding process is at a temperature of 950°C. Ketersediaan material yang memenuhi kebutuhan produksi terkadang tidak mudah untuk didapatkan. Sifat material harus memenuhi standar adalah sifat fisik material, diantaranya adalah kekerasan. Salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan nilai kekerasan permukaan material dengan proses boriding. Boriding merupakan suatu proses surface hardening melalui proses difusi terhadap substrat sehingga menyebabkan nilai kekerasan material tersebut mengalami kenaikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan temperatur pada proses boriding terhadap material DIN 34CrNiMo6 terbukti dapat mempengaruhi kekerasan permukaan material. Proses difusi FeB mulai terbentuk pada temperatur 850°C dan 950°C. Temperatur optimal untuk proses boriding adalah pada temperatur 950°C

Utilization of natural fiber waste, especially pineapple dau fiber, is a major concern and continues to be developed to utilize and optimize plantation waste as a material that is more environmentally friendly, energy efficient and inexpensive. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of alkaline treatment on the mechanical properties of pineapple leaf fiber composite material as an appropriate alternative material. The method in this research is the experimental method, where the research was carried out by giving variations in the percentage of alkaline 10% and 20%. The results of the research on the composite material of pineapple leaf fiber using tensile testing showed that giving alkaline treatment with a percentage of 20% made the fiber stronger but brittle. In addition, the orientation direction and immersion time also affect the tensile strength of the fibers. Pemanfaatan limbah serat alam khususnya serat dau nanas menjadi bahan alternatif menjadi perhatian utama serta terus dikembangkan guna memanfaatkan dan mengoptimalkan limbah perkebunan sebagai bahan material yang lebih ramah lingkungan, hemat energi, dan murah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan alkali terhadap sifat mekanik material komposit serat daun nanas sebagai bahan alternatif tepat guna. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimen, dimana penelitian dilakukan dengan pemberian variasi persentase alkali 10% dan 20%. Hasil penelitian material komposit serat daun nanas dengan menggunakan pengujian tarik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian perlakuan alkali dengan persentase 20% membuat serat menjadi lebih kuat namun bersifat getas. Selain itu, arah orientasi dan waktu perendaman juga mempengaruhi kekuatan tarik serat.

Today, to create the official student affair letters in the Padang State Polytechnic has not been computerized yet, so students have to queue and it takes a long time. With this developed system, there is no longer a queuing process at the counter, students can fill out a form through the system and will receive a notification when the official letter has been confirmed from related section. With this system, the campus is also facilitated in the process of searching for data, for example knowing the student who made the letter, the graph of each category of making a letter per year from the letter application. The system is built with the PHP programming language with Code Igniter framework and MySQL as DBMS. Pembuatan surat kemahasiswaan yang dilakukan di Politkenik Negeri Padang belum terkomputerisasi, sehingga mahasiswa harus mengantri dan waktu yang dibutuhkan lama. Dengan sistem yang dikembangkan ini, tidak adalagi proses antrian di loket, mahasiswa dapat mengisi form surat melalui sistem dan akan menerima notifikasi ketika surat telah dikonfirmasi dari pihak terkait. Dengan sistem ini, pihak kampus juga dimudahkan dalam proses pencarian data, misal mengetahui mahasiswa yang melakukan pembuatan surat, grafik setiap kategori dari pembuatan surat pertahun dari permohonan surat. Sistem dibangun dengan bahasa pemrograan PHP dengan framework Code Igniter dan MySQL sebagai DBMS.

This study aims to apply the Internet of Things to monitoring electricity energy consumption. The system is designed to replace the manual and conventional measurement of electrical energy. Uncontrolled use of electricity is one of the causes of high levels of electrical energy consumption. Therefore, consumers need to know the amount of electrical energy consumption in real-time. The device is designed using the PZEM-004T which is used as a sensor to read electrical multi-parameter, Arduino as the main control, and ESP8266 as a data sender on the Cloud system. The test results showed that the device has been able to read and display electricity quantity data in the form of voltage, current, power, and electricity tariff accumulation in real-time displayed on the ThingSpeak platform. The test on the PZEM-004T sensor has an accuracy rate of 94.96% for reading current values and 99.42% for reading voltage values. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknologi Internet of Things pada monitoring konsumsi energi listrik. Sistem dirancang untuk menggantikan pengukuran energi listrik yang masih manual dan konvensional. Penggunaan listrik yang tidak terkontrol merupakan salah satu penyebab tingginya tingkat pemakaian energi listrik. Oleh karena itu, konsumen perlu mengetahui jumlah pemakaian energi listrik secara realtime. Alat dirancang menggunakan PZEM-004T yang digunakan sebagai sensor untuk membaca multi-parameter listrik, Arduino sebagai kendali utama, dan ESP8266 sebagai pengirim data pada sistem Cloud. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa alat telah mampu membaca dan menampilkan data besaran listrik berupa tegangan, arus, daya, dan akumulasi tarif listrik secara realtime yang ditampilkan pada platform ThingSpeak. Pengujian pada sensor PZEM-004T memiliki tingkat akurasi 94.96% untuk pembacaan nilai arus dan 99. 42% untuk pembacaan nilai tegangan.

This research was motivated by the large number of consumer requests for mechanics in workshops to replace the radiator coolant in diesel engines with reguler water. This research used an experimental research approach. The experimental research was often used to find the effect of existing variable and to test the hypotheses. Based on the results of testing and data analysis that have been carried out can be seen: there was an average decrease in the temperature of the cooling media from the engine due to using the cooling media from the manufacturer, a decrease in the rate of heat dissipation between reguler water and Prestone on each rotation with an average of 4.97%, the water with TOP 1 Coolant 5.11% and the water with Toyota SLCC at 6.64%. Based on the analysis of research data and statistical tests, it was concluded that the use of cooling media from the manufacturer can increase the heat transfer coefficient of the working fluid of the radiator, so that it can reduce the engine heat level and increase the rate of coolant heat dissipation. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya permintaan konsumen kepada mekanik di bengkel untuk mengganti air radiator pada mesin diesel dengan air biasa Penelitian ini digolongkan pada penelitian pendekatan eksperimen. Penelitian eksperimen sering digunakan untuk mencari pengaruh di antara variabel-variabel yang ada serta untuk pengujian hipotesis. Hasil pengujian dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui: Terdapat rata-rata penurunan suhu media pendingin dari mesin akibat menggunakan media pendingin asal pabrikan, penurunan laju pembuangan panas antara air biasa dengan Prestone pada masing-masing putaran dengan rata-rata 4,97%, air dengan TOP 1 Coolant 5,11% dan air dengan Toyota SLCC sebesar 6,64%. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian dan uji statistik yang dilakukan disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pendingin asal pabrikan dapat memperbesar koefisien perpindahan panas fluida kerja radiator sehingga dapat menurunkan tingkat panas mesin dan meningkatkan laju pembuangan panas cairan pendingin

This article aims to design a taperless blade in a micro-scale wind turbine in medium wind speed, a case study at PT Lentera Bumi Nusantara. The methodology used in this research is quantitative research methods. Based on the test results in calculating the data using Microsoft Excel software and the blade airfoil design simulation using Qblade software, the use of the S-4320 airfoil in the application of the taperless blade design has research results that show that the airfoil design of the blade produces mechanical power at moderate wind speeds. It can be concluded that this blade design shows that the taperless blade with S-4320 airfoil can be applied to medium wind speeds in micro-scale horizontal axis wind turbines. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk merancang bilah jenis taperless pada turbin angin skala mikro dalam kecepatan angin sedang, studi kasus pada PT Lentera Bumi Nusantara. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dalam perhitungan data menggunakan software Microsoft Excel dan simulasi perancangan desain airfoil bilah menggunakan software Qblade, penggunaan airfoil S-4320 dalam pengaplikasian desain bilah jenis taperless memiliki hasil penelitian yang menunjukan bahwa desain airfoil bilah tersebut menghasilkan tenaga mekanik pada kecepatan angin sedang. Dapat disimpulkan dalam desain bilah ini menunjukan bahwa bilah jenis taperless dengan airfoil S-4320 dapat diterapkan pada kecepatan angin sedang pada turbin angin sumbu horizontal skala mikro.

Switching from fossil fuels to alternative fuels requires adjusting several engine parameters to avoid a decrease in engine torque and power. This happens because of the different properties of different fuels. One of the parameters that must be set is the compression ratio. This study aims to determine the effect of increasing the compression ratio on the torque and power of the Honda CB 150R engine using 85% bioethanol (E85) as fuel. The research method used an experimental method with 2 types of fuel and variations in the compression ratio. From the research results, it can be seen that the torque and power using E85 fuel have increased respectively by 1.08% and 1.5% when compared to the standard compression ratio using fossil fuels. Pergantian bahan bakar dari fosil ke bahan bakar alternatif membutuhkan pengaturan pada beberapa parameter engine untuk menghindari terjadinya penurunan pada torsi dan daya mesin. Hal ini terjadi karena perbedaan dari properties bahan bakar yang berbeda. Salah satu parameter yang harus di atur adalah rasio kompresi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui pengaruh dari peningkatan rasio kompresi terhadap torsi dan daya engine Honda CB 150R menggunakan bahan bakar bioetanol 85% (E85). Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan 2 jenis bahan bakar dan variasi pada rasio kompresi. Dari hasil penelitian terlihat bahwa torsi dan daya dengan menggunakan bahan bakar E85 mengalami peningkatan masing-masing sebesar 1,08 % dan 1,5 % jika dibandingkan dengan rasio kompresi standard menggunakan bahan bakar fosil.

The Nazhafa Garbage Bank is part of a Municipally owned corporation called BUMnag Pekandangan Emas, Padang Pariaman City. Cash data processing is still written in a book and MS Excel files. This resulted in the data not being recorded optimally. It takes long time to search for data, process transaction data and sometimes late payment of salaries to officers. Therefore, an information system for cash receipts and disbursements and remuneration was built at the Nazhafa Garbage Bank. This information system is built using codeigniter framework and MySQL DBMS. The final result is an information system that processes cash and salary data. With this system, you can record sales, record purchases, and record salaries every day or every month. This system can minimize the possibility of errors in data. This system improves the management performance of the Nazhafa Waste Bank. Bank Sampah Nazhafa merupakan bagian dari badan usaha milik nagari atau disingkat dengan BUMnag Pakandangan Emas Kota Padang Pariaman. Pengolahan data kas masih ditulis dalam buku agenda, memerlukan waktu lama untuk mencari data, mengolah data transaksi pada data penerimaan dan pengeluaran kas, dan pemberian gaji ke pegawai. Sistem informasi penerimaan dan pengeluaran kas serta penggajian dibangun untuk mengelola data penerimaan kas dan pengeluaran kas serta penggajian pada Bank Sampah Nazhafa. Sistem ini menggunakan framework codeigniter dan DBMS MySQL. Hasil akhir didapati sebuah sistem informasi yang melakukan pengolahan data kas dan data gaji, mendata penjualan, mendata pembelian, dan mendata gaji setiap hari ataupun setiap bulannya. Sistem ini meningkatkan kinerja pengelolaan pada Bank Sampah Nazhafa.
