Abstract

This study examines the role of civic education as a strategic instrument in efforts to preserve and empower the Iko-Iko cultural heritage in the Sapeken Islands. Through a qualitative approach using a case study method, the study revealed that integrating local cultural values into the civic education curriculum can create synergy between strengthening national identity and preserving local wisdom. The research findings show that Iko-Iko culture-based learning not only increases students' awareness and pride in their cultural heritage but also strengthens the cultural resilience of the Sapeken community in the face of globalisation. The integrated learning model developed has succeeded in transforming civic education practices from a conventional approach to empowering contextual learning. The implementation of this model encourages the active participation of the younger generation in efforts to conserve and develop the Iko-Iko tradition as a national cultural asset. The study concludes that revitalising civic education based on local wisdom is an effective strategy in maintaining the sustainability of cultural heritage while building the character of citizens with cultural identity

Abstract

Religion in the digital era presents challenges for education and religious practices for the younger generation in Indonesia. The internet and social media have become the main sources of religious information for many young people, which potentially increases the occurrence of intolerance. To address this, effective religious education strategies are needed, which incorporate technology to engage the digital generation. The goal is to maintain the existence of religion by adapting to changes, developing competencies in digital technology to effectively reach and explore the creativity of the younger generation. Overall, religion continues to play an important role in the digital era, despite new challenges and opportunities. This article refers to the implications of Al Ghazali's theory, Al Ghazali's views on ilm (knowledge) with ta'awun (social cooperation), which can be seen as a form of mutually supportive social networks in Islamic society. As a result, modern thinkers connect Al-Ghazali's thoughts with the dynamics of social and religious relationships in Islam, particularly in observing the phenomenon of religious existence issues among the millennial and Gen Z generations in Indonesia

Abstract

Feminism is now attracting the attention of Muslims as a result of the influence of globalization. This includes disturbing inheritance law issues for women. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the problems of inheritance law for women from Amina Wadud's perspective and how Islam explains it in detail. The method used is literature study. The results of this research explain that in Islam, women are positioned as noble and empowered creatures. The Prophet Muhammad SAW taught to honor mothers three times before fathers. Women who were once considered insignificant are now respected. Islamic inheritance law emphasizes fairness between men and women

Abstract

Modern challenges demand Islamic education to instil knowledge and build strong moral character. This research aims to analyse the integration of science and morals in Islamic education as an effective model for building the Rabbani Generation. The research method used is qualitative with interviews, observation, and documentation techniques in Islamic educational institutions. The results of the study show that the success of this model is supported by several key factors, namely the role of educators as moral role models, the integration of curriculum based on Islamic values, extracurricular activities that develop students' character, and a social environment that is conducive to the formation of Islamic behavior. This study concludes that a holistic approach that emphasises the integration of science and morals can form intellectually intelligent individuals with noble character. The contribution of this research lies in the educational model that can be applied in various Islamic educational institutions as a solution to face the challenges of the modern era

Abstract

This research aims to improve the mathematical problem-solving abilities of class XII Langsa State High School students through the application of the Principles of Realistic Mathematics (PMR). The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with three cycles. The research subjects were 28 students. Data was obtained through problem-solving ability tests, observation of teacher activities, and student activities in learning. The research results show that the application of PMR is effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities. In cycle I, the students' average score reached 65.43 with classical completeness of 53.57%. This value increased to 72.86 in cycle II with classical completeness of 75.00%, and in cycle III it increased again to 80.23 with classical completeness of 89.28%. Apart from that, teacher activity in learning with PMR also increased from cycle to cycle, with the average value of teachers' ability to manage learning increasing from 3.00 in cycle I, to 3.25 in cycle II, and 3.45 in cycle III. Student learning activities also show an increase. In cycle I, the percentage of student activity was 62.50% (sufficient category), increased to 70.83% in cycle II (good category), and reached 78.57% in cycle III (active category). Students are more active in understanding contextual problems, discussing to find solutions, and summarising learning results. With these results, it can be concluded that the PMR approach can improve students' mathematical problem solving, student learning activities, and the effectiveness of teacher learning management. Therefore, PMR is recommended as a learning strategy that can be applied in mathematics learning at the high school level.

Abstract

Generation Z faces increasing challenges in forming their sense of self. This study explores how traditional arts, particularly Jaipong dance, can serve as a medium for personal branding through informal learning. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected via observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of active members of Sanggar Seni Cahaya Kancana in Garut, West Java. The findings suggest that the studio serves as a social and cultural ecosystem where participants internalise cultural values, boost their self-confidence, and develop personal branding both offline and online. Specifically, participants demonstrated significant character development, gained community recognition, and used social media to amplify their cultural identities. The results support the integration of traditional art into youth identity formation by combining local heritage with digital expression. This study contributes to the understanding of informal learning spaces as strategic environments for shaping competitive and culturally grounded identities in the digital age

Abstract

The cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity that characterises Indonesian society can often be a source of social friction if it is not balanced with inclusive and transformative education. Islamic education, as one of the dominant education systems in Indonesia, is still often trapped in a normative-doctrinal approach that lacks multicultural awareness. This article aims to examine Abdul Munir Mulkhan's thought as a conceptual offering in the reactualization of multicultural Islamic education that is more contextual and transformative. This research uses a qualitative approach to library research by examining the primary and secondary works of Abdul Munir Mulkhan and other relevant supporting literature. The results of the study show that Mulkhan offers a model of Islamic education based on transformative humanism and substantive multiculturalism through the concept of "transcendental-praxian Islam". Islamic education, according to him, should prioritise the marginalised as its main subject, respect spiritual pluralism, and be integrated with local values. This model not only rejects religious exclusivism, but also encourages a liberating and glueing social proxy. The implications of Mulkhan's ideas encourage curriculum reformulation, teacher training, and institutional policies that are responsive to the pluralistic realities of society. This reactualization is important to prevent radicalism, strengthen social cohesion, and form an inclusive and visionary generation of Muslims. Therefore, it is recommended that Islamic education stakeholders, both from the madrasah sector, Islamic boarding schools, and universities, adopt and implement a multicultural approach based on progressive Islamic values as initiated by Abdul Munir Mulkhan
