Abstract

Classroom management is vital for fostering productive learning environments. As a leading teacher-training institution, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) employs microteaching to equip students with pedagogical skills. This qualitative case study examines how microteaching enhances classroom management competencies among six Mechanical Engineering Education students, preparing them for the Program Penguatan Profesional Kependidikan (P3K). Data were collected through interviews on microteaching implementation, classroom management practices, and observations of teaching sessions. Supporting documentation and triangulation ensured validity. Analysis followed stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Findings indicate that structured microteaching significantly improves classroom management abilities, evident in students' enhanced performance during school-based teaching. The program's procedural adherence enables participants to refine lesson delivery, behavioural management, and instructional adaptability. Practical experience through microteaching not only bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world application but also builds confidence and readiness for first aid challenges. Thus, microteaching is a critical preparatory tool, equipping future educators with the skills to navigate dynamic classroom settings and meet professional demands. These outcomes underscore the value of experiential training in teacher education, positioning UPI's approach as a model for cultivating adaptable, classroom-ready educators.

Abstract

The low understanding of basic fraction concepts among students with hearing impairment has led to difficulties in writing fractional numbers and performing addition and subtraction of fractions. This study aims to examine the effect of the active knowledge-sharing strategy on the learning outcomes in fractions of students with hearing impairment at SLBN Cicendo, Bandung City, specifically in writing simple fractions and performing addition and subtraction fractions with like denominators. This research used an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were six students from Class VIII-A1 with hearing impairment. Data were collected through pretests and post-tests post-tests and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the average post-test score was higher than the average pretest score. The most significant improvement was observed in the indicator for calculating the addition and subtraction results of common fractions with like denominators. In contrast, the lowest improvement was found in the indicator for writing simple fractions using concrete and semi-concrete media.

Abstract

Student learning achievement is one of the leading indicators in evaluating the success of the educational process. At the higher education level, especially efforts to improve student learning achievement are very crucial. When several students are trapped in social media addiction, FOMO, and online game addiction, the learning atmosphere on campus can become less conducive. Class discussions become quiet, and collaboration between friends becomes minimal, negatively impacting academic development. This study uses a quantitative approach with a comparative causal research type. The variables used are independent and dependent. The independent variables consist of Social Media Addiction, FOMO, and Online Game Addiction. The dependent variable is student learning achievement. The results of the study showed a significance value of the F test of 0.026 <0.05; it can be concluded that the variables consisting of social media addiction, FOMO, and online game addiction simultaneously significantly affect student learning achievement. The results of the study concluded that there is a substantial influence between social media addiction, FOMO, and online game addiction on learning achievement. Partially, students who are addicted to online games can affect learning achievement. Students who are addicted to social media and FOMO may not necessarily affect learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline, work motivation, and job satisfaction on teacher performance at SMP IT Al Maksum Sunggal. This study's background is based on some teachers' weak performance, such as inconsistency in preparing learning tools, low variation in teaching methods, and varying levels of discipline and job satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least square-structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis method through the SmartPLS 3.0 application. The respondents were 30 teachers, which was determined through total sampling techniques. The study showed that the three independent variables simultaneously influenced teacher performance with an R² value of 0.441. Partially, work discipline has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (path coefficient = 0.505), but several indicators, such as DG2 and DG5, have low loading values and need to be evaluated. Conversely, work motivation negatively affects teacher performance (coefficient = -0.159), which indicates the possibility of conceptual problems in measuring indicators. Job satisfaction is the most consistent and significant variable influencing teacher performance (coefficient = 0.350), with strong reliability and convergent validity support. Thus, strengthening teacher discipline and job satisfaction must be the focus of human resource development in schools. In contrast, the motivation aspect needs to be reviewed conceptually and technically to maximize its contribution to improving teacher performance.

Abstract

This case study explores the learning profile of JN, a student exhibiting specific learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia. Through a comprehensive assessment process, it was found that JN faces persistent challenges in reading, especially in decoding syllables, words, and sentences, due to deficits in auditory perception, phonological awareness, and phoneme discrimination. Despite these difficulties, JN shows notable strengths in letter recognition, visual perception, and visual memory. These contrasting cognitive profiles suggest the need for targeted instructional interventions that utilize visual-based and multisensory learning strategies. The findings underscore the importance of early identification and individualized support within an inclusive education framework. Such an approach ensures that students with learning barriers receive equitable and effective educational opportunities that align with their unique strengths and needs.

Abstract

Academic supervision is one of the important strategies in supporting the improvement of professional, reflective, and competitive teacher performance. However, supervision is often perceived as administrative control rather than professional development, resulting in resistance and lack of impact on learning quality. This study aims to systematically examine the effect of principal supervision on teacher performance and the factors that support and hinder its effectiveness. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, the authors analyzed 36 scientific documents selected through a PRISMA-based selection process from 400 initial sources. The literature was thematically analyzed to identify patterns of relationships between supervision strategies, principals' roles, and teacher performance outcomes. The results show that reflective, dialogic, and participatory supervision improves teachers' pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies. The findings also indicate that principals' main supporting factors are competence, collaborative culture, and policy support. In contrast, administrative burden, teacher resistance, and lack of training were significant barriers. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening the principal's role as a professional coach and the need for a more contextualized and humanistic supervision policy reform. Academic supervision designed with an empowerment approach can be the foundation for building a sustainable and quality-oriented school culture.
