Fokus publishes original research or theoretical papers about teaching and learning in Guidance and Counseling study program of IKIP Siliwangi Bandung on current science issues, namely: Guidance and Counseling educator in elementary, secondary and high school level. Guidance and Counseling observers and researchers. Educational decisions maker on regional and national level. We recommend classroom action research, qualitative, descriptive, or quantitative. We may process manuscript of didactic development research (DDR) or research and development (RnD). Our publication could be research on teaching method, an experiment of teaching aid or media, and even effectiveness of lesson study. We accepted any manuscript derived from research of Guidance and Counseling in Indonesia. We will not process manuscript from research approach of school management.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the existence of the Covid-19 pandemic condition which affected the provision of guidance and counseling services in schools, especially the provision of group guidance services to grade VII students at MTs Al-Inayah Bandung City. To support group guidance service activities, interesting techniques are needed so that these services are in demand by students, namely by using role playing techniques, role playing activities between students in groups by playing a real role in everyday life. Grade VII students are a transitional period of developmental tasks from childhood to adolescence. Prosocial behavior is one of the developmental maturities of adolescence, but in reality there are still students who have not optimized this development, in order to prevent misconduct, therefore group guidance services with techniques are needed role playing. This research was conducted using qualitative research methods. The data collected in this study are data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects in this study were 3 students who tended to have a less caring attitude towards others, low tolerance and help to help. The results showed that after being provided with services by the counseling teacher, there was a change in behavior that was displayed compared to before being given the service. So it can be understood that the application of group guidance services with techniques is role playing effective on the prosocial behavior of class VII students at MTs Al-Inayah Bandung.Keywords: Group Guidance Service, Role Playing Techniques, Prosocial Behavior

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil siswa Cerdas Istimewa Bakat Istimewa (CIBI) kelas XI dalam pengambilan keputusan karier. Pengambilan keputusan karier ini mengambil aspek pegetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan. Siswa Cerdas Istimewa bakat Istimewa dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan IQ >125 dan berbakat  sedang, tinggi dan sangat tinggi yang  dilakukan pada subjek penelitian yaitu siswa CIBI kelas XI sebanyak 45 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menyebarkan angket pengambilan keputusan karier. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa dengan kategori pengambilan keputusan karier rendah 6 siswa atau 13%, 34 siswa atau 76%  dengan pengambilan keputusan sedang dan 5 siswa atau 11% dengan kategori tinggi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa cerdas dengan bakat istimewa membutuhkan layanan bimbingan karier untuk dapat mengambil keputusan kariernya secara tepat sesuai dengan potensi yang dimilikinya.Kata Kunci: Pengambilan Keputusan Karier, Siswa Cerdas Istimewa Bakat Istimewa (CIBI).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between academic procrastination and student learning motivation grade VIII  SMPN 2 Kadungora Kabupaten Garut. The sampling technique was used a purposive sampling technique to obtain a research sample of 56 people. The research method uses a quantitative correlational design approach with product moment correlation data analysis techniques based on questionnaire data with scale learning motivation and student learning independence. Data analysis use the application of SPSS 22 with a analys correlation value of 0.348  meaning  that there was a significant relationship between academic procrastination and learning motivation of Grade VIII  SMPN 2 Kadungora Kabupaten Garut Keywords: Academic Procrastination, Learning Motivation

Abstract

School as an educational institution and is a means in order to achieve these educational goals. In the school environment, students are required to comply with the rules and regulations that exist in school. The purpose of this study was to determine individual counseling services in improving student discipline. The approach in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The forms of violations that are often committed by grade IX students at SMP Raksanagara are often late coming to school, late doing assignments, and students' ethics towards teachers who are not. Therefore, individual guidance and counseling services are needed to improve the discipline of students of SMP Raksanagara Cihampelas, guidance and counseling teachers are able to become supervisors, mentors, and controllers.Keywords: individual counseling, discipline.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the learning motivation of class XI students at SMAN 1 Gunung Halu. The study participants consisted of 15 students who had low learning motivation. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method, where data collection is through observation, interviews and questionnaires. The results of the research from the distribution of the student learning motivation score questionnaire showed that most of the students were still classified as moderate at 51.09% where students get bored quickly when getting assignments, 54.53% on student resilience when facing problems and 56.88% of children are less able to defend their opinions . Based on this data, it can be concluded that student learning motivation still needs to be improved by changing teaching methods to be more varied and innovative so that students do not feel bored. It is also hoped that students will be more active and enthusiastic in accepting, looking for and meeting new things in lessons.Keywords: motivation learning, students

Abstract

Self-management is a set of techniques for changing behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Self-management can control emotions and control negative emotions and express emotions in the right way without overdoing it. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of counseling services with self-management strategies to develop the emotional stability of class X students. The approach used in this study was a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. This research is a case study of one student who has problems in regulating his emotional stability. The results showed that self-management strategies can improve students' emotional stability, seen from the way students manage emotions after being given counseling techniques. Students are able to rearrange the environment as an antecedent to certain responses, as well as present themselves and determine their own positive stimulus that follows the desired response. Keywords: : counselling, self management, emotional stability

Abstract

Covid 19 is a new virus found in China and has now spread throughout the territory of Indonesia. This incident is certainly very influential for the learning motivation of students because students will feel bored with studying at home. The purpose of this study was to describe the learning motivation of grade VII students at SMP N 1 Arjasari during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative method which is a case study. The data collection techniques are interviews and documentation. The results showed that the five students at SMP N 1 Arjasari still had motivation of learning with the categories of having student aspirations and aspirations, student abilities, student conditions, and student environmental conditions.  Keywords: Covid-19,  Motivation of Learning

Abstract

This study aims to get an overview and to understand in depth about the motivation to continue education to higher education students of class XII SMAN 4 Garut. The approach in this research is descriptive quantitative. Retrieval of data using the interview method. The subjects in this study were 5 students. The results of this study indicate that the factors inhibiting participants in continuing their studies to higher education include: Lack of interest in student learning towards education and higher education, lack of motivation from parents to improve their children's education, high costs of education in tertiary institutions and the economic condition of parents who insufficient or even inadequate, the requirements set by the desired tertiary institution are not fulfilled, and the community does not care less about education.Keywords:  Motivation, Education to college

Abstract

This study aims to describe the negative self-concept of students who have experienced a broken home. Broken home families have the opportunity to make children have a negative self-concept. This is because in a broken home there is a conflict so that the family is not harmonious. This research was conducted using qualitative research. The data collected in this study are data obtained by means of interviews, observation and documentation study. There were 3 subjects in this study, namely HS, DK and AA. The results showed that students who have a broken home family background have a negative self-concept. They have low self-esteem so that behaviors that appear are inappropriate / deviant behavior such as frequent truancy, smoking in the school environment, violating school rules, always being late at school, disobeying the teacher, not doing tasks that are wrong. given. Thus social interactions and social relationships are disrupted and result in obstruction of efforts to develop themselves. In addition, there are also feelings of inferiority, low self-esteem, feeling unnoticed, unlucky and different from other people.Keywords: Negative Self-Concept, Broken Home, Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine group guidance services in increasing student self-confidence. This research method uses literature review method from previous research. The subjects of this study are some of the results of previous research which are in accordance with the variables discussed in this research. From the results of research group guidance services can be used as an effort to increase student self-confidence, this is evidenced by a change in the subject after the implementation of group guidance (previous literature review). Based on the results of the study that had been done, it was found that through the group guidance technique the students' self-confidence began to build. This can be seen from the increased students' understanding of the rules in life and increased confidence in themselves regarding the ways that can be done in solving each problem.
