Abstract

Arithmetic is a field of mathematics closely related to human existence. It will be helpful for anyone to perform any task that requires calculation if they have a basic understanding of mathematics. However, sometimes it is optional to carry out precise calculations. Counting is the backbone or breath of learning mathematics. Students' ability to count becomes vital in teaching mathematics to students. The research aimed to measure Class VII students' numeracy skills at SMP Negeri 1 Siantar, Simalungun Regency. The method used is a descriptive-quantitative approach. The population is nine classes with 254 students, and the sample is taken in layers and randomly as many as four classes with 112 students. The nine classes consist of 2 groups, namely the Superior Class (KU) of 2 classes, namely class VII1 and class VII2, and the Ordinary Class (KB) of 7 classes, namely class VII3, VII4, VII5, to class VII9. The research concluded that the Superior Class could count, while the Ordinary Class was 5.95% unable to count. The findings of this study imply that apart from providing students with a better learning environment and infrastructure, it is essential to improve their arithmetic skills.

Abstract

One of the chemicals that is considered difficult is the colligative properties of solutions. Difficulty understanding material colligative properties of solutions can hinder students' understanding of other concepts. The purpose of this research was to find out the increase in creative thinking skills and mastery of students' material after participating in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model of learning. The research method used was quasi-experimental research, with the research design used being one group pretest-posttest design. In this study, the experimental class was treated using the Problem Based Learning learning model on colligative properties of solutions. The population in this study were undergraduate students at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The sample in this study were Bachelor of Chemistry Education students at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The results of research on student learning outcomes in the material Colligative Properties of Solutions using the PBL learning model increased from 42.6% students' pretest scores and 84.16% students' posttests, the increase obtained was 41.56%. The conclusion of the research is that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model has a significant effect on students' creative thinking skills. This can be proven from the average value of students' creative thinking skills in the experimental class at each meeting has increased

Abstract

This research was motivated by the learning process, which still tends to use the explanation method on the material theme of the environment. The learning objectives have not been achieved optimally, affecting student learning effectiveness. One effort that can be used is by using Flash Card Fun Thinkers media. This study used a research and development (R&D) methodology. Flash Card Fun Thinkers media is based on ADDIE's development steps. The population in this study were 33 Second Graders of Elementary students at SD IT Iqro Stabat. The results of the research showed; (1) the material expert validity test scored 92% and was categorized very well, (2) the media expert validity test scored 86.67%, and it was said as in excellent qualifications, (3) the second graders of Elementary teachers’ validity test score was 90%, and it was said in excellent qualifications, (4) individual trials score was of 91.11%, and it was said in excellent qualifications, Small Group trials score was of 90.13%, and it was said in excellent qualifications, Large Group trials score was 88 % and it was said in excellent qualifications. The results showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the thematic Flash Card Fun Thinkers learning media and the conventional learning media.

Abstract

This study was to determine the effect of the quiz team learning model on the thematic learning outcomes of sub-theme 3 of my parents' work in class IV SD Negeri 091281 Batu IV. This type of research used in this research is a quantitative experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. In this study, the population was all fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 091281 with a total of 38 people, and the research sample was group A with a total of 24 students. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this study used the results of multiple-choice test questions. The data analysis technique used is the Normality Test and Hypothesis Test. The results of calculations using the paired sample test obtained tcount = 19.096 > ttable = 1.713. From these results, it can be seen that Ho is rejected, which means that using the quiz team learning model affects the thematic learning outcomes of class IV SD Negeri 091281 Batu IV.

Abstract

The diversity of reading methods does not mean that learning activities must use in various ways. Using a plan that suits the material and needs involves using multiple techniques. This research aimed to obtain the ability to read argumentation texts by students of SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Panribuan using the SQ4R method. The research method used is the experimental method. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Panribuan. In particular, the research was carried out in class X. The empirical research design was a group pre-test and post-test design. The research instrument used to obtain data is by using a test. The study results mean that the average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class before being given less/low treatment and after being given treatment using the SQ4R method increased. This indicates an increase in student learning outcomes after being given treatment. This study aims to improve students' reading skills in understanding argumentation texts and applying the SQ4R method to other texts or discourses.

Abstract

This article will discuss the communication skills of SMP IT Al Ikhwan students in class VII-1 and VII-2 each with a total of 32 students, after being given learning through RME. Determination of the sample is done by simple random. The research instrument used in this study was a test that was statistically analyzed using N-Gain. After carrying out a series of activities starting from the pretest, treatment and posttest, it can be concluded that the use of RME was apparently good for improving mathematical communication skills as seen from the N-Gain acquisition for each class that was sampled. The learning process that uses RME opens opportunities for students to be able to play a more active role in expressing themselves in solving mathematical problems and realistic mathematics education gets a very good response, students really like it and feel very excited.

This research aims to know the role of MGMP in the progress of subject teachers. The research method used was qualitative with a survey research design. The instrument used in data collection was questionnaires distributed online through Google Forms, with 105 respondents. The data analysis technique is an interactive model that goes through three stages: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Then proceed with triangulation. The results showed that MGMP has a high role in improving the quality of subject teachers because, in MGMP, there are many things discussed, such as improving teacher performance, teaching materials or materials, curriculum, about good PBM so that the material reaches students, lesson plans, how to deal with students and compile exam questions. This study concludes that MGMP is an essential forum for teachers to conduct deliberations to solve further everything that exists to improve the quality of the times. Through more frequent MGMP meetings, it can achieve educational goals and make teachers more professional. The study's implication is to advise the government that MGMP is very influential on the progress of subject teacher performance so that the government is more concerned about non-formal organizations and members in them.

Abstract

There are four language skills, namely, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Kindergarten-aged children only need to hear and speak correctly and according to their age development. According to  Departemen Pendidikan Nasional (2003), the fiction of language development for early childhood is as a means of communication with the environment, as a tool for developing children's innate, actual abilities, as a tool for developing children's expression, and as a tool for expressing feelings and thoughts to others. This study aimed to improve early childhood expressive language skills using character hand puppets in group B1 TK ABA Wonosari IV  as many as 15 children. Data collection through observation and documentation. The results showed an increase in indicators in the pre-cycle conditions of 13% and 60% in the first and 93% in the second cycles. The power analysis results concluded that using character hand puppet media could improve expressive language in group B1 TK ABA Wonosari IV. The researcher suggests that teachers use character puppet media to improve children's expressive language skills.
