Abstract

This study aims to design a valid, reliable, and effective mathematics learning evaluation tool using Quizizz for grade VI students at SDN 1 Toronipa. The method used in this study is Research and Development (RnD) with a 4D development model. The validity test results showed that out of 25 questions tested, 15 were declared valid, while 10 other questions were invalid. The reliability test conducted using the Alpha Cronbach method produced a reliability coefficient of 0.960, indicating a very high level of Reliability. Analysis of the difficulty level of the questions revealed that 80% of the questions were in the "moderate" category, while the other 20% were in the "easy" category. The discrimination test results showed that most questions had "good" or "excellent" discrimination power. This study proves Quizizz is a practical, engaging, interactive evaluation tool. The evaluation tool developed meets the criteria of validity, Reliability, appropriate level of difficulty, and good discrimination power, so it can potentially increase student motivation and learning outcomes. This study provides empirical evidence that Quizizz can be an effective alternative in evaluating mathematics learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

According to John Dewey, education forms fundamental abilities involving thought patterns and emotional power toward human character. The reality is that the practice of bullying, sexual violence, and acts of intolerance also colored the world of education in Indonesia, marked by increasing cases of violence and discrimination in schools in the period 2015-2023. Implementing the Merdeka Curriculum is seen as one way to humanize humans. Frateran High School, as one of the Catholic educational institutions, also takes part in efforts to humanize humans as an application of the teachings standard in the church document Educating to Fraternal Humanism. In addition to the three cardinal sins in education that must be avoided, students are currently faced with the challenge of increasingly diverse backgrounds of friends around them, such as those experienced by students after the opening of the dormitory in 2022. This research uses a qualitative method to analyze the data using Paulo Freire's theory of liberating education. This study found that the school implemented a culture of openness, allowing for spatial dialogue within the community. Restitutive culture in dealing with students, habituating dialogue, and using problem-based learning methods in learning are school strategies for building humanistic education.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and technological developments, education plays an important role in preparing students' future. One of the geospatial technologies that can be utilized is Google Earth, which allows students to access spatial information visually and interactively. Teachers need to use the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model to determine the effect of students' creative thinking skills. This study examines the effect of a project-based learning model supported by geospatial technology on the creative thinking skills of grade X students at SMAN 2 Batu. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a post-test-only control group design. Students of class X5 became the experimental class that applied the PjBL model, while class X6 was a control with conventional learning. The results showed that the mean value of the creative thinking skills post-test was higher (84.84) compared to the control class (74.00). The results of hypothesis testing using the Mann-Whitney U-Test non-parametric test showed Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000<0.05, which indicates a significant difference in the post-test scores of the two classes, which means that the hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, so it can be concluded that the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by geospatial technology has a significant effect on students' creative thinking skills.

The validation results from subject matter experts showed an average score of 3.81, categorized as "Highly Feasible," with the material relevance aspect receiving a perfect score of 4.00. Media experts gave an average score of 3.66, with the highest rating on the operability aspect (3.71). The student trial yielded a satisfaction score of 85.7%, demonstrating that the media is suitable as an innovative tool for teaching pattern-transferring techniques onto fabric. The media effectively addressed students' difficulties in visualizing and transferring patterns from paper to fabric. Its strengths lie in the systematic presentation of material, flexible usage, and its function as both an independent learning tool and a classroom supplement. The study recommends regular content updates to align with industry developments and suggests developing similar media for other competencies. These findings emphasize the importance of technology-based media innovation in enhancing the quality of vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning resources, school environment, and school culture on student learning outcomes in the Accounting Department at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. A quantitative approach was employed using an explanatory survey method. The sample consisted of 179 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling from a total population of 323 students. Data were collected using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the three independent variables simultaneously had a significant effect on student learning outcomes (Prob. F = 0.000; R² = 0.719). Partially, school culture had the most dominant influence (β3= 0.440; p = 0.000), followed by the school environment (β2= 0.270; p = 0.000), and learning resources (β1= 0.134; p = 0.024). These findings underscore the importance of a holistic approach in efforts to improve the quality of vocational education, particularly through the optimization of learning resource management, the creation of a conducive school environment, and the strengthening of school culture. This study contributes to the development of an integrated conceptual model relevant to managerial practices and educational policy at the vocational high school level.

Abstract

Before the arrival of Islam, the Malay community was known to adhere to animism and dynamism and was influenced by Hindu and Buddhist teachings. Religious transformation began when Islam entered through trade routes, with Arab traders as the bearers of the teachings of monotheism. The values of the monotheistic creed that were gradually instilled not only changed the belief system of the Malay community but also shaped the identity and character of Islam. This study aims to examine the role of the values of the monotheistic creed in shaping the character of Islam within the Malay community, which is integrated with local culture. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing a library research method that involves examining academic literature, historical documents, and local cultural sources. The results of the study indicate that the monotheistic creed makes a significant contribution to shaping the character of a faithful, sincere, responsible, disciplined person who upholds the values of divinity. The monotheistic creed also strengthens the identity of Malay Islam and serves as a moral foundation in community life. The implications of this study suggest that understanding and strengthening the values of monotheism rooted in local culture can be utilized as an effective, wisdom-based character education strategy in responding to moral challenges in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' responses to the use of YouTube videos in Citizenship Education learning and to examine the contribution of this medium in fostering an understanding and application of cooperative values. The research approach employed is a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques that include observation, interviews, documentation, and analysis of student worksheets. The subjects in this study consisted of 27 ninth-grade students at SMPN 11 Samarinda who were grouped into four discussion groups. The research findings indicate that most students responded positively to the use of YouTube videos. They consider the presentation of material through this media to be more interesting, easy to understand, and directly related to everyday life. In addition to improving students' understanding of Citizenship Education, videos also play a role in shaping their moral attitudes, particularly the value of cooperation. This is reflected in group cooperation activities, the equal division of tasks, and the behaviour of helping one another, both when studying and in activities such as class duty. Thus, YouTube is a potential medium for applying contextual and interactive learning, especially in instilling Citizenship Education values in a more meaningful way.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a fundamental skill essential for learning success at the elementary school level. This skill enables students to comprehend the content of texts, identify the main ideas, and relate the information in the text to their prior knowledge or experiences. However, many students still struggle to thoroughly comprehend texts. Low reading interest and limited access to engaging learning media remain significant obstacles to developing literacy skills. This study aims to examine the Effect of a literacy approach assisted by picture storybooks on the reading comprehension ability of fifth-grade students at SD N Purwoyoso 01 and SD N Purwoyoso 03. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and pre-and post-test assessments. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group after implementing the picture storybook-assisted literacy approach compared to the control group. Picture storybooks helped students better understand the texts enjoyably by integrating visual, oral, and written literacy. This approach proves to be an effective alternative for improving reading comprehension in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level.
