Abstract

The digital era is a period of modern life where information and communication technology has become an integral part of human activities. Technological developments demand digital integration in various aspects, including learning. Digital-based learning is essential. Teachers, as important components in learning, must have the ability to implement digital-based learning. The use of digital-based media that is easily accessible, interactive, and dynamic is certainly an unavoidable demand in today's learning. This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Google Sites on the material of Evidence of Faith for grade XI students as an alternative Islamic Religious Education learning media in the digital era. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed product was validated by media experts and material experts, and its practicality was tested on grade XI students through a student response questionnaire. The validation process involved 3 media expert validators and 3 material expert validators, while the practicality test was carried out with limited testing through small groups involving 6 students. The results of the study indicate that the media expert’s validity value is 0.9201 and the material expert's validity value is 0.9097, categorised as “very valid”. The practicality test results obtained a value of 0.94097, categorised as “very practical”. These findings indicate that the developed Google Sites-based interactive learning media is feasible, practical, and effective to apply in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning on evidence of faith material. This study contributes to providing technology-integrated Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning media, increasing student engagement, learning flexibility, and supporting teacher competencies in the digital era

Abstract

Sexual harassment prevention is a process that helps individuals understand and interpret facts related to sexual violence. This process also aims to determine the level of effectiveness, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors in preventing sexual harassment. This study employed the Service-Learning method and adopted a mixed-methods approach using a concurrent embedded design. The results of the study show that the effectiveness of the coaching process was classified as “Fairly Good”, with an average questionnaire score of 78%. Meanwhile, the Self-Limits Quiz result reached 83%, which falls into the “Good” category. The supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing the coaching program for the prevention of sexual harassment in Islamic boarding schools include: (a) limited hours for Islamic Education Guidance (BPI) and insufficient emphasis on students’ character development, (b) the role of teachers in providing students with understanding during reproductive system lessons, (c) a large number of participants in the coaching program, resulting in inadequate group coaching facilities, and (d) the absence of an effective complaint channel for sexual violence cases

Abstract

Environmental education in elementary schools may increase students’ environmental knowledge without necessarily producing corresponding behavioural engagement. This study evaluated whether participation in a structured project-based planting activity was associated with changes in elementary students’ self-reported environmental care behaviour. A one-group pretest–posttest pre-experimental design was used with 168 Grade IV and V students from seven public elementary schools in Kediri Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected using a nine-item Likert-type questionnaire covering environmental understanding, active engagement, and responsibility and care intention. Descriptive statistics and a paired-samples t-test were used to examine pretest–posttest differences, and Cohen’s d was calculated to describe the magnitude of change. The mean score increased from 21.43 (SD = 3.72) at pretest to 29.18 (SD = 3.14) at posttest, with a mean difference of 7.75 points, t (167) = 17.379, p < .001, and d = 1.34. The findings indicate a large short-term increase in students’ self-reported environmental care behaviour following the activity. However, because the study did not include a control group or longitudinal follow-up, the observed gain should not be interpreted as definitive evidence of a causal or lasting intervention effect. The findings support the use of structured, hands-on environmental activities as a feasible component of elementary environmental education while highlighting the need for controlled and longitudinal research

Abstract

Jious’ Sabuah became a place to learn religion in South Bolaang Mongondow in the 20th century. The presence of the Sabuah was most significant to the Muslim society at that time. Unfortunately, the Sabuah as an institution of traditional Islamic education did not develop and was forgotten. This history has not yet been discussed either in the context of the discourse of Islamic education in Nusantara or Bolaang Mongondow. This article aims to explain Jiou’s role and Sabuah as a place of traditional Islamic education in South Bolaang Mongondow in the 20th century. This article used the approaches of history, social, and culture, and the historical method with the stages of heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The findings in this article explain that Jiou’s role developed the Sabuah as the institution of Islamic education in South Bolaang Mongondow in the 20th century. The educational system at the Sabuah focused on an effort to teach the way of reciting the Qur’an. The 20th-century historical dynamics became the reason this local institution did not develop. These findings have implications, asserting that the Sabuah never became a centre of traditional Islamic education in South Bolaang Mongondow. This historical result has novelty in the form of a historical contribution in introducing the Sabuah as a local educational institution. Theoretical discussion in this article also gives a theoretical view about the historical dynamics caused by changes in culture and social role. The historical result and theoretical discussion in this article give the historical and theoretical contributions to the discourse of Islamic education in Nusantara.

Abstract

Pematangsiantar offers an important case for understanding urban Islam in a religiously plural city. Muslims constitute 45.83% of the population, while Protestants and Catholics together account for 50.03%, making Islam a large but not demographically dominant religious community. This article examines how Islam has been historically articulated, socially institutionalised, and culturally negotiated in Pematangsiantar’s multicultural urban life. Using a social history approach, the study combines documentary analysis of official demographic data, published local histories, and peer-reviewed studies on Islam, mosques, pluralism, and local wisdom. The findings show that Islam in Pematangsiantar developed through commercial networks, royal patronage, mosque-centered institution building, da’wah organisations, and everyday encounters across religious communities. The article argues that urban Islam in Pematangsiantar is best understood as a negotiated, civic, and culturally embedded religiosity, rather than merely as a demographic presence.

Abstract

While there is a wealth of literature on the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy in general, studies elaborating on the integration of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula grounded in Islamic educational values remain relatively scarce. Addressing this academic gap, this study analyses the implementation dynamics of the MBKM policy within the Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI Islamic Elementary Teacher Education) study program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Employing a qualitative case study approach over one academic semester, data were collected through non-participant observation of instructional practices and document analysis, including institutional regulations, 45 student reflection logs, and academic reports. All data were processed systematically through stages of reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that although the MBKM curriculum reorientation successfully transformed the learning paradigm into one that is more flexible and student-centered, its implementation faces four key empirical challenges: (1) limited lecturer understanding of credit (SKS) conversion mechanisms, (2) suboptimal integration of digital academic information systems, (3) disparities in students' psychosocial readiness, and (4) limited strategic partnership collaboration. This study offers practical insights into the importance of strengthening digital academic governance and providing pre-program psychosocial support to align experiential learning with Islamic pedagogical values, thereby producing adaptive professional educators for the 21st century

Abstract

Although studies on endangered oral traditions have increased, most focus on documentation rather than developing evidence-based revitalisation frameworks. Consequently, the Simalungun taur-taur tradition remains underexplored from an anthropolinguistic perspective despite its rapid intergenerational decline. This study aims to examine the anthropolinguistic characteristics of taur-taur, identify factors contributing to its decline, and develop the Integrated Taur-Taur Revitalisation Model (ITRM). Using a qualitative ethnographic design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, document analysis, and audiovisual recordings involving 18 purposively selected participants from four sub-districts of Simalungun Regency. Reflexive thematic analysis revealed four performative sub-genres and six interrelated sociolinguistic factors accelerating language endangerment across ideological, demographic, and institutional domains. Acoustic analysis of representative recordings from each sub-genre further revealed distinct prosodic profiles, with final-syllable duration ranging from 421 ms in parsaoran to 534 ms in panurirang, reflecting its lamentative function and confirming taur-taur's distinctive prosodic register. Based on these findings, this study proposes the Integrated Taur-Taur Revitalisation Model (ITRM) integrating digital documentation, master–apprentice transmission, educational integration, and community-based revitalisation. The model contributes a context-specific anthropolinguistic framework that supports sustainable preservation of endangered oral traditions and informs language policy, cultural education, and community empowerment
