Abstract

Sexual violence against children is a very complex form of crime and has a long-term impact on the victim, both physically and psychologically. This study aims to analyze the comparison of legal regulations between sexual violence crimes and human trafficking crimes, evaluate the implementation of legal protection and criminal policies against sexual violence against children, and examine the countermeasures strategies carried out by the Pematangsiantar Resort Police. The method used is a normative juridical approach and a sociological juridical approach, by combining the study of laws and regulations and interviews with related parties. The results of the study show that although there are differences in characteristics between sexual violence and trafficking in persons, the two can be interrelated in the context of sexual exploitation of children. The Pematangsiantar Police have implemented criminal policies through preventive, repressive, and rehabilitative approaches. The strategies implemented include training investigators, provision of child-friendly spaces, and cross-sector collaboration with child protection institutions. Although there are still obstacles in terms of human resources and facilities, the efforts made show a strong commitment to providing legal protection for children as a vulnerable group. This research emphasizes the importance of criminal policies that are integrated with child protection approaches in order to provide comprehensive justice.

Abstract

Drug abuse among adolescents is a serious problem that requires an effective prevention approach. The Anti-Drug Ambassador Program as a non-formal education agent is present as an innovative strategy in increasing public awareness, especially the younger generation in Samarinda. This study aims to analyze the role, strategies and challenges of Anti-Drug Ambassadors in efforts to prevent drug prevention through peer-education-based non-formal education . This study uses a phenomenological qualitative approach, and data collection techniques used in-depth interview techniques, participatory observation, and documentation studies. In this study, the data analysis technique is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that: (1) Anti-Drug Ambassadors have an important role as peer educators, non-formal education agents, community facilitators, anti-drug advocates, and agents of change. (2) The strategies used include persuasive communication, community-based approaches, collaboration with community leaders, interactive counseling, and the use of digital media. (3) The Anti-Drug Ambassador Program still faces challenges such as limited funds, weak member commitment, and lack of budget support from local governments. Overall, the Anti-Drug Ambassador Program in Samarinda has proven to be effective in shaping the resilience of young people to harm through relevant and contextual non-formal education methods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Pancasila values, particularly the third principle of “The Unity of Indonesia”, in the formation of discipline and patriotism of students through Paskibra extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 7 Balikpapan. The background of this research is based on the urgency of instilling character education as an effort to strengthen the spirit of nationalism in the midst of globalization that has the potential to erode the values of nationalism of the younger generation. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The data collection technique is conducted through observation, interview, and documentation to the coach and active members of Paskibra in SMA Negeri 7 Balikpapan. The result of the research shows that Paskibra activities have a strategic role in instilling the values of the third principle of Pancasila through the formation of discipline, nationalism, cooperation, and shared responsibility. These values are reflected through the concept of “Jiwa Korsa”, respect for state symbols and habits embedded from various routine activities. The research contributes to the strengthening of civic education and can be used as a reference in character building in the school environment.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and validate a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessment instrument for Chemistry learning at MAN 2 Kota Madiun. The study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Borg and Gall model, which involves stages of needs analysis, product design, expert validation, limited trials, wider implementation, and revision. The assessment instrument was designed to align with the core competencies and learning objectives of chemistry subjects while emphasizing problem-solving, analysis, and evaluation skills. Validation was carried out by experts in education, measurement, and chemistry, followed by trials with students to test reliability, validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results showed that the developed HOTS-based assessment instrument met very valid criteria in terms of content, construct, and language. The instrument demonstrated high reliability and was considered practical by both teachers and students. Furthermore, its implementation indicated positive impacts on students’ engagement and their ability to think critically and analytically in solving chemistry problems. In conclusion, the HOTS-based assessment instrument for Chemistry is proven to be valid, reliable, practical, and effective in measuring higher order thinking skills. This study highlights the potential of integrating HOTS-oriented evaluation tools into classroom practice to foster critical and creative thinking among students, thereby supporting the improvement of learning quality in line with 21st-century educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of tutors in implementing non-formal education services at SPNF SKB Negeri 2 Samarinda with a focus on the role of tutors as facilitators, motivators, evaluators and social companions. This study uses a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observations, and documentation studies.Data analysis techniques include the data condensation stage, data presentation (matrix/theme network), as well as conclusion drawing and verification, coding is carried out deductive-inductive (initial code from role theory concepts, andragogy principles, competency development enriched through open coding to saturation). The results of the study show that tutors at SPNF SKB Negeri 2 Samarinda play an important role in creating a participatory and relevant learning atmosphere that is in accordance with the principles of andragogy. As motivators, tutors provide psychological support and enthusiasm to residents to learn with a personal approach. As evaluators, they conduct assessments based on contextual understanding and provide constructive feedback. On the other hand, as social companions, tutors pay attention to the personal condition of learning residents to create social bonds that strengthen the sustainability of the learning process. While there is already recognition of the existence of tutors, the study also found a need to strengthen the professional capacity of tutors through relevant training and rewards equivalent to their contributions. For this reason, non-formal educational institutions need to provide more support in the form of continuous training, formal recognition and fair performance evaluations so that tutors can carry out their roles optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the planning of audiovisual learning media management by Civics Education (PPKn) teachers, (2) the implementation of audiovisual learning media management, (3) the improvement of students’ learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains after the use of audiovisual media, and (4) the obstacles and solutions encountered by teachers in managing audiovisual media. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects were Civics Education teachers and grade XII students at SMA Negeri 2 Tenggarong. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that the management of audiovisual media by Civics Education teachers was carried out in a planned and integrated manner with learning objectives. The media used included interactive powerpoint, instructional videos, current news broadcasts, and the quizizz application. The evaluation of learning outcomes showed improvements in the cognitive domain (indicated by differences between pre-test and post-test scores), the affective domain (indicated through attitude observation), and the psychomotor domain (indicated through discussions, group presentations, and students’ products/creations). Obstacles encountered included technical and pedagogical limitations, which were overcome through collaborative strategies and the optimization of technology use. Overall, audiovisual media management has proven to contribute positively to improving students’ learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. This research is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in developing innovative, technology-based learning strategies.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to explore how organizational support influences the performance of employees at the Inspectorate of Ngawi Regency, either directly or through the involvement of Employee engagement and proactive work behavior. The research population consists of all 59 civil servants at the Inspectorate of Ngawi Regency, including 53 permanent civil servants (PNS) and 6 candidates (CPNS), all of whom were sampled using a census method. Data were analyzed utilizing the Partial Least Squares (PLS) statistical framework. Results revealed a significant positive relationship between organizational support and employee performance (p < 0.05). The mediation analysis confirmed that employee engagement serves as a significant mediator in this relationship, whereby organizational support influences performance through its effect on work engagement levels. Proactive work behavior is also proven to mediate this relationship, with organizational support encouraging employees to take initiative and act proactively, thereby enhancing overall performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of scientific thinking ability in science literacy on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of plants within the Natural Sciences subject for Grade IV at SDN 012 Ujungbatu. Employing a quantitative approach with a correlational method, the research involved all 28 students in the class using a saturated sampling technique. Instruments used included a Guttman scale questionnaire to assess scientific thinking ability and multiple-choice tests to evaluate learning outcomes. Validity and reliability tests were conducted using SPSS version 25, with all items meeting the standards (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.920 for the thinking skills questionnaire and 0.960 for the learning test). Item analysis revealed balanced levels of difficulty and good discriminating power. Prerequisite tests showed that the data met the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The hypothesis test using linear regression analysis demonstrated a significant positive effect of scientific thinking ability on science learning outcomes, with a regression coefficient of 0.450 and a significance level of 0.000. The findings confirm that students with higher scientific thinking abilities tend to achieve better academic results. Therefore, fostering scientific thinking skills in the context of science literacy is essential to enhance students' academic performance and critical reasoning from an early age.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of using video learning media on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 017 Kualu in the subject of science. The background of the problem shows the low critical thinking skills of students, which are caused by less varied learning methods and minimal interaction in class. By using a quantitative approach through the experimental method of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design , this study involved 30 students as a sample. Data were collected through critical thinking ability test instruments (pretest and posttest) that have been tested for validity and reliability, and supported by qualitative data from observations and interviews. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' average scores from 48.9 (pretest) to 74.8 (posttest). This increase was supported by a paired t-test, which produced a t-count value of 14.32, much greater than the t-table (2.045) with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Qualitative findings confirmed that video media successfully increased students' motivation, enthusiasm, and active participation in learning. Thus, this study proves that learning video media has a significant influence on improving students' critical thinking skills, and is able to create a more interactive and effective learning environment

Abstract

This study aims to develop innovative learning media in the form of Canva-assisted digital comics on food web material for fifth-grade elementary school students. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which is limited to the Development stage . The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, and linguists. The research procedure started from the stages of Needs Analysis, Storyboard Design, and Product Development using the Canva application. The resulting product was then validated by material experts and media experts using a feasibility questionnaire instrument. Qualitative data (input and suggestions) were analyzed descriptively, while quantitative data (percentages) were analyzed using a Likert scale. The validation results showed that this digital comic media had a very high level of validity. Assessments from material experts were in the range of 87.5%-100% and media experts in the range of 93.75%-100%, both of which were included in the "Very Valid" category. Validation results from linguists showed that Canva-assisted digital comic products on food web material had a very high level of validity. All assessed aspects scored above 87%, indicating the product is suitable for use without major revisions . Therefore, the developed digital comic is highly suitable and can be used as an effective, engaging learning medium that meets student needs and the curriculum.
