Abstract

This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership, school culture, and job satisfaction on teacher performance in public elementary schools in Temanggung District. Employing a quantitative research approach with a survey method, data were collected from 152 teachers using validated questionnaires and analyzed with multiple regression techniques. The findings reveal that transformational leadership contributes the highest impact on teacher performance (48.7%), followed by job satisfaction (38.7%) and school culture (37.4%). Simultaneously, these three variables account for 61.6% of the variance in teacher performance, indicating that the combination of effective leadership, positive school culture, and high job satisfaction significantly enhances teacher performance. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative model that simultaneously examines the roles of leadership, organizational culture, and job satisfaction in the context of Indonesian elementary education, particularly in Temanggung. However, this study is limited to a single district and focuses only on three independent variables. Future research should expand the scope to other regions and incorporate additional variables such as pedagogical competence, intrinsic motivation, and organizational commitment, possibly employing a mixed-methods approach. These extensions will provide deeper insights and more comprehensive recommendations for improving teacher performance and educational quality.

Abstract

Toponyms are not merely geographical labels but also linguistic repositories of cultural memory, historical experience, and environmental perception. In regions with rich ethno-linguistic diversity, such as South Minahasa, Indonesia, place-names reflect the intricate relationship between language, identity, and local knowledge. This study investigates the morphological structure and dominant naming themes of ten toponyms in South Amurang District, South Minahasa Regency, where the Tontemboan language is increasingly endangered. It addresses a critical gap in toponymic research by prioritizing linguistic morphology over narrative or historical speculation, offering a scientifically grounded interpretation of place-names. Employing a qualitative descriptive case study design, data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with 20 key informants, and the Simak Libat Cakap (SLC) technique. The analysis followed the intralingual matching method involving morphemic decomposition, lexical clarification, and contextual interpretation. The theoretical framework integrates Djajasudarma’s (1993) morphological theory and Duranti’s (1997) anthropological linguistics to balance structural and cultural analyses. The findings revealed that eight of the ten toponyms underwent morphological processes affixation, compounding, acronym formation, and complex affixation demonstrating a systematic naming system rooted in Tontemboan grammar. Water emerged as the dominant naming theme, appearing in four toponyms and reflecting its ecological and cultural centrality. Other themes included geographical features, community habits, historical events, and gratitude. Morphological analysis has successfully resolved long-standing community debates on names such as Pinalin and Malenos, confirming that linguistic decomposition yields more accurate meanings than oral narratives. This study concludes that morphological analysis is essential for valid toponymic interpretation, especially in regions with complex local languages. It offers a replicable model for integrating linguistic structure with the cultural context, contributing to language documentation, cultural preservation, and informed public policy.

Abstract

Banyuwangi Regency possesses significant local historical potential through the presence of sites such as Songgon Cave, Wongsorejo Cave, Kalipuro Cave, and the Neolithic Site of Kendenglembu. These resources have not yet been optimally utilised within the history learning process at the upper secondary school level. This study aims to develop a digital instructional medium based on artificial intelligence that reconstructs local historical sites in a visual and educational manner. The research employs a 4D model of Research and Development (R&D), comprising the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The sample includes 200 upper secondary school students selected through stratified purposive sampling. Data collection techniques encompass pre-tests and post-tests, expert validation, observation, and interviews with local community members. The results show that expert validation yielded a feasibility score of 92% and usability of 89%. The students’ pre-test score was 61.4, increasing to 84.7 in the post-test, with an effectiveness value of Cohen’s d at 1.72. The media is deemed highly suitable for use in local wisdom-based history learning. This research recommends further development in integrating virtual reality and enhancing visual data through GIS. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and function of the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) of the Taliabu Island Regency DPRD in the process of forming regional regulations (Perda). The birth of Bapemperda as a fitting tool for the DPRD is a mandate of Law Number 12 of 2011 concerning the Formation of Laws and Regulations, which emphasizes the importance of the quality of regional legal products to be in harmony with the needs of the community and regional development. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the Bapemperda DPRD of Taliabu Island Regency plays an important role in the preparation of the Regional Regulation Formation Program (Propemperda), the discussion of the draft Regional Regulation, and providing legal considerations to the proposed regional regulations from the executive and legislative initiatives. However, in practice, the role of Bapemperda still faces various obstacles, such as limited human resources who understand legislative techniques, lack of public participation in the preparation of regional regulations, and suboptimal coordination between the DPRD and local governments. In conclusion, the Bapemperda of the Taliabu Island Regency DPRD has carried out the function of legislation according to its authority, but its effectiveness still needs to be improved through strengthening the capacity of members, increasing synergy between institutions, and encouraging community involvement in every stage of the formation of regional regulations so that the resulting regional regulations are truly aspirational, implementive, and effective for regional development

Abstract

This study analyzes the character education values contained in the Kuda Lumping art performance in Sidogede Village, focusing on the role of traditional art as an educational medium. The main problem raised is the lack of in-depth understanding of the function of the Kuda Lumping performance, which is often considered only as entertainment, even though it has great potential as a means of character building. The purpose of this study is to identify, describe, and analyze the character education values that appear in the performance, and to understand how these values are internalized by the artists and the community. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, which allows the researcher to dig deep into the data. Primary data were obtained through direct observation, in-depth interviews with dancers and studio owners, and visual and audio documentation. Secondary data are in the form of activity documentation and reports. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was guaranteed by triangulation techniques. The results show that the Kuda Lumping performance in Sidogede Village contains at least eight main character values, with varying levels of emergence: discipline, cooperation/mutual assistance, and togetherness (very high); responsibility, self-confidence, love of culture/nationalism, and consistency and loyalty (high); and religiousness (moderate). These values are manifested in various aspects, ranging from a strict training schedule, synergy between performers, to community involvement across ages. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Kuda Lumping art performance in Sidogede Village functions not only as entertainment, but also as an effective medium and informal school that consistently instills noble values in its performers and the community. This art plays an important role in preserving local culture while forming strong character, making it a relevant and contextual non-formal education model.

Abstract

This study explores the interaction between leadership, digital culture, and organizational sustainability within the context of digital transformation at Universitas Kristen Indonesia Tomohon (UKIT), a faith-based higher-education institution in Eastern Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 key informants, strategic document analysis, and observational notes. Thematic analysis revealed that value-driven transformative leadership serves as the central catalyst for digital adoption, with senior leaders actively modeling digital practices and framing technology as an extension of the Christian mission and service. The concept of "digitalization with heart" emerged as a powerful narrative that reduced resistance and fostered moral legitimacy among stakeholders. While digital culture remains in transition, generational differences and structural barriers are gradually being addressed through communities of practice and meaning-making processes that align innovation with the institutional identity. The integration of religious values into digital initiatives enabled a unique form of cultural alignment, distinguishing UKIT from secular transformation models. The impact on organizational sustainability is evident across the academic, operational, financial, and social dimensions, including improved graduation rates, reduced paper dependency, cost savings, and expanded outreach to marginalized communities. The findings suggest a reciprocal relationship among leadership, culture, and sustainability, forming a context-sensitive model of digital transformation grounded in ethical commitment and a shared vision. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating how resource-constrained institutions can achieve sustainable digital change through holistic, value-based, and participatory approaches. It also offers practical insights for leaders of faith-based and regional universities navigating digital evolution.

Abstract

This study examines the socio-economic, health, and agricultural conditions of communities in mining-affected villages in North Minahasa Regency, Indonesia, using a comprehensive census of 2,288 respondents across five villages—Tumbohon, Talawaan, Tatelu, Warukapas, and Tatelu Rondor with Klabat Village as a control site. Employing the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) framework, the research analyzes five key livelihood assets: human, social, natural, financial, and physical capital. Findings reveal a significant shift in livelihoods, with artisanal mining emerging as a primary income source, surpassing agriculture in economic contribution. While access to infrastructure and basic services is relatively adequate, critical vulnerabilities persist in human capital, particularly in education quality and youth school dropout rates linked to mining work. Health indicators show low prevalence of infectious diseases and high Covid-19 vaccination coverage; however, maternal and child health practices such as exclusive breastfeeding and routine immunization remain suboptimal. Nutritional challenges are evident, with low consumption of fruits and vegetables despite sufficient meal frequency. Social capital is structurally present but weakly expressed in collective action, as participation in communal activities is minimal. Financial dependence on informal and extractive sectors, coupled with limited access to formal financial institutions, increases economic vulnerability. The comparison with Klabat Village highlights a development paradox: higher income in mining areas does not equate to greater multidimensional well-being. This research underscores the need for holistic development strategies that strengthen institutional capacity, diversify livelihoods, and prioritize human development over short-term economic gains. The findings provide critical insights for policymakers, corporations, and local governments aiming to foster inclusive and sustainable development in extractive regions
