Abstract

This research aims to develop a history e-book based on historical heritage in Rokan Hilir as an innovative learning media to improve students’ learning motivation in history subject for Grade XI at SMAN 1 Kubu Babussalam. The background of this study is the low student engagement in history learning caused by the lack of contextual and interactive teaching materials. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection techniques included expert validation, student response questionnaires, and motivation assessment before and after using the developed e-book. The results showed that the e-book was categorized as "very feasible" with a material expert validation score of 92% and a media expert validation score of 94%. Student response in small and large group trials also reached a very positive category, with an average of 91%. Moreover, student motivation increased significantly after the implementation of the e-book, demonstrating its effectiveness in engaging learners. The novelty of this research lies in its integration of local historical sites—such as the Rokan Palace, colonial architecture, and traditional Islamic relics—into a digital format, enhancing the relevance and appeal of history lessons. The e-book not only supports curriculum goals but also contributes to the preservation and promotion of local cultural heritage through education.

Abstract

This article discusses how the role given by the Pujakesuma group, especially in winning legislative candidates in Simalungun Regency, which is a minority area of the Javanese tribe, in the 2024 election. The writing of this journal uses a qualitative method, with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews with figures from the Pujakesuma community, which is accompanied by documentation and literature studies. The analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive analysis, through references from journals, and books that are then re-analyzed by the author. The findings obtained from this study are that the largest votes obtained from ethnic Javanese were obtained in Bandar Masalam district, which is an area with a majority of ethnic Javanese ethnicity. The Pujakesuma Association played a major role in winning legislative candidates in Simalungun Regency in the 2024 election.  This shows that associations that are synonymous with cultural organizations can take an important role in politics. A well-managed cultural realm will create good results in the surrounding environment, including in the political environment.

Abstract

Social movements in Watesjaya Village, Cigombong District, Bogor Regency, emerged in response to the massive land acquisition by PT MNC Land for the development of the Lido Special Economic Zone (KEK Lido). This practice encourages massive land conversion that has a direct impact on the survival of local communities, especially forest and non-forest area farmers who have worked on the land for generations. This research uses a qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews with key actors, direct observation in the field, and archival searches. The two main actors, forest area and non-forest area farmers, showed different resistance movements. Farmers in forest areas use an adaptive approach through forest utilization and ecotourism management under the Social Forestry scheme with a Conservation Partnership Agreement (PKK), while the resistance movement of non-forest area farmers uses protests, demonstrations, and rejection of unfair compensation. These different approaches reflect variations in resource mobilization, local knowledge, and level of organization with impacts varying from delaying eviction to creating alternative livelihoods.

Abstract

A notary in his position as a public official who has the authority to make deeds, makes the deeds he makes have very perfect evidentiary power. In this case, all deeds made by a notary or before a notary must be carried out with the principles of prudence, thoroughness and responsibility, because notary is a position that is obtained from the trust given by the law and society. So if the trust that has been given by the law (law) and the public is violated by the Notary, then the Notary must be held accountable for what he has done. In this case, the formulation of the problem in this research is as follows (1) What is the form of the Principle of Prudence and Accuracy for Notaries in making Deeds? (2) What is the Notary's responsibility for a deed that has been made but there are errors or errors such as typos or incorrect identities of the parties? The research methodology in this thesis is as follows: this research is included in empirical research using a sociological research approach. The data collection techniques are by means of interviews and also observation. The research location is at the Notary Office Herny Wahdaniyah Wahab, S.H., M.Kn (Notary in Malang Regency). As for technical data analysis, researchers use a deductive method, namely a method of drawing conclusions from general provisions to specific ones. In this research, there are the following conclusions. The forms of the principle of prudence and accuracy for notaries in making deeds are as follows: (1) The form of the principle of prudence that is applied and implemented is as follows: (1) verifying the facing data, ( 2) accommodate the wishes of the parties, (3)Review repeat/double check regarding the data and deeds made. The form of the prudential principle applied and implemented in this case is in accordance with the prudential principle in banking, namely the 4P formula:Personality, Purpose, Prospect, andPayment. The form of accuracy that can be carried out by a notary is to check/scrutinize the identity of the presenters, including signatures, photos, fingerprints, objects and deeds before/after being printed before/after being read in front of the presenter. (2) The responsibility of the Notary for deeds that have been made but contain errors or errors such as typos and incorrect identities of the parties is the Renvoi method. In this case, there is a form of civil liability that can be carried out by a notary if the error can cause losses. This is regulated in Article 1365 of the Civil Code.

Abstract

Notaries play a crucial role in drafting deeds, as they are legally authorized under the UUJN to perform this function. However, in practice, even when fulfilling their duties, obligations, and authority properly, notaries are often drawn into disputes between the parties involved. To prevent such risks, notaries frequently include a self-protection clause in the deeds they draft. This research addresses two main issues: (1) how the inclusion of self-protection clauses is implemented in notarial deeds, and (2) what form of legal protection is provided to notaries when clients disregard these clauses. The study employs an empirical legal research method with a sociological approach, using interviews and observations conducted at the office of Dimitri Danang Sawitrawan, S.H., M.Kn., a notary in Malang City. Data were analyzed deductively, moving from general legal provisions to specific cases. The findings reveal that a notary is not considered a party to the deed. Therefore, if disputes arise, the notary should not be implicated, either in criminal liability or as a defendant in civil cases. Legal protection remains valid even if the self-protection clause is absent, as long as formal requirements are met. As a precaution, notaries request supporting documentation such as photos, videos, or thumbprints to confirm parties’ approval of the deed.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dynamics of the relationship between interpersonal communication and student engagement in shaping learning motivation. A quantitative research method was employed to analyze the data. In this study, the sample consisted of 190 participants. The results show that interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. This is indicated by a coefficient value of 0.653, a t-statistic of 7.889 (> 1.653), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Interpersonal communication also has a positive and significant effect on student engagement, as shown by a coefficient value of 0.650, a t-statistic of 9.077 (> 1.653), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Student engagement, in turn, has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. With a coefficient of 0.662, a t-statistic of 9.502 (> 1.653), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), it is evident that student involvement in the learning process plays an important role in enhancing learning motivation. Active student engagement enables learners to feel a stronger sense of purpose and drive in their academic pursuits. Furthermore, student engagement partially mediates the effect of interpersonal communication on learning motivation. The direct effect of interpersonal communication on learning motivation is greater (58.4%) compared to the indirect effect through student engagement (43.1%). This indicates that although student engagement serves as a mediator, the direct influence of interpersonal communication remains dominant.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of teachers in fostering global diversity character among students at SD Negeri Warugunung, Rembang. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving teachers, the principal, and students. The findings reveal that teachers play a pivotal role in three dimensions: as educators, teachers internalize values of tolerance and empathy through modeling and habituation; as instructors, they integrate multicultural perspectives into classroom content, albeit inconsistently; and as trainers, they develop students’ intercultural competencies through collaborative and project-based learning activities. However, several limitations were identified, including the lack of structured curriculum planning, insufficient teacher training, and limited collaboration with external stakeholders. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive analysis of teachers’ multi-dimensional roles in shaping global citizenship character at the elementary level in a rural Indonesian context an area that remains under-researched. The study contributes valuable insights for education practitioners and policymakers in designing inclusive character education strategies that respond to the demands of 21st-century global competencies.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of teachers’ pedagogical competence on learning quality in public junior high schools (SMP Negeri) in Rembang Subdistrict. The 2024 Education Report Card reported an average learning quality score (68.14) below the tuntas madya threshold (80.42), indicating the need for competency improvement. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 145 teachers in six schools through proportional random sampling. A validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.90) measured both variables. Data analysis using simple linear regression showed that pedagogical competence significantly and positively affects learning quality (β = 1.520, p = 0.013), explaining 42.0% of its variance (R² = 0.420). Teachers with high pedagogical competence marked by adaptive planning, effective strategies, and accurate assessment achieved better learning outcomes. The study highlights pedagogical competence as a key determinant of learning quality and recommends broader research with additional variables such as technology integration and school climate.
