Abstract

Increasing food demand and urban development have driven rapid land cover change and affected water supply. Globally, irrigated agriculture is the largest consumer of water. This study aimed to assess the prediction of land cover change on water supply in the Bolon watershed. Land cover change was analyzed using CA-MC method with QGIS plug in Molusce model and prediction of future land cover change. SWAT integration model with GIS was used to evaluate water supply. The results of image analysis during the 2017-2024 period revealed an increase in urban areas (4.8%), shrublands (1.0%) and water bodies (0.6%) and a decrease in forests (0.5%), irrigated agriculture (1.5%) and vegetations (4.5%) of the total area of the Bolon watershed. While in the period 2024-2033 showed an increase in urban areas (5.2%), vegetations (1.5%) irrigated agriculture (4.5%) and a decrease in forests (5.9%), shrublands (4.8%) and water bodies (0.5%) of the total area of the Bolon watershed. Modeling with SWAT+ resulted in monthly Q80 supply discharge with average discharge in 2017 (50.70 m3/s), 2024 (49.99 m3/s), 2029 (47,85 m3/s) and 2033 (47,27 m3/s). This study retrived that the impact of LULC changes on irrigation water supply at the sub-watershed scale during the 2017-2024 and 2024-2033 periods using SWAT+ is different from the result at the watershed scale. Land cover change of irrigated agriculture into urban areas, specifically in the downstream of the Bolon watershed during 2017-2033 period, caused a decrease in irrigation water demand so that the downstream watershed changes from low supply to medium supply and changes in vegetations land cover, and shrublands into urban areas in sub-watersheds during 2017-2033 period have caused a decrease in water supply in the river so that sub-watershed changes from high supply to medium supply.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the National Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) has successfully facilitated access to healthcare, despite fluctuations in people's satisfaction with public hospitals. It is essential because services must be continually improved and maintained at a high standard to identify the most critical quality dimensions. We aim to investigate how these dimensions of service quality impact the level of satisfaction among BPJS patients in a qualitative setting. Our research approach was a combination method. We asked 188 BPJS patients questions regarding Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy. We used semi-structured interviews with 24 respondents to investigate their experience. Responsiveness (β = 0.312; p<0.001), assurance (β = 0.287; p<0.001) and empathy (β = 0.241; p<0.01) were significant predictors of satisfaction (R2 = 0.684; F = 162.37; p<0.001). The physical side was not very good, and its reliability was also subpar. Interviews revealed that participants were concerned with waiting times, the way the staff treated them and perceived a difference in the treatment of BPJS patients and non-BPJS patients. The attitudes and empathy of BPJS staff toward patients are the most influential factors in determining the level of satisfaction among BPJS patients. Hospitals should be taught how to communicate effectively, manage queues and appointments in real-time, and enhance service quality. Payers and managers at BPJS could include these items in contracts, compensate for performance, require total reporting on waiting and experience, and advocate for triage and staffing that minimize waiting times

Abstract

Tourism festivals are being utilized to develop local economies in developing countries, but it remains unclear whether they are effective. We conducted several pieces of research to gain a deeper understanding of this. We examined the Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF) and its economic impact in Tomohon. We engaged with 312 residents, business owners and tourists through the festival. For further detailed information, we conducted face-to-face interviews with 24 respondents. The study reveals that TIFF was highly beneficial to the economy. On average, the businesses made 67.4% more money, and the locals made 34.7% more. Temporary employment was approximately 1,847, and residents filled 78.9 percent of them. The average rental equilibrium in the city center was 2.8 times higher than at the outskirts (Gini coefficient = 0.487). We identified three significant factors which contribute to the degree to which the festival will generate economic benefits: the siting of the event facilities relative to the festival location, the compatibility of the festival with the local business sector and the quality of the local businesses. This paper demonstrates that tourism events can deliver numerous benefits; however, these are unevenly distributed and can exacerbate existing inequalities between regions and sectors. The results suggest that planners should design festivals to ensure that the benefits of the festivals are distributed to all members of the community. The policy demonstrates how to invite everyone to the festival simultaneously, upgrade facilities in a remote location, and provide more growth opportunities, which is essential for contributing more to the local economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of halal labels, product quality, and lifestyle on the purchase decision of packaged imported food products by students of State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) in North Sumatra. The phenomenon of increasing consumption of imported products among Muslim students raises questions about the extent to which religious, rational, and psychological factors play a role in determining purchasing decisions. This study uses a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression approach. Data was obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to 100 PTKIN student respondents in North Sumatra who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis is carried out with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study show that three independent variables, namely halal labels, product quality, and lifestyle, have a significant effect on the purchase decision of imported food products in packages. Halal labels are the dominant factor that influences purchase decisions because they provide a guarantee of halal and consumption safety for Muslim students. Product quality has also proven to be an important consideration in assessing the feasibility and quality of the product, while lifestyle reflects the psychological factors that encourage students to choose products according to their trends and self-image. These findings suggest that college students' purchasing decisions are not only driven by religious values, but also by rational considerations and modern lifestyles. The implications of this research encourage business actors to pay attention to halal aspects, maintain product quality, and adjust marketing strategies to the characteristics of young Muslim consumers.

Abstract

The low interest in reading of students is still a fundamental problem in the world of education in Indonesia. Although the School Literacy Movement (GLS) has been implemented in various educational units, its implementation has not fully shown optimal results. This study aims to determine the influence of the School Literacy Movement on the reading interest of grade III students at SD Negeri 85 Pekanbaru. The study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, in which the researcher did not provide a direct treatment, but analyzed the relationship between the independent variable (GLS) and the bound variable (students' reading interest). The research sample was 31 students. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, descriptive statistics, normality tests, and simple regression analysis with the help of the SPSS 25 for Windows program. The results of the study show that all items of the instrument are declared valid and reliable with values. The results of a simple regression analysis showed that the School Literacy Movement had a significant effect on students' reading interest with a significance R Square value of 0.000 < 0.05. This means that GLS contributes 60.3% to the increase in students' reading interest, while 39.7% is influenced by other factors such as family support and literacy facilities. The implications of this study show that the success of the implementation of GLS does not only depend on the routine of reading activities, but also on the support of a conducive learning environment, a variety of interesting reading materials, and the role of teachers and parents in fostering a literacy culture at school and at home.
