Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine whether role-play significantly affects students' speaking ability at the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Barumun. The population of this research is the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Barumun, which is consisted of 205 students, and the sample was taken by cluster sampling that consists of 35 students. This research is carried out using the experimental method. Furthermore, the instrument used for collecting the data is by giving the test. After collecting the data, it was analyzed by using t.test.After analyzing the data, there is a significant effect of teaching speaking using role play teaching technique at the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Barumun and categorized very well. It was found that the mean or the average of the student's score after the treatment was 83.11. Using statistical analysis, the researchers get to 42.05, where the value of t.table  is 1.69. It means that the value of t observed is greater than that of the t table (to = 42.05 > t table = 1.69). It means that there is a significant effect of teaching by using role-play on students' speaking ability. The alternative hypothesis of this research is accepted. The value of the coefficient of determination is 0.86, which means role play affects the students' speaking ability by as much as 86 %.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials based on HOTS, multiple intelligence, and the character of Baimbai pedaling for riverside elementary schools. This study used the research and product development method of teaching materials with the Borg & Gall design, which consisted of 10 steps. The sample comprises 72 elementary school students, six principals, and 10 class teachers. The sampling technique used purposive random sampling. The research instrument is a validity test questionnaire and tests. Data analysis used qualitative data analysis and independent sample t-test. Based on the results of assessments from SD teaching materials experts, media experts, SD design experts, and character education experts, a score of > 92 was obtained, indicating that the teaching materials were feasible to use. Based on the results of the effectiveness test conducted on 46 students and analyzed using an independent sample t-test, the t-count value was higher than the t-table (2.231> 1.576), and the significance value was less than 0.05 (0.002 <0.005). The increase occurred in the medium category with a value of N-Gain = 0.39

The technique employed is the comparison method. The purpose of this study is based on the needs in primary school environments, especially in high school, because knowing the problems and difficulties in applying Indonesian language learning to speaking skills for elementary school students is very much needed. It has been proven that it takes work to maximize students' speaking skills in front of an audience. Researchers identified the subject matter discussed in this study as 40 articles published in national journals within the last ten years. The article Speaking Skills with a Storytelling Approach consists of 20 pieces on speaking skills by various methods, as many as nine pieces for speaking skills in high school, which in general is as much as two articles; additionally, to speak with storytelling skills using a variety of models, as many as four articles; three articles for speaking skills using image media and comics; and the other two articles discuss speaking skills in law school in general. The novelty of the research obtained in the literature review of speaking skills and the theories presented by previous experts The impact of research that uses the study of literature is more significant when other researchers pay attention to the suggestions given by researchers when researching speaking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether differentiation learning in junior high school mathematics learning was practical. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental research design with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were all eighth graders of St Yoseph Private Junior High School Medan, which consisted of five classes with 32 people in each class. The sample in this study was 64 students consisting of 32 students for the experimental class and 32 for the control class. The results showed that the average student activity in content differentiation was 2.33 in the excellent category, the application of process differentiation was 2.33 in the excellent category, and the application of product differentiation was in a suitable category. The average value of teachers' ability to implement content differentiation is 3 in the excellent category, the average value in the implementation of process differentiation is 2.25 in the excellent category, and the implementation of product differentiation is 2.75 in the excellent category. Based on the results of research and hypothesis testing that has been carried out, the differentiation learning process runs effectively, which can improve students' mathematical abilities. This can be seen from the difference in the average post-test score of students in the experimental class and control class of 2.25%, the percentage of students who meet the KKM is 62.5%, the average student activity is 76.6%, and also the average level of teacher ability in managing differentiation learning in the experimental class is 89%. This research implies that differentiation learning is effectively used for junior high school mathematics learning

Abstract

Education is an attempt to master the knowledge from the formal or non-formal environment to create quality human resources. The results of a world assessment of education in Indonesia, according to the 2015 PISA report, is a world-class assessment program in which the academic performance of 15-year-old students shows that the development of education in Indonesia is still far behind compared to other countries in the world. Therefore the Ministry of Education and Culture has implemented a new program called the National Assessment as a substitute for the National Exam, which will be implemented in 2021. This study aims to determine the effect of language and numeracy literacy on the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) results. The method of collecting data in this study is through a questionnaire (questionnaire). Respondents taken in this study were 49 students of SMAN Ploso. Data analysis method using descriptive analysis. This study's results indicate an influence of language and numeracy literacy on the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) results. This can be proven by the t-test significance value of 0.067 > 0.05. Then the magnitude of the influence can be seen from the test results of the coefficient of determination with a value of 0.662 or 66.2% so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that the independent variables are proven to have a significant influence on the implementation of AKM which was held at SMAN Ploso Jombang. The implications of the data analysis results on reading and numeracy literacy with a minimum competency assessment, it is necessary to improve governance of learning and infrastructure so that the quality of school education can be achieved through holistic management and learning governance. The relation between reading and numeracy literacy is how the teacher presents material, and the use of learning media is the main thing that needs improvement. Using relevant learning media is urgently needed to support students' literacy skills at SMAN Ploso Jombang.
